Was looking for a place to get a pedicure for myself and my SO (who needed one badly) and found this shop around where I was. I wanted to pay no more than $20-25 for a simple pedicure that included the massage and foot spa. I'll break my experience down into three factors. Atmosphere/cleanliness: not the cleanest nail salon I've been to nor the prettiest. It definitely felt dated and unsanitary. You can notice a lot of dirt on the floor which was surprising just siting in the waiting area (should have noted this as a red flag) I also noticed that they did not sanitize the foot baths after each use, not sure if other nail salons usually do this or what the routine is but it was alarming. Service: everyone was pretty friendly, they were laughing at my SO because he kept flinching. They made sure we got everything we needed and the massage was nice and long, it included hot rocks and lotion/oilsPrice: for a $20 pedicure I think we got what we payed for. Not the prettiest shop but it got the job done. I would not have spent $30 there, you can find much better shops for that price. I really just needed a quick fix to remove my old dip nail polish which was starting to crack and I worried would split my nail below the cuticle if I didn't address it ASAP. I remembered a coworker telling me there was a nail salon nearby that was pretty cheap and did a reasonably good job but since she's no longer here I relied on Google. They've got almost 4 stars on there and are just down the street so I figured this was the place. It was $15 to remove the old polish and $20 for a basic mani so I figured why not upgrade to a quick mani?
The salon is perfectly located behind a gas station- this should have been my first warning. Walking in, I was concerned about cleanliness but figured since it was a quick mani and I had no open cuts on my hands, I would be reasonably safe despite the run down condition of the salon. I sat for a bit with my hands in acetone to let the polish melt off and took in the scene. I wondered when, if ever, the last time this place had a state inspection because it was pretty gross. I also wondered how (and WHY) there appeared to be two other women in there who were regulars.
The woman who did my nails did not cut them with a clipper, even though I asked her to. She told me she was filing them down and that would accomplish the same thing. Ok, except now my nails are not all the same length. A blind person could have probably done better at that. Then she pushed my cuticles back with her fingernail. At first I didn't think anything of this as I thought after she finished removing my old polish she would surely do it properly. Nope! Then she forced me to pay before she actually painted my nails. I begrudgingly handed over my card and tipped her with her watching my every pen stroke. Then she basically slapped the polish on my nails, painting over my overgrown cuticles (grrr!) so that looks terrible. Before I even left two of my nails were smudged. I'm still debating if I should call my credit card company to dispute this charge because honestly this was no service at all.
Ladies, you get what you pay for. If you like wasting money and leaving with a disappointing manicure, then head on down to this shady hole in the wall. If you prefer actually enjoying the service you receive and not having to feel shame at what's painted on your fingers and toes, then go to one of the gazillion other more reputable (and sanitary) nail salons in the DFW area. You've been warned!
UPDATE: I called the salon to tell them I was unhappy and ask for a refund on the manicure portion (which is only a few dollars) and she said I'd have to come in so she could REMOVE my polish before refunding me $5. That's the most absurd thing I've ever heard and also a terrible way to run a business. Then again, not sure I would expect more from a nail salon behind a gas station. Read Less

When I was getting the full set she quickly filed my nails and pushed back my cuticles with her FINGERNAILS!! This really upset me because she didn't even take the time to properly care for my nails && it hurt! Then I sat in a chair for 15 minutes while she started on a client who had arrived after me. Shortly after another technician walked into the salon, put her things on the table and began working on my feet ..WITHOUT WASHING HER HANDS!! I'm really bummed because I wanted to like this place but they definitely cut corners and it shows in their work. If you want something cheap and are not worried about quality, this is the place for you. I originally came in looking to get powder "dip" nails. Once I saw their selection I wanted to leave so bad but it was 7pm and one of the only places close by open till 8 so I stayed and got gel nails instead. They maybe had 12-16 powders to choose from and none were that pretty. Yikes! The lady made me feel comfortable with my choice. I didn't like that they changed the person that started working on me to someone else because the only reason I felt okay trusting them with my nails was because of who started to help me out. Anyways, nails themselves turned out okay. There wasn't any terrible issues and it's been a week and they still look okay. The lady who helped me kept messing up a little but she kept on fixing it so it was an okay experience. I probably won't come back here again unless it's another late evening and I HAVE to get my nails done right then and there. Read Less

