I've had plenty of pedicures before and they're all pretty much the same. But what set The Woodhouse apart as they had private rooms for each pedicure chair. This gave a nice relaxing, spa feeling to the service. But on my last visit a couple of weeks ago, I was disappointed to discover that both chairs are on the same room now. I had such a wonderful massage experience today! What a great birthday present this was- much needed. Melinda was absolutely phenomenal! She applied the right amount of pressure, made me feel comfortable and relaxed; I almost fell asleep. The oils used smelt so good, the tea was amazing and the ambience and decor were awesome too! Hands down this is the BEST spa I have every been to!! My husband always gets me gift certificates to go here and I love it!! The relaxation room is beautiful and is sooo relaxing! When you are here they treat you like royalty which I love! Rachel did an excellent massage! She is good with deep pressure/deep tissue! I am reflecting back on my amazing massage from today with Juan. I have had massages all over the world and Juan is by far, the BEST therapist I have ever had. He has precision techniques that allow for intense muscle relief in 50 minutes. I am always beyond impressed with his skill set. Husband bought me the latest groupon and when I called to make an appointment this morning I was told they no longer took them. I made sure they knew it wasn't expired it had just been purchased. One of the best spa experiences I've ever had. I felt pampered the moment I walked in the door. They had SO many hot teas to chose from and a very comfortable lounge area in between services. I got a gift certificate for my birthday and Inwent yesterday and had a fantastic experience. I got the Organic discovery Facial and Sally was amazing! I will definitely be back to have that service again! I also got the Wild Lavender & Seaweed Sugar Scrub and I will say that it wasn't relaxing at all. It's not really the fault of the guy doing it as he was very professional. But they were out of Lavender scrub and had to use peppermint and then when the shower is happening, you have to hold your head up to avoid the water pooling around your face. My sister and I did a Two's Company package that my BIL got her for her birthday, and we were both unimpressed. The receptionists were not friendly, and our supposed to be hour massages were maybe 40 minutes at most. The facials were the highlight of our experience. The package sounded like we would receive the services side by side, but we were in our own rooms for each service. We were able to see and talk to each other during our pedicures only because a pocket door between the rooms that they opened. Unfortunately, we did not feel like we got our money's worth out of the experience as we both felt we needed to go for another massage upon walking out. I just had my first experience at Woodhouse and did the Renewal package I received as a gift (seaweed scrub, soak and massage). The minute I walked in, I was greeted warmly, instructed on exactly what to do and where to wait for my tech. She did a fantastic job asking me specific questions to tailor my massage to my needs. I got exactly what I asked for, and she checked in with me throughout my treatment to make sure I was ok with the pressure. I walked out pretty happy. Ugh. I hate to give one star because I normally love the service. The facials and massages here are always on point. I was given a $800 dollar gift card that allowed me to spend a full day at the spa. I was instructed to show up at 9 am and would be there until 5 pm. I was told lunch was included with this expensive AF gift. Well, guess what? I didn't get lunch. My lunch was the almonds and dried fruit in the waiting room. If someone spends that amount of money on something such as this, you'd assume the staff would make sure everything was to the client's liking. I left hungry (going 8 hours with no food is ridiculous when you are told you'll get it).The locker room was dirty and the trash cans are full. Glasses are left out and not put away or picked up. My lunch, aka the nuts and dried fruits in the waiting room, was not refreshed throughout the day. Maybe I'm just hangry, but for real...I will not be coming back. Read Less

Woodhouse Day Spa in Franklin is my go-to place for relaxation, massages and facials. From the minute you walk in the door you breathe in comfort and relaxation. The staff is top notch and the services are exceptional. The slippers actually fit (they think to ask you for your shoe size), the robes are luscious and don't pass up the hot tea while you get ready for your treatment. Highly recommend! Read Less

