Super funky and fun atmosphere whole "bar" motif was creative. Not very relaxing and I didn't get the service I expected. My MIL surprised me and treated me to a mani-pedi. We were about 30 min early as we were driving in and didn't want to be rude and show up late. No problems: good company. Just sat and chatted. We were seated about 5 maybe 10 min late (cool chairs, btw), and my MIL pedi began immediately. For a basic pedi (the mojiToe), she got a long soaking, scrub, mas...sage, and time taken on her paint. Mine started 10-15 min after hers, but ended within 2-3 minutes of hers. I asked (since my toenails are sad, and thick) for the color to be put on the very edges. She said sure, but it didn't happen. My MIL scheduled us for the manicure Shooter. Basic mani. She had no idea I had SnS on my nails and it'd need to be soaked off. No worries, my technician put the foil on while I was waiting for my pedi to begin and they soaked off while she was working on my feet (yes, it took a few minutes of my pedi time-still ended at same time as MIL). I asked for French manicure, but as her next appt had already come in, she told me she didn't have time for that, so I said just a clear coat. My nail service ended again at the same time as my MIL. She, however, had her nails soaked, her hands exfoliated, a hand and forearm massage, and 3 coats of polish put on. My nails were shaped and groomed, and a clear coat put on (1, maybe 2 layers). I asked if I could use the lotion when she was finished (as she was getting up to leave me), and she took a minute to give me a brief hand massage with the lotion there. Their website says you get a choice of smells for mani (lemon tonic twist or tropical citrus Cosmo) and for the pedi (same choices), but I never chose - and my hand massage was with the handy lotion there at the station. Neat place. Seems very cool if you want funky nail art. Not relaxing (music dropped lots of words I am just not okay with- I'm probably just old) and I felt like I was rushed, even though we had appts and were early. Didn't complain. Tipped well. I was referred to this place by a wonderful hair stylist! I said “well I’ll go one time and see if I like it”. One year later, this is the ONLY place I will even let touch my nails! Klaryssa is the BEST! Any idea or concept you can dream of, she can do it! Each time I leave, I look at my nails like “Damn! I've been here three times total, Liz is amazing and has done my nails the first two times, the third time was a few days ago and another girl did my nails, I was running 5 minutes late so I called to let them know, I got there and the girl, I believe her name was clarissa let me know she was late finishing up her current client, I said okay and waited about an hour for her, once she sat me she asked what I wanted, she didn't trim or push back my cuticles, rushed reshaping and refilling them, I can see the difference of my fill and older acrylic.. My pinky nails are almond while the rest are coffin shape, she did a take spider with two black jewles, which have fallen off and I got these a few days ago. My pointer bail has cracked and then fell off, and I do paper work, filing and some minor typing, yet my last set were longer and didn't break. Upon leaving I gave her a nice tip of 20 bucks then realized she forgot my top coat on some of my nails because they were sticky and gunky so another nail tech did it for me, my nails look terrible, I would only recommend this place if you get Liz, otherwise don't go. My daughter and I have been to this nail salon several times before and had wonderful experiences. Well he hadn't been there in a while so we decided to go last Friday to get our nails done. I got the acrylic overlay on my nails as always and my daughter got a brand new full set. So everything went well and my daughter was so happy with her nails when we left the salon as was I. With the exception that my nails looked a little ameturish. Well this is what upsets me the most. We paid $200 for the both of us and left $20 tips for each       "nail tech". So that Friday night we got home and went about our business and left to head out of town for the weekend. Well not even 5 hours after my daughter had her nails done one of the nails popped off and I mean the entire nail. It literally looked like lee press on nail.  The next day another one popped off. Today one more came off and it hasn't even been a DAMN week. SMH. I had some jewels added to my nails and what do no my jewels started falling off on Saturday. I don't know if the women that did our nails are experienced enough to work at this salon. I've been getting my nails done for a long time and I witnessed several mistakes being made in the process of getting my nails done. I am not the type of person to ever complain let alone leave a bad review but this was just way to much. $200 down the drain. Oh and I called the salon on Tuesday so that I could speak to the owner but she was with a client so I left a message for her to call me back. I loved it here. Appointments are best, but its worth the wait. I got glamed out nails with all the bling i could want. They really know what looks good, as well as its a friendly place. Came in for a fill two days ago from out of town. Paid $50 for a fill of stiletto nails. Asked if they could do stiletto nails before I came. The shape is fine yes but one of my nails already broke. When doing stiletto nails the foundation is important so the nails don't break easily. I've been wearing nails for almost 10 years and the only time my stilettos break is when somebody really doesn't know how to do them. You can talk about the "cheap" salons and the type of ambiance all you want but my go to salon for a fill is about $30 and they never break. If my nails would've lasted for two weeks I wouldn't have only given two stars but two days is just sad.  