This place ruined my hair. I gave them 2 chances, and they screwed up both times! I trusted them to fix the problem they caused the first time, but had no luck. $300 later, I’m having to go somewhere else to get my hair fixed, and since it isn’t the new places fault, I’m having to pay full price. Color bar didn’t offer any money to be returned after the two days I was there and after tipping 3 girls to be working on my head each time. Who does that anyway? Who has more than one person dye a clients head? I assumed my hair would be uneven because it would only make sense that each girl wasn’t in sequence with the other, and I was correct. Wow! Being that’s it was my first time there they did a horrible job both hair & makeup photos that I showed to the the stylist & MUA was nothing like the pictures they were shown ...don’t get me wrong I wasn’t expecting an exact match but I left there looking so bad my photographer for my bridal shoot didn’t want to take my photos due to she didn’t want her name associated with them she recommended strongly to reschedule ... and when I called the manager/owner she totally di...sregarded my opinion and offered to redo my makeup but as if only to get me off the phone and smerk/ giggled when I said my eyebrows were bad with no sympathy what so ever.. so I would not plan to go back ever !!! I went to Color bar to get blonde highlights and left with dark brown hair. When I told the stylist it was darker then I wanted she said it would lighten up. I showed her 4 pictures of what I was looking for and my hair looks nothing like what I wanted. Way to expensive for the experience! Read Less

Marissa is WONDERFUL! My first time was getting a Brazilian blowout. However, She explained that getting a relaxer is actually what I needed not the blowout. I liked her explanation it made complete and total sense. I get a natural Highlights. And they do look natural. All the ladies in the salon are very nice very caring and helpful. I have only had my hair done by Marissa but I will say that she does a perfect job. I will also say that I've had blowouts from some of the other ladies in the shop and they always done wonderful. You could edit it and state this: I would not recommend the Color Bar for this reason. I went in to fix what was done the day before and after 6 1/2 hrs the color was worse than it started out. I will make it a point to never go here simply because their radio commercial is SO STUPID AND RIDICULOUS. If you adervertise as professional and charge high class prices...you might want to lose the ghetto commercial. Advertising FAIL. Read Less

I came in a couple days ago after a blue semi-permanent had completely stained my natural blonde hair and would not come out for months! Anastasia was SO helpful and did an incredible transformation on my hair to cover the blue! I left with a GORGEOUS deep all over red and new look that I am absolutely in love with!! Today was my first time here. Went in because another salon ruined my hair. They literally made my hair crispy and dry. The Color Bar helped me out. Alyssa took care of me. If I could give them 0 stars I would. I'm so mad right now. I went in and asked them to lighten up my hair to a blonde from a reddish color. Needless to say I trusted them with my hair and they way over did it. My hair is now over processed, waxy and beyond damaged. I went in the next day after I got my hair done And asked them why it felt so bad they said it was because my shampoo and conditioners were expired. What a joke. I went to another salon after this to ask them why it felt this way and what I can do to make my hair better and they said it was beyond repair and they had to cut 2 inches of the damage off. I had several great experiences here, but one bad one will stop me from going back. I was turned brunette when I wanted to remain blonde with a few low lights. It's a drastic change when you get turned brunette from almost bleach blonde. I was not offered any sort of accommodation even though it was obvious I was very upset about it. I was expecting some sort of discount, but I had to pay the full price which was almost $200. Hopefully in the future they will offer some sort of discount to those who aren't completely satisfied. Fortunately for me I spoke with Marissa the owner of The Color Bar Salon and made my first appointment. The Salon is perfectly laid out, lots of space, not too crowded. It is very tastefully decorated and extremely clean. Probably the cleanest Salon I have ever been in. Now for the hair. Marissa really knows her business. I have been going there for almost a year now and my hair has never looked better. The color is amazing (I know because I get compliments). She is organized, efficient (she can talk and work without stopping ). Appointments are made and confirmed through the latest technology (I love that!) She stays up to date with the current hair trends through continued education (very important for me). She gives me her all when I am there with her and that gets me in and out and feeling very happy about my hair appointment. I am glad I waited to write my review because with each appointment I feel so fortunate and happy to have found such well run business in my new home in Corpus Christi. I have gone several times before trips to get her to blow out my hair because she does such s great job. Prices are not cheap nor expensive. Don't believe the hype! Inside the salon is a dump. The wash stations are leaking. When I went there was a puddle of water on the floor no one bothered to mop up. I noticed all the hair stations had brushes with hair on them, gross! My hair turned out to be a disaster! It turned out nothing to be what I wanted (picture). I want to start by saying Color Bar has extremely friendly and nice staff! They will all go out of their way to make you feel welcome and beautiful. The best part is the nail station. They only have one nail technician who works by appt only, but she is the BEST in Corpus Christi. The variety of colors they have for hair is phenomenal, some I've never even seen before.
