I called in late yesterday afternoon and they were able to get my husband and I both in at the same time pedicures just a short time later. I also got a manicure at the same time as my pedicure. I only remember the name of the girl you did my manicure, Ruby, but all 3 ladies were fantastic. We were continually checked on by the woman at the front desk, offering drink refills. A lovely little store front with impeccable design sensibility inside. The staff of just adorable. They offered mimosas and chocolate covered almonds. Ruby was especially wonderful. She did a dynamite job on my gel manicure and gel pedicure and she was really fun and easy to talk to. I went in to get a basic gilt gel manicure and I was not pleased with the service. I am picky with my nails and who does them so I went in thinking I was going to get get great service, especially for the price. First off they were not so kind in greeting me when I walked in and the lady who did my nails didn't even say her name. She just started working on them without asking what I wanted done or how I liked my nails. She then began to push my cuticles down without softening them, it was very painful. Online it says that the basic gilt comes with an arm massage and she did't give me one. I couldn't wait until she was done. Once she finished I went to pay and was asked how my service went and I told her that I honestly didn't like it, I told her about how rough she was with my cuticles and asked if they place them in water or put something on it to soften the cuticle and she told me that I could if I wanted to but I had to ask, WHAT!? Aren't they supposed to ask me?? I then asked if the manicure came with a massage and she said yes but she didn't do it because I got a gel manicure and the lotion couldn't get on my nails because the gel wasn't going to bond well. She didn't have to massage my nails or she could've wiped off the lotion with acetone or at least charge me less for that. I will NEVER go again!! Read Less

This place is terrible! First of all not having massage chairs is a bummer but I could easily get over that. The most frustrating thing for my pedicure is it was the shortest massage ever as well as she burnt me with the paraffin! She had no clue what she was doing when it came time to push my cuticles back and clean up the skin I observed her pretending like she did it to two toes while she kept chatting about her personal life trying to distract me from the fact she had no experience. I got the OPI shellac manicure. My set has bubbles in every nail. It has been six days and three nails have started to chip. The gel is also lifting on the sides where the gel is especially thin and didn't get top coat.The technician noticed one bumpy bubble during polish and buffed it away and re-polished, but all the other nails still have bubbles. All of the nails feel bumpy. I have gotten a better set at other salons. The last set I got lasted over two weeks without chipping. They were also smooth and rigid. I found this set this. The curing times are short and the polish is the minimum amount resulting in a brittle gel set. Pros: Manicure is thorough with cleaning and shaping the nail Salon is clean and new Hot towels Good customer service Cons:Polish is weak and doesn't cover whole nail Bumpy Short wearing timeCould be closer to cuticle I expect longer wearing time for $40 and no bubbles in the nail and no lifting. I would prefer a better product than the spa experience. I don't know where the wine and champagne trend came from, but I am happy with it only being a nail salon! I come for the nails. Read Less

