Received very poor service. I went here for a gel manicure and pedicure a few weeks ago and was astonished at how hurriedly the techs rushed through everything. It was like it was a race to see how fast they could get it done. It felt nothing like the relaxing, enjoyable, pampering experiences I've had at at other south Arlington nail salons. I didn't know whether this is how Hot Nails does their business, trying to get quantity of sales vs. quality of service, or if these nail techs were just in a hurry to get done and go home. I decided this could have been a bad day for these techs, we all have bad days, and decided I'd give Hot Nails another opportunity.I went in this evening before 6:00pm. They close at 7:00. I let them know that I needed to have my gel nail polish removed, and I'd return for a manicure tomorrow when I had more time. Now, even though I wasn't needing extensive services, I was still a paying customer. (Gel polish removal is $10.) However, I was not treated like one. I was led to a nail station where I sat alone and waited for 15 minutes. During this 15 minutes I watched 4 workers sit around chatting or playing on their phones. I also watched customers who came in after me get greeted and assisted immediately. I looked at the clock and decided I'd wait 2 more minutes before I walked out. The manager happened to come by and I got eye contact with her to ask what the deal was. She said to just stay seated that someone would be assisting me soon. 5 minutes later a man walked over and abruptly said, "Can I help you?!", with a tone that sounded agitated and put out. "Yes sir. I'm here to have my gel polish removed please.", I replied. "You don't want manicure?!", he said, again in a tone that seemed almost disgusted that I would even dare to waste his time. "I'm not going to get a manicure this evening but I do need my polish removed please." He did remove my nail polish, but he also removed the top half of my nails. The manner in which he aggressively and hurriedly took my gel polish off was something I've never ever experienced, after having received probably 3 dozen gel manicures in the past several years. Basically he only left the acetone and foil wraps on my nails for less than a minute and used the abrasive nail file to saw off the polish. I've had techs have to use the file on occasion with little stubborn pieces of gel polish that won't lift off after several minutes of being soaked in acetone, but this was different. He wanted to get done as fast as he could with no regard for me or my nails. I came in with strong healthy nails and left with thin, rough, damaged nails. South Arlington has many many nail salons to choose from. I will be visiting the competitors of Hot Nails from now on. There is no reason to settle for this substandard service. Read Less
