My nail polish had bubbles in it which I didn’t notice until I was already down the road, so I did my errands and came back. When I came back, the manager looked at me cross eyed when I tried to explain that I wanted them fixed. Then, when she finally came up with a solution, the guy who did my nails looked at me like I was the dumbest person he had ever met (name is Johnny). When I was leaving, he smirked at me and said “see you tomorrow” like I was going to come back and complain which was just so rude!! And now 5 (yes 5) days later, the only nail he put on cause it broke is now breaking from the outside to almost the middle. I have been coming to this salon since it opened. Until today, I've always had a great experience. We went there for my daughter's birthday. When me came in we clearly stated we would like manicures and pedicures. We chose the Ellis island pedicure and again, I statedd we wanted "the works". My pedicure was fantastic. The young man did a great job. My daughter said she enjoyed her pedicure too. A different person did my nails. When ask what color I would like, I said I'd lik...e dip nails and chose a color from the samples. I thought I was going to have a spa type manicure to go along with my fantastic pedicure. I have farm hands so this is a real treat for me. What I received was dipped nails. I can paint my nails at home. I came to a salon for a manicure. When I expressed to the nail tech the this was not the experience I was expecting she just said " oh, we don't do that with dip nails." I then expressed to the receptionist at check out that I was disappointed with my nail experience. I reaffirmed with her that I had ask for a manicure and pedicure when I came in. She was in agreement that I had made that request. She stated that they assumed I changed my mind when I ask for dip nail color. Never once did anyone one say the were sorry that I didn't not receive the service I had requested. Nor, did they make any attempt to fix the problem. I ask to speak with a manager and was told that he rarely visits the store but that they have a Facebook page. I ask if I could have a phone number to contact the manager and was told that she would have him call me. This was very poor customer service. When I expressed that this would be our last visit to the salon. I was told "that's unfortunate." A little decent customer service could have turned this around. I am very disappointed. I just want to say that this is the best place i have ever been to get my nails done!! Anthony did my nails and he did an Amazing job!! Everyone there was so friendly. I came in and within less than a minute of waiting they had a chair for me on a busy night the day before Valentine's day. I will never go anywhere else!! Read Less

I came in for acrylics and the man didn’t cut my cuticles or anything, he just put the nails on. He was very distracted, talking on the phone for the first half and then made awkward comments the rest of the time. He also filed my nails so aggressively that my skin is raw on some fingers and one was bleeding afterward. A few are also cracking and starting to wear off already, and they look bubbly. Worst $40 I’ve ever paid for nails. The whole visit was uncomfortable and felt rushed and impersonal. Probably won’t be returning here, and that takes a lot for me to say. Read Less

OH MY GOSH!!!!!!! Let me start by saying that I have no idea why I haven’t been going here my entire life. From the moment I walked in I was treated like a queen! Everyone there is so friendly and hospitable. It is a very calming environment as well. I came in without making an appointment and they had me in a chair almost immediately. Also, my nails were a DISASTER when I walked in and by the time I left I was a whole new girl! Lena did my nails and she was amazing and very gentle! I really needed a fill in but ,after a long work day, I did not want to drive to Knoxville to the place I had previously gone. I decided to give Manhattan Nail Bar a try since it was on the way home. I was very pleased with how clean the establishment was. I also loved my technician, Anthony! He did a FANTASTIC job on my nails. (p.s. if you’ve never tried dip powder on your nails, I highly recommend it!) My nails look and feel so natural! I received quick service especially on a busy night without making an appointment! I get my nails done every two to three weeks was going to another nail salon but the woman that was the owner sold it to someone else... well long story short I have been looking for a new nail salon for over a year i believe and this guy at this place is my new nail salon for sure! I never treat myself to manicures and pedicures – maybe once a year, but before my class reunion coming up this weekend, I decided to splurge. It was possibly the worst mani/pedi I've ever had. It felt rushed with a lack of care. I had to ask the technician to trim my toenails, and he only trimmed the big toes at that. He didn't file them evenly, and he didn't even smooth the ridges. He was very rough with the callous smoother, and my heel bled. It was painful! Then I got onl...y one coat of the polish, so I did not get the true color, and the polish doesn't even cover all of the nails to the nailbed. I should've said something. I got a French manicure on my fingernails, and the only color used was white on the tips. I have never had a French manicure without the flesh-toned topcoat to give a nice natural and finished look. I am very disappointed with my experience I had today at Manhattan nail spa! I never thought I would be treated horribly by the manager, there was no making the customer (me) happy at all with my visit, as a manger myself I would never treat a customer the way I was treated. Top notch service, quality products, and an elegant and welcoming atmosphere. Several of my friends come here as well and we all just love it. I've yet to leave any session dissatisfied! ! The staff is wonderful. My daughters and I gave them a shot just after they opened. Usually a new establishment goes through a "learning curve." I really wanted to give this place a better review. If you go for manicures/pedicures to relax and zone out then this probably isn't the place to go to. They will continuously chat with you from start to finish, there was a screaming baby right beside me while I was trying to relax, and it cost over $100 for 2 pedicures without anything special included for the price. Unfortunately, it wasn't worth it to me. I'm still searching for a great nail salon in and around Knoxville. Sorry Manhattan, I won't be returning. Read Less