Hands down the best nail salon!!! From the time you walk in until you leave you feel so welcomed. It's a wonderful atmosphere that's not force felt all of the ladies were very attentive and genuine. I had the pleasure of having Alex making me look and feel so refreshed and gorgeous toes and fingers to boot!!! Alex is very detailed oriented and actually listens to what YOU want and also gives helpful suggestions. I have to say that it's because of her kindness and great conversation is why I got a mani, I only came in for a pedi. Great job on the owner as well for making sure that she only employs people who actually do care about the guests who hopefully will become clients.  My nails look awesome and my toes aren't smudged like they normally do as soon as I leave other salons. Absolutely loved my visit at Gilt today! Sarah was my nail technician and she did a great job on my gel manicure and was so fun to talk to! The rest of the staff was really nice and friendly as well. The atmosphere is clean and modern, but not in a bougie or annoying way. This nail salon was not like any other I've been to in Austin so far, and it's just down the street from me! I've been to Gilt twice now and love it. They are all so warm and welcoming. Wine and chocolate covered almonds?! Yes, please! I wear my daughter and get a mani/pedi once a month. Tike always comes by and checks in and plays with my daughters feet--adorable. Cindy does a great mani/pedi. I get shellac and her shellac manicures have lasted longer than any I've ever had before. It didn't even peel in the entire month I went in between manicures. Very pleased. I had never had an SNS manicure before, but thought I would try it. It's a longer process and they were kind enough to pull Arthea over to do my manicure while Cindy did my pedicure so that my daughter didn't get impatient and grumpy. I probably won't get an SNS again, but because of how it feels, not the actual manicure itself. I also really love the style of the nail bar itself too. Super modern and very sleek. I won't be going back to Gilt.The person who did my SNS manicure was pleasant enough, although she made a comment that made me uncomfortable (I would rather not go into detail about it here - it was nothing overwhelmingly offensive, but it wasn't what I would call appropriate). It was my first SNS manicure, so I'm not sure if my expectations were just out of line, but she didn't even touch my cuticles and didn't get the powder far down enough; as a result, the manicure started looking grown out after only a couple of days (and my nails grow pretty slowly). She also didn't allow enough time for the topcoat to dry, so it started coming off on two nails before I even left the premises - thank goodness I noticed and had her fix it (although it was almost worse afterward, since the two nails ended up very thick. Also, a little bit of paper towel got stuck on one, which she didn't correct even when I told her about it). The worst part, though, is that the manicure started lifting from the bottom only a week in; now, ten days post-application, it's definitely way past time for it to be removed. From what the tech told me, I was expecting it to look decent for at least two weeks.Additionally, the tech kept complaining about how she was running out of one of the things she needed to do SNS, and about how she kept telling her boss about it but her boss hadn't ordered any more. As a client, this is something I absolutely shouldn't hear. I don't want to see my tech struggling to get stuff out of an almost-empty bottle, and I certainly don't want to know about any problems going on behind the scenes. I want a calm, relaxing experience when I get my nails done, and I didn't get that at Gilt.I'll be going somewhere else to have my SNS manicure removed, and as I mentioned, I won't be returning to Gilt. Their general vibe suggests that they're aiming for a luxurious feel, but they don't live up to that at all. I'm very disappointed. Read Less

This place for sure could / will be a 5 but I had a few issues on my visit yesterday. In all fairness I did NOT have an apt so they needed to squeeze me in. Id for SURE make an apt next time.The BEST thing is the people are very nice, my pedi is awesome and the place is so well vented NO SMELL!Needed work, freezing in there ( they did offer me a blanket)waited for my mani for about 25 mins after my pedi but had to go before I got it. Pedi was short, short massage ( but great) and the menu said $35 but I was charged $42.( before tip) Not sure why, and needed to run so didn't ask. My bad. Read Less

From the moment I walked in the door, everything about this salon was fabulous. They greeted me the moment I walked in, went through the menu options with me, served me wine, offered me a snack to go with it, umm heck yesss! The style is adorable and the setup is convenient for their clients AND nail technicians. My nail tech Mary did an amazing job on my pedicure. She paid special attention to detail and made my toes look amazingggg!I booked a regular pedicure and later decided I wanted to add-on gel polish. I wasn't sure they were going to have time to squeeze it in, but they were totally able to accommodate my request.As a nail technician myself, I'm extremely picky about nail salons, customer service, cleanliness and the general outcome of my pedicures. One word: luxury! This place is amazing! You are greeted with a polite smile and hello as soon as you walk through the door. I opted for a pedicure. They only care OPI and a more natural alternative which I thought I was pretty cool! The nail bar had a relaxing and new age vibe. My pedicure was done with care and perfection. Been waiting for this nail bar to open! Went to opening day yesterday and enjoyed the "Guilty Pleasure" pedicure.  They did a great job on the pedicure itself and my feet enjoyed the Paraffin Wax Treatment.   Love the ambiance and decor.   Definitely not like your typical nail joint that smells like harsh chemicals and cranks you out like a number.  The staff was extremely friendly, very inquisitive to my needs, and took their time with the service. I will never go back to this salon. I was charged for nails that appeared as if an 8 year old painted them. I decided to go back to get them fixed.. Because after all, I was charged $40.00. When I returned they were very rude and even cut both of the fingers that were to be fixed. I left frustrated, with bloody fingers, and terrible looking nails. Do not recommend !!! Read Less
