I had a very good experience with this salon for both myself and granddaughter. I will say that the older lady beside me can't say the same thing. She had a male employee as I had a 30 something girl. The poor lady beside me was almost in tears and her fingers had bled. If you go in ask for a female employee. Very considerate and gentle. My wife had called yesterday to find a certain nail tech that had moved locations. She asked for her by name, she was told the woman worked there and she made a 5:00 appt for the next day, today. Today, she called to move up the appt to 2:30 and she was told to come in. Guess what?  She went in and the woman doesn't even work there!!!  The man had no idea what she was talking about. My wife wishes that the employees at YSL nails would ...slow...down...and...just...listen.  All they would say is "sit down" " sit down".   She felt they were deceptive on the phone just to get her to come in. I went to YSL Nails on South 14th Tuesday, May 2nd to get my false nails removed. First i waited quite awhile before anyone even asked me what I needed. Then the woman that ended up helping me shouted to me while still working on someone else's nails. The lady literally ripped my nails off. As she was doing it, I was flinching and pulling away. She kept asking if I was ok and if it hurt, and I kept telling her it hurt really bad. She just said "No, no. You're fine." I left yesterday with three bleeding nails, one of which you can literally see when my skin was torn off. I cried the entire drive home. I have never had such a bad experience at a nail salon. I went here to get eyelash extensions. Paid a total of $50 bucks. After she put them on, my eyes burned for three hours. I could barely open them to pay. I asked a friend to come get me as driving wasn't an option due to not being able to keep my eyes open due to the pain. I called back today and explained what happened, and told them I wanted them removed. No apology, and they charged me to remove them. I WILL NOT be coming back or referring them. This has become my regular salon in Abilene for pedicures.  I've had three here and all were wonderful.  Love the disposable liner and they gave me my own package of tools to bring back with me each trip.  I've never waited, always been offered a beverage, and they are accommodating to my requests (I'm very ticklish and also had foot surgery, so I'm picky).  I wish they had more colors to choose from, but that's my only complaint. Just moved to Abilene and was looking for an authentic nail shop around the area. This place is very comfortable and quiet with good music. Didn't feel awkward for being at a new spot. The guy that did my nails did a great job, even helped me fixed my pinky when I accidentally scratched on it while drying. The other lady was also very friendly and chatted with me and also offered me art work. Definitely will try next time. Got a full-set for $28 and I tipped $7. Not bad at all for what I've expected. I wouldn't usually do this because I also work in the spa business. I'm visiting so my sister in law recommended this place. Pedicure was good nails service okay but our wax experience was horrible. A nightmare. 2 days before my brothers wedding and my mom got welts and scabs on the places she was waxed. Hope this dosnt happen to anyone else. Read Less

I'm a very satisfied customer.  I received a "classic pedicure" for $25.  The pedicure was fantastic.  The older gentleman who did my pedicure was great, he paid very close attention to detail and took his time.  He definitely didn't rush through it, the entire thing took around 45 minutes to an hour.  I will be returning.  The atmosphere is great too.  They play relaxing music and have nice decorations.  Very clean and quiet (even on a Saturday!). Used to live in Abilene. Almost every time I visit I need my nails done so YSL is my go to place. Clean, professional, good prices! I have gotten shellac several times and they removed my full set that was desperately needing to be off. I like YSL because of the sanitation and, depending on when you go and who you get, you get a nice pedicure. I've had fantastic pedis with Lee and so so ones with others. I would give them more stars if they would improve the consistency with all technicians.  They are pricey for the higher end pedis so if you choose one it should be consistently good.  Overall a clean and good place.10/31/14 Updating them to 5 star, they really are my favorite nail place here.  Just find the person you like best.  Please note, I only get pedis,  I rarely ever wear fake nails, so this review is about their pedis.