The atmosphere at Woodhouse is so relaxing, & I love the super comfy robes & great cinnamon tea they offer while you're relaxing between services. Jessica is a great massage therapist. I had a mini facial there a few months ago, & an illuminating facial earlier this month with the same esthetician whose name I unfortunately cannot remember. She was generally friendly and recommended some great products for my skin type. Ms. Bishop did my manicure. I love the CHD vinyl polish that's not as harsh on my nails as shellac but is still holding strong 11 days later albeit some very minor chipping. I'm a health care provider & wash my hands constantly, so I'm very pleased with the durability of the polish. Ms. Bishop is one of the sweetest, personable people I have ever met - I was so comfortable during my manicure, & we had great conversations; I felt like I had known her for years! Read Less

This place is super nice. You start off with a nice robe, slippers, warm neck wrap and tea offering. Go for the cinnamon spice tea, it's heavenly. The room was a nice temp and the bed heater was on. I also asked to start face down so my sinuses have a chance to clear out before I leave. The therapist asked me a few times about pressure and focused on my aforementioned problem areas. I wish I could rate the actual services this spa provides, however, I didn't even get that far. I called about two weeks in advance to book an afternoon of massages, mani and pedis for my husband and I to celebrate our anniversary. I was told that only one nail tech works on Sundays, which I thought was odd when I called in advance, but I said we have all afternoon so we could swap out. The morning of our appointment we left, made the 45 min drive down to the spa and arrived a little early, as instructed. As we pulled into the parking lot, we received a call that the massage therapist wasn't coming in so we wouldn't be able to have massages. At this point, we just cancelled the appointment. My wife and I were visiting Nashville for a few days and we saw a Groupon offer for a massage, facial and manicure. We booked appointments for both of us and then purchased the Groupon. On the day before our appointments we were called and told that one of the service providers had a death in the family and that we could only have one massage instead of two. We were told, however, that in the morning they would see about getting another provider to do the massage and that the manager would call us. Well the manager called but didn't seem to have a clue as to why they were calling. Ultimately it was determined that no replacement service provider could be secured. They gave us the option of keeping the massage "on file" or just canceling all together. Since we have no plans to return to Nashville we opted to cancel. We had to contact Groupon who were very nice and refunded our purchase without any issues. We then were able to book massage only appointments at Practical Massage and those massages were fantastic. I also want to add that our appointments were scheduled on the day before Thanksgiving and so part of me believes the reason for the "change" was due to that and not an actual death in the family. Beware with any discounts or groupons they'll bend over backwards to try to get you in, find out what you have and then say they're blacked out for months for that special. Booked us but then said they wouldn't have anything for 10 weeks but if we wanted to book at full price they'd be happy to assist. Have the emails the vernacular is laughable from a business. No stipulation mentioned on the groupon itself. Prices do not match quality across the board. There are much better options at or below the price point in the Nashville area. Read Less

