Being in NYC for 12 years where nail shops are everywhere and you can get a mani/pedi for $30, I think P&M is over-priced for what you get. The place was pretty and the staff was nice, but $105 for two pedicures...one of which was not being painted at all with glasses of wine with 3 sips? The whole "no water" thing kind of hinders their abilities. You really have to get the feet wet for calluses, at least I think it works better. They claim it's cleaner, but I feel like the cleanliness factor should be about the facility and tools which I assume were clean. The massage was good but after the lotion dried and I looked at my feet the next day, they were really unevenly cut and the cuticles were kind of gnarled. My friend's paint job was nice which was what mattered...it was her bday. Maybe they thought, since I am a guy, I wouldn't care. I like pedicures bc they keep me from getting ingrown nails, probably bc I don't cut them right. I guess it's just "not knowing what you're missing" if you've never been anywhere else. Read Less

Had a wonderful experience today at Poppy & Monroe. The pedicure was so gentle and clean. I didn't miss foot soaks or the massage chair that you get at most nail salons. The environment is so relaxing, the staff is friendly and the items for sale are luxurious. Great nail salon and mini boutique. Will remember to shop there when I need gifts for dear friends. Best manicure of my life. I’ve never had gel polish live up to the claims, usually chipping by day 2, but I’m well into the week and my nails look like they did day one. Landed on this place looking for a nail salon without all the harsh chemicals which is hard to find & usually keeps me from going to nail salons. The customer service, color options & overall service was great. You know the staff are going to give a great manicure, but the pricing is a bit more than I personally would want to pay for such a service. Since it's a more natural place, interestingly, some things like cuticle trimming is left out. It was also difficult to schedule an appointment which resulted in having to go on 2 different days, 2nd was the Pedicure which happened to be when a fire inspector was excusing himself through the tight quarters & clanking around so it detracted from attempting to get away & have a relaxing experience. I have two different reviews. The first was for for a sugaring appointment- amazing all around. The location and the shop is darling in all ways. Two days later, I came with some friends for mani/pedi treatment. We were not considered a group and didn't want to be. We were completely fine being there on our own and not next to each other and we made that clear to the staff multiple times. However, the entire time, we felt like we were an inconvenience to the staff. The manager kept coming over reminding the staff of how much time they had left and even one of my friends just ended up with a polish change. The actual manicure and pedicure were wonderful but the feeling we got while we were getting them was not a good one and far from relaxing. Again, the shop is incredible, we bought a few things and I would go back but I think the managers need to think about their customers experience a little more than we felt like they did. Read Less

I absolutely love how Yasheika does my manis and pedis. She's a very talented young lady and has such a warm personality. Another thing that I enjoy about Yasheika is that she has an excellent creative side to her as well, which I really appreciate when I'm in the mood for something different. She also pays extreme attention to detail. I can't recommend her enough. Yasheika definitely does 5 star work.The reason that I had to give 4 stars for my review is because I'm not an animal lover and the owner had her dog walking around while I was there Saturday morning. When I arrived in the main room to let them know who I had an appt with, etc  the dog began walking up to me. I stated that I don't like dogs. No one put the dog up. I then proceeded to the hall where the nail colors are and the dog comes walking out there too. This is the 2nd time that I've seen the dog there is why I'm mentioning it. The 1st was Jan or Feb of this year. The dog was walking around then & started licking my jeans as I was checking out. I stated at that time as well that I'm not a dog lover.The dog is pretty, but everyone is just simply not an animal lover & I didn't think this would even be an issue at a nail salon and boutique.Everyone seems nice. I was really looking forward to getting my nails done with my closest friends on Saturday, 8/5. Unfortunately I was told that they do not allow groups of 4 on Fridays or Saturdays because the larger groups might disturb the “regulars” that come in for services on Fridays and Saturdays. I am extremely disappointed. The four of us are responsible adults that would gladly pay the above average prices for services offered at Poppy & Monroe because from what I’ve seen, their business is all about having high standards and quality. I just moved to Nashville and when I saw that there was a place like Poppy & Monroe that existed for nails & more, I couldn’t wait to visit! I even had planned to get my wedding nails done here before I traveled back home to get married – there is nothing like Poppy where I am from. Unfortunately, since Poppy & Monroe doesn’t like to disrupt their regulars that potentially might come in on Fridays and Saturdays, my group and I will take our business elsewhere – and I will take my wedding prep business elsewhere as well. ps. Pretty salon & concept of natural services is great BUT... Extreme Attitude, Rude and no Customer Service. I was actually refused another appointment for BTW a nail treatment costing $75 before tip.... that I was told by the owner I'd need twice a month for 3 months to get my nails in shape. OK... I was willing to do that... so set my next appt for 8/5 & this morning 7/24 received a call from the owner cancelling my 8/5 appt... refusing me service because I'd asked the nail tech to do a tiny touch up on 2 spots she'd missed on my pedi during my drying time???!!! Really?! After just spending $45 plus a $10 tip for that pedi 3 days before. Evidently Poppy & Monroe feels like their service is worth high prices, they are above reproach & discriminating against their customers is OK. Does Poppy & Monroe understand Referrals are Major to a longstanding healthy business! Evidently you need to be someone who never asks for Any Type of Customer Service it's a Prima Donna staff and heaven help you if even a fraction of their treatment isn't all that! They hold themselves above reproach and you're off their list if you expect accountability or true care. My polish was sloppy. Read Less