Overall my mani/pedi was great for the price!! One of the better ones near my work I have been to for sure Polish is smooth, not clumpy and my cuticles look great. Two complaints though:1- I picked an OPI polish regular polish bottle and because the bottle said intense shine they wanted to charge me $2 extra each for my nails and toes. What? It was a regular polish, not gel or anything fancy. I looked up the price of regular OPI vs Intense shine and they are the same price for the bottle....hmmm...kinda a rip off to me.2- One of biggest pet peeves is when they wear rubber gloves for the massage part. It does not in any way feel relaxing. I don't mind while they do the "clean up" work but for the actual massage part I just don't like it one bit. I would consider coming back but when I make the appointment I will request someone who will remove the gloves before massaging and pay better attention to the polish I pick. Read Less

After a bad experience at Castle Nails in Addison, I decided to give this place a try based on the "star recommendations". First off, they don't offer nextgen, so I opted for pink/white fill. The salon itself was pretty dirty, the area by the sink/trash can is just downright gross. She cracked my thumbnail by pressing so hard to try and "clip" it. Instead of replacing that nail, she just put the fill on top of the crack and of course it shows through. After she drilled all the prior nails off my fingers, she just dumped the shavings on the floor. I'm sure my face was quite comical as I was utterly shocked. The quality of the fill was ok, but wasn't anything I would go back for. For my fill, she didn't take the "white part" all the way to the edges so it looks weird from the side. I did like that she offered buffing instead of polish. She attempted to massage my arms with my watch, ring on, The only positive about this place is the cheaper price but I'm a firm believer in you get what you pay for. Maybe my 3rd salon in Addison will be a success, I don't consider this one at all. Read Less

I absolutely love this place. Amazing pedicure! After only visiting twice, the ladies remembered what service I get and the color I chose the previous visit. They are super nice and very gentle!Deluxe pedi (sea salt soak, exfoliating scrub, peppermint mask complete with hot towel wrap, and hot stone leg/foot massage) for a mere $25 is absolutely the way to go! A regular pedicure is $20, so it's a steal for $5 more. I've tried a bunch of places in Addison & Dallas. Most are over priced ($35+) with lousy service. These ladies give a really good massage and they always do a thorough job.The caveats: -This is not a luxury zen like spa. They have the leather massage chairs for pedis, but if you're looking for massive TVs and decadent decor, you will be disappointed. -I read a review stating that the nail polish choices were not up to par. I disagree (my friends and I have always been able to find what we were looking for), but if you want the newest collection colors or 1000 choices, you will not find it here. -They don't always have a ton of staff (3-4 people working during weekends). You may have to wait on occasion or you can call before you come. I feel like this is pretty standard for most nail places.I come for a relaxing experience, great pedi, and the amazing affordable extras. I couldn't be more pleased! I highly recommend! Read Less

You get what you pay for here. Very rushed job. I went in for a full set and pedi. The prices are good, The full set was $20 and the pedi was $20. Otherwise, spend the extra money and time going somewhere else for cleanliness, quality and customer service . Read Less

My second time here decided to give them a second try, they didn't even offer water (I'm pregnant and it was hot) but offered it to the next two customers. And they turned on the ac for them. What a way to treat customers. The owner doesn't know what customer services is apparently or picks and chooses who to offer to. Also the chair was broken, kind of ghetto. My second and last time here, my old salon is 25 miles away I d rather go there and get better treatment. Read Less

Got a mani/pedi. I was in and out quickly and the price was reasonable. The pedicure was great. Hot stones and a good massage. They took their type which was nice. My only problem is that my manicure started chipping in ONE day. I'm used to get too coats or at least OPI. You can buy drug store top coats that don't chip your nails this quickly. I can do my own finger nails so a repainted isn't such a big deal but they definitely need to have something that makes your nails last. Read Less

I work near this place and I had lunch next door, so I walked in to get my eyebrows waxed. The salon is clean and it was not busy at the time. They did a good job on the wax, so I came back a few days later to get my powder dip nails done. The price noted on the board was $35.The lady working on my nails did a very good job, she took a long time doing it, but she worked on my nails very carefully and with attention to detail.I did not like that when she gave me the total, it was $5 more than what the sign said, when I asked why she said that is because they had to take my previous nails off. When you are getting a powder dip all places remove previous nails for free.I will not be back because the I can go to other places that take half the time and charge less. Read Less

Read Less

They seriously did such an amazing job! For $5 more, I upgraded my spa pedicure to the deluxe, and it is so worth it! It's not an upscale venue by any means, but their pedicures are the cheapest around! Plus, they take their time and give a decent massage! The only thing I really didn't like is that they don't have liners for their foot baths, but other than that, it was great! Read Less

I tried this place since the reviews stated that it was a great experience for the price. The place is not super clean. Dao is very attentive who did my mani, but I was disappointed in my pedi. I wouldn't even call what I got a pedicure massage. The technician hardly applied any pressure even after asking several times nicely. She did a decent job on the polish on my toes.

Read Less