I was my friends maid of honor and she wanted to do a spa day for her bachelorette party. So I went on groupon and found woodhouse day spa and me and 7 other girls bought groupons and when I called to book the appointment it was fine and I told them we had groupons and she said no problem just print them out and bring them in. So then, on the day of our appointment, one of the managers said we werent allowed to use the groupons because we had to book those appointments separately. I told her I did inform the lady I booked it with we had them and then she gave me this run around that we had booked FOOT massages and not body massages, but I told her that I spent time discussing what kind of deep tissue massage I needed on my shoulder. Then the lady proceeded to tell us they DONT EVEN HAVE A GROUPON AVAILABLE. I was MAD! So I said "so what is this?!" She was completely difficult and wasnt going to let us use the grouons and were going to charge us a 50 dollar cancellation fee if we left. So I told her to get someone above her and she got the owner and he allowed us to use the groupons, but we got NO special treatment of robes or slippers and were thrown in a room and it was a terrible experience. I recently purchased a massage for my boyfriend. It was a gift for his promotion. I was asked when I purchased the gift card if I wanted to include the gratuity. I did, of course, and had them add on an extra $20.I am really unhappy that you did NOT let him use the balance on the card for the tip. You told him that unless it specified it was for tip in your computer that you couldn't. What I'm wondering is WHY wasn't it specified, YOU asked me if I wanted to add it! Why would I add some weird odd amount if it wasn't for the tip? This makes zero sense. I feel like this is a scam to get us to spend that remaining money there instead of using it for gratuity. I am very disappointed and we will not be returning. I purchase a lot of gift cards from you for my clients and I will now find a more honest spa. I'm adjusting this review. I started with a 3 star rating, which Yelp defines as "A-OK", but after letting my skin rest for a week, I'm now to a 2 star if not one star.I visited Woodhouse for a facial. Unlike other reviewers, I was greeted warmly and shown to the relaxation area and women's changing room. The experience reminded me of the Escape Day Spa in Nashville, but on a smaller scale and lacking the polish. Something about the process seemed awkward and the spa is nice, but in need of an update and a paint job. I changed into my robe and slippers, waited in the relaxation room, tried to find water, realized they were out, tried to find yummy cookie snacks like they have at Escape, realized they wanted me to eat something healthy like trail mix, and resorted to filling out paperwork. Before long, it was my turn for a facial. The bed was heated, which was amazing and my esthetician did a good job of focusing on the service and not on selling me product. At the end, she suggested some products for my skin, which added another $200 to my total, and sent me on my merry way. At this point in time I was feeling pretty good about the process. It's an extremely pricey place and they looked at my skin under glaring bright lights, I assumed they knew things about my pores that even I didn't know. Unfortunately, within a day, my skin looked the worst I've seen it look in a long time. And I get plenty of facials. My skin wasn't purging, it was in full blown freak out mode. Also, my skin never had that after-glow that I've come to expect from facials. One week later and my skin is completely inflamed. I've been told that it is from overaggressive extractions. I have large inflamed bumps on my hairline and between my eyebrows and in places where I've never had a problem in my life. They are not zits, they do not come to a head, they are large, red, painful places of inflammation with smaller inflammations all over my face. I'm not sure if it's an allergic reaction or if I've been told correctly and it is in fact a result of over extractions, but I know that I would never ever ever recommend this spa to someone else. My face hurts!The worst part is that I purchased all those products while I was still happy. The spa let me bring the products back for store credit, which is a good solution, but at the same it's not. I would never go back and I wouldn't gift this type of experience to a friend. I just finished a massage at Wiodhouse so I want to write this while the experience is fresh on my mind.First, I will add a caveat that I am a recent transplant from San Francisco so my expectations are high.The ambiance is very relaxing and there is fresh cucumber water and healthy snacks in the waiting or relaxation room. The chairs were comfortable and there was a rack of various popular magazines to keep you busy while you wait. The women's bathroom has 2bathrooms and 1 shower. They have shampoo, conditioner, and body soap but I couldn't find lotion anywhere. The front staff was great and I didn't have any issues. I showed my groupon when I arrived and tipped when I left. Jessica did my massage and she was great! I booked a Swedish massage with a groupon.  The asked about focus points and what pressure I like. She was not chatty which I appreciated. I would definitely book with her again!Overall it was a great experience. I'm curious what their facials are like as the face products they had in the lobby all intrigued me. Here are some improvement points:- The back area and the room I had my massage in were cold! And I am not one who gets cold easily so I know some of my friends would have not been happy with the temperature. Usually when I have massages the rooms are more heated or the massage tables are heated. That would have improved my experience- I'm used to flipping twice during a Swedish massage. I like to end up facing the ceiling with a neck stretch ending the massage. I find my neck and shoulders get tense when I'm on my stomach. If it would have ended with a neck stretch, that massage would have been top notch!- the cute fireplace want on in the Ambiance room. - my tea was luke warm. The pros outweigh the rest for me and I will plan on going back! Read Less

