This review is not so much for Blownaway Salon but for my particular stylist within the salon.  Andrea Hale is amazing.  She always does a great job with my cut and color.  And since I have purple in my hair....that is a good thing!   My purple lasts me 5 weeks or so when she does it!  And when it does fade out, it always fades out so well.   She works with my crazy travel and work schedule too!   I would highly recommend her for your next do!  She does cuts, colors, permanents, relaxers, manicures, pedicures, waxing...... I don't think there is much she can't do!  And she has the years of experience to back her as well :)  Go visit her.  You won't be disappointed. Read Less

I live in Signal Mountain which is about 15 minutes outside Chattanooga. I was in town last weekend for Mother's Day and looking for a blowout. This place was recommended to me by a friend. Being very particular with my hair, I was a little leery. I thought, it's just a blowout what could it hurt lol. I called and made an appointment with a stylist who I did not know. When I arrived, Aimee (I believed that's how she spells it) met me at the door and from that moment, was very... sweet and professional. She took her time, she carried on a conversation with me, and she did one heck of a job on this extremely long, thick, coarse, and dry head of hair that I have. I left there with a beautiful blowout! Great place for a pedicure. I received a pedicure & Gel nail manicure on Mother's Day for an upcoming wedding. I booked with Ty. He is amazing. He offered me a glass of wine & even offered to clean my jewelry while he was doing my manicure. I accepted on both counts. Very peaceful & relaxing setting. I love the idea of being able to go get my nails &/or feet done, and being in a private room without distractions. I got the high-end pedicure. There are three levels & they range from $25 to $50. I love the way the salon is set up with private suites so it is not so noisey, but most of all I love my stylist Sunny Lin. I've gone to him for at least 6 years and would follow him anywhere. I've lived in Lebanon the past 18 months and no one else but Sunny does my hair. Having him in a great salon makes the drive easier. Read Less

Can't vouch for all the stylists, but Rachel Carter did an awesome job taking me from dark brown to platinum blonde! Felt super comfortable with her (no hair anxiety) and turned out great! She knows what she's doing and I felt she was very honest about what my hair would and wouldn't do! She used great products and toner, and my hair feels super healthy. This was by far the best salon I have gone to! Very relaxing from the moment you walk into the door! And everyone is so friendly! But I have to take a min to brag on my hair stylist for a min she was absolutely incredible! Very thorough with her work, a great listener, and an over all wonderful woman! My review is more about the customer service as a whole. The stylist did a good job with the cut. However, I used their online scheduling tool and what a mess!!! They changed my appointment three times after I scheduled it through their scheduler so that by the time I arrived, I was getting emails and texts with contradictory show-up times. I went by the time in the scheduler and turns out I was wrong. They made me wait 30 minutes and acted a little put out that I'd shown up "30 minutes early." That was the exact point when I knew I wouldn't return again. I got my hair cut and moved on with my life. Six weeks later I get a reminder about my "next appointment." I'd never set one. I logged into the scheduler and, sure enough, there was an appointment with no way to change it. I emailed and asked them to cancel it and they said they would. Nope. Up to the day of the appointment, I was still getting reminders. I went on with my life again and guess what happened six weeks later? Yep, another appointment had been set for me. I emailed to ask them to fix it and they told me that the stylist had set me up for a recurring appointment and they'd fix it. They didn't seem to understand that setting someone up for a recurring appointment was NOT OKAY and just said they'd make sure I didn't get the emails anymore. And that is my problem with them. No true acknowledgment that it is indeed wrong to automatically schedule someone to come in for a haircut every six weeks without her permission. It appears that if you use the scheduler to make an appointment at this location, you're automatically consenting to return every six weeks for the rest of time. If you try to go in and change the appointment, it won't let you because it was made by someone else, so you can't even cancel or move it without making a phone call. That kind of defeats the "convenience" of an online scheduler.I hate to resort to a Yelp review but my emails didn't seem to be accomplishing the goal of making them acknowledge that this was inappropriate behavior. So if you choose to get your hair cut there, I would recommend using the phone instead of their "convenient" online scheduler. I've never used an automatic scheduler for a salon, so maybe this is how it always is? They lost my business over it and if they're automatically scheduling recurring appointments for people without their permission, I can't imagine how many no shows they have. Scheduling new customers for recurring appointments without permission is just aggressive and obnoxious. Read Less

I booked online the night before. I talked to someone who runs their Instagram account. I got a hold of Treva Groves. The hairstylist, I had booked for. We messages each other back and forth. I sent her pictures of ideas of what I would love my hair to look like. She did a cut, color, and highlighted my hair. I am so in love and will be back in 5 weeks! Save your money. I was in town for Valentine's Day and forgot my blow dryer. What woman wouldn't enjoy a little pampering so my guy dropped me off at Blown Away Beauty Bar. The customer service was less than desirable but the actual service was terrible. The young woman who did my blow out (1) asked if I had layers in my hair (anyone can see that I do) and (2) asked me to separate my bangs because "she has never had bangs and she doesn't understand them."  I had originally planned to also get lashes and a wax but after the poor service, I decided against it. The end result? I ended up going to Target to purchase a blow dryer so I could do my own hair.Save your money. Read Less