It's a very pretty salon but in my personal opinion the quality of the work doesn't match the price. I visited Bleu Canvas after another very disappointing pedi/mani at a highly rated salon in the area. I am a hair stylist and love to be pampered like I do my clients, so I guess I may expect a bit more when I am the client. Well let me tell you Gina did not disappoint!! She is amazing! Not only was she friendly and sweet as pie, she is an amazing artist! My nails are almost 2 weeks out and still look fresh! Also ladies, she doesn't use a drill on your nails!!! Big plus!! I had an appointment at 5:45 but did not get seen till 6:50ish or maybe 7. Super disappoint because this has never happened to me before. The nail lady was chatting it up with the person in front of me and with her co workers. She only checked up on me once and I even heard her say "we're good on time" while I've been waiting for over an hour. What's the point of making a reservation when you're not even going to be seen at the time or around the time you scheduled for? It's super sad because I've recommend this place to many people. I own a hair salon, so you can imagine my hands are wet and in color ALL DAY LONG.  As a matter of fact, most times my hands look like mechanic hands.  Which is exactly the opposite of what I want them to look like.  So I took a leap and decided to get gel on my nails AGAIN.  This tends to be a slippery slope for me because I wreck it so quickly I have to get it changed about every 8 days.  As you can imagine my nails become paper thin and a mess in no time flat, then Im back on a merry-go-round of addiction that doesn't turn out good for me.  Not to mention they are just little nubs that can't grow past the ends of my working class hands because they are the equivalent of crepe paper....Until I met LIZ... now I have AMAZINGLY strong, long, gorgeous nails.  I don't know what voodoo she knows but I've gotten about 5 sets from her now and my nails are so strong, long and pretty I get compliments everywhere I go.  Even with the insane abuse I put them through I don't get a chip or a lift and they have all lasted past the two week guarantee. (yes, that's right they have a two week guarantee) I can almost make it to 3 weeks... this seems just insane to me.  I'm practically changing tires in my line of work.  (not really but I'm hard as sh*t on my nails) I did take the advice of the owner Diana and get Hard Gel put on my nails now that I have length so that the "flex"my nails have doesn't make me crazy.  I love it!If you are searching for quality work that LASTS.  Value for your money spent, this is the place.  If you like nail art, these girls have the talent to do it.  Bring any photo, they can pull it off.  I have not had hands this pretty in my life... I wish I lived in Austin just because of how awesome this place is! I called in the morning and was able to get back in the same day. From the moment I walked in I was warmly greeted, given a glass of pink champagne with blueberries and seated at the nail bar. My nail tech Ila, don't know if I spelled it right, was so nice and super competent in her craft. This place has a super cool and hip vibe, so if you're fashion forward like me, you'll enjoy the fact that they do out of the box nail art. My great search for the best gel manicure in town led me to Wet Canvas Nail & Beauty Bar. I may have found it. I walk into the non-fussy entrance that isn't indicative of the interior decor. Inside is lush fabrics, bumpin' beats by all the hottest bands, desperately hip staff, and dark, cool colors. There are Beetlejuice striped walls, metallic, faux crocodile skin stools, picture frame pedicure stands with rich, blue velvet seats, and chandeliers hung from the tall ceilings. It's upscale, chic and borderline gaudy. We are off to a good start.I pick out my gel color, black of course, and sit down at one of the silver barstools after being directed to. I'm offered one of their signature cocktails with champagne and blueberries and immediately say yes. Diana, who is doing my nails, is wearing the latest and trendiest chrome manicure (great marketing) and I'm sold - that's what I want. I pick out a beetle-like color shifting chrome and we are on our way. She meticulously paints my fingers first, thumbs last and presses the mica powder on my freshly painted nails to reveal the most gorgeous manicure I've ever seen. I'm already obsessed. I mention in the beginning that I've been researching how to do this myself and she walks me through the process, as if she really wanted me to learn. What a treat. I'm presented with the bill and told about a Yelp deal that I take them up on and $50 dollars later, I'm out the door. What an amazing experience. This was my first time getting coffin nails done. I usually just do gel on my real nails. I haven't don't fake nails is soooo long. I got coffin nails bc I'm going to Vegas, so it's a good excuse to do something different. I loved my results. I hope to do this more often! My appointment was scheduled for 5, but we didn't start until 5:25. I didn't get out of there until 8:30 - this includes dry time for the polish. But remember: she had to do a full set from scratch and I got some glitter designs on them. You get what you pay for. She paid close attention to detail and made sure everything was perfect.