Woodhouse Day Spa is beautifully decorated and serene. One could fall asleep in the lobby with the water feature and relaxing music playing overhead. Upon checking in, you receive a locker, plush robe and slippers. Then, before and after your service, you sit in a small room with comfortable chairs and my favorite - cucumber water. I've been here several times and am always pleased with the massages I've received. After the massage, you're offered a heated neck wrap and a cup of hot tea. For this particular visit, a group of 5 women purchased Groupons for a $59 massage. Upon checking in, the older lady at the counter advised us if we wanted to tip via credit card, we had to do it before our services. I thought that was a little odd. Then, a friend who was using her Groupon for a $130 agave nectar mani/pedi advised the lady she was going to tip in cash after her service. The woman responded by saying, "I want to remind you your service has a value of $130"... judging my friend by assuming she either wasn't going to tip or tip enough. We are all very generous tippers and always tip on the full value if using Groupon. She also assumed it was all our first visits there, I guess due to the Groupon - another wrong assumption. Out of the 5 of us, only 1 was new to Woodhouse. My beef is this - don't offer Groupon deals if you plan to treat the purchasers as second class citizens. Woodhouse has been the only day spa in the area I frequent, but after yesterday's treatment, I'll likely go elsewhere in the future. Read Less

Best Facial EVER. Liz did such an amazing job. It was literally the best facial I have ever had. I feel like spas are starting to get lazy as the last few facials I've had were super lackluster. Cleanse, exfoliate, mask, moisturize and that's it. I can do all that myself at home, so I'm looking for something extra when I pay for a spa service. Liz delivered! She did extractions, which is an absolute essential for a facial in my opinion. She also used an enzyme peel and a clay mask to help with my breakouts. The icing on the cake was the massage. She started with my neck and shoulders, and she massaged them a couple different times between treatments. Just when I thought it was over, she massaged my arms and hands too and finished off with a scalp massage. Heavenly!!!When you arrive, they take you to the women's restroom, and you are assigned a locker that closes with a unique four digit code of your choosing. Inside are sandals and an incredibly soft, plush robe. I was offered hot tea and a neck wrap before I headed to the waiting room. The waiting room is very relaxing, filled with comfortable chairs. There is a fireplace, and there is also a bar with cucumber lemon water and nutri grain and nature valley granola bars. The only reason I took away a star is the scheduling process. The online booking system wasn't working, so I had to call and played phone tag for a bit. I looked at their online booking page today, and it seems to be working so I guess they got it figured out. I used a groupon, and based on other reviews of how they were treated when they used a groupon, I was nervous to present mine. I'm happy to report that I wasn't treated any differently, and the groupon really is a fantastic deal for this spa. I got 50% off the facial, and this is TRULY a spa environment. Low lighting, gorgeous furnishings and a quiet, relaxing ambience. I point this out because most places who offer groupons are a bit sketchy, and there are a lot of hole in the wall massage parlors calling themselves Day Spas in the Nashville area, and they are not!The one hour introductory facial is $110 regularly. It's important to note it's actually only 50 minutes of service time, but they told me this when I booked so I was prepared and didn't feel jipped. I am used to paying $1-$1.50 per minute for a facial, so $2.20 is a bit steep for me, but I had such a wonderful experience that I'll have to splurge here every now and then to get another facial from Liz. Oh, one more thing, Liz suggested a hydrating mask for me and I was asked upon leaving if I would like to purchase it. No pushy sales tactics here. I appreciated that too! Read Less

The Woodhouse Day Spa is my favorite place to be.  The moment I enter that Relaxation Room, I'm relaxed, feeling mellow, and all is good. Reading the poor reviews here on Yelp is interesting. How has a place with such mixed reviews become my favorite place to be??I've seen several different massage therapists during the last couple years I've visited the Woodhouse. (Maybe there's been a high turnover rate, as several of them are not there anymore!)  Some have been fantastic, some have been so-so. On the fantastic side, I've received massages from both Bens (who are both there at the time of this review), and have seen Ben C. several times. He's a thorough masseuse, and it's a pleasure to be in his company!  I've also enjoyed several pedicures performed by Tiffany, who is also fun to talk to. Almost every time I've made a purchase for a service the Woodhouse, it's been with a Groupon or some sort of deal. The normal prices are EXPENSIVE.  I can't bring myself to spend $145 for an 80 minute massage, and $95 for a 50 minute is just too much.But the pros have outweighed the scary prices for me, especially since I've come in with deals (and did purchase a massage package, which discounted the price of each and one was free).  I really look forward to spending a few hours at the Woodhouse.