I had a nice and relaxing time at Poppy & Monroe, the shop is super adorable and everyone is extremely nice. Unfortunately, though. Two days after my manicure, my nail polish is cracking pretty badly, which really stinks because I am in a wedding this weekend and don't have time to go back in and fix it. This is probably not the tech's fault more like the actual polish, but still aggravating to pay money to have my nails not hold up for two days. :( Also, I noticed that I didn't use the Uv light for my nails, making me think that maybe the polish I picked wasn't actually gel, & possibly this is why they cracked so easily? Poppy and Monroe is AWESOME! They use 100% all natural products and there are no smells, which is very important when allergic to all scents. EDITED 7/8: updating my review from 2 to 4 stars. Owners Sherri and Karen are clearly very dedicated and intent on ensuring every single customer has a good experience, which I think is pretty rare now. Sherri went the extra mile to hunt me down and extend an offer to come back in to redo my mani pedi. On my second visit, I was booked with Claire, who was adorable, bubbly, and equally as dedicated. (If you decide to book with P&M, this is who I recommend!) My polish has defin...itely lasted this time, and my visit with Claire was lightyears better than my first visit. I'm not as into chemical-free and environmental friendly products as I should be, but I also really appreciated that P&M commits fully to this--from the straws in the drinks, to water-free pedis, to all the products they offer. Lastly, it's pretty clear that this place is a big hit with just about everyone who gives it a shot because it was just as busy on a Wednesday morning at 11AM as it was on a Friday afternoon at 5PM, and most of the techs seemed to be on a first-name basis with the women in there. I will be back to give some of the other services a shot. I chose poppy and monroe because of the stellar reviews for my wedding mani pedi. I even went for the luxe on both. Pricing was high but based on reviews and the occasion, I decided to go for it. Totally not worth it. My nails looked mediocre, but not great. The polish (even on my toes) lasted no longer than 4 days, which apparently is part of the no-water gimmick. For the outrageous price I paid, I'd expect polish on my toes to last at least a week. And forget about getting some extra massage or anything else with the luxe mani OR pedi. Take your time and money elsewhere. If you're concerned about the formaldehyde, bring your own Zoya polish. I'm obsessed! I recently moved to Nashville and I was very nervous to find a new set of gals to trust in keeping me looking and feeling good. Poppy & Monroe is my favorite part of living in Nashville! I have enjoyed everything from a pedicure to dermaplaning and many treatments in between. Everyone is friendly but there are three special ladies that keep me coming back. Claire is wonderful in the mani/pedi world and next time I am getting one of her awesome designs done...ask her about the article she will be in! I cannot say enough great things about Katje and Courtney. These ladies are simply nice, genuine and just care about you. The staff created my loyalty to Poppy & Monroe but I also love the location and atmosphere. I am always purchasing jewelry, candles and various products. They have the most beautiful selection of colors and all of the products they use are safe /non-toxic. I've never felt so well taken care of at a nail salon before. I was at Poppy & Monroe in November and had a pedicure and there still is NO chips in the polish. Now if my toenails wouldn't grow they would still be perfect. Lol. Poppy & Monroe is such a delight, I can't get enough! The people, products, and place are positively perfect! I know I'm getting a safe, clean, high quality, customized, professional service. I love that the owners, the brilliant Karen and Sherri, support and highlight other local businesses and artisans, and they employ truly skilled and pleasant folks. Their fees are just right for the quality and attention each client recieves. Plus, the mimosas flow freely! I visited Poppy & Monroe with my best friend for some pampering prior to her wedding. It is extremely clean and a gorgeous environment to boot. We were really happy with the services we received and would recommend this place to anyone!
