Just save your money and do not go here. I don’t remember who it was, but I had a male nail tech and received the rudest service ever 06-29-21. He insulted one of the customers around me and my friend and complained about a certain person who wanted to make an appointment. Then he was frustrated with me for not relaxing my hand .5 seconds after he was ready to paint my nails. He snapped, “Relax your HANDS. You can do better.” and, “Relax, PLEASE.” Then he grabbed my hand forcefully and put it back down with mild aggression. When he was putting his brushes into the bottles, he also did that with force and attitude then yanked my hand back. It’s just ridiculous. YOU are the ones who need to do better. The nail job was fine, but the service is not worth it simply because of this one man. Do not go here or you will feel degraded and infantilized. Read Less

This place looks fabulous, and the first year I went there the staff was very attentive, I was so impressed with their efficiency and professionalism that I never minded waiting. Then gradually, Chris started making comments to me and other customers that they were so busy, and he just didn't understand why everyone always seemed to come at once. After hearing this a few times I mentioned to him that saying things like that out loud was going to drive away customers, his response? "No worry, they come back, they always do". Very smug and definitely an eye opener to me. I have a friend that joined me a few times and liked the services so much she made it her regular spot. One Sunday we met there and immediately after walking in Chris said "We busy, why do you come when it is so busy? I told him we were fine waiting and that it was OK, he asked me "Just come back on Tuesday! why cant you come back during the week?" then went on a rant about why does everyone come in at the same time and expect services. I explained, where all could hear, that I worked during the week and couldn't make it back to his location before they closed, so weekends were my only option if I was to keep coming to this nail bar. He asked us to come back another day so many times my friend and I left and got our services somewhere else. I vowed then to never give him another penny of my hard earned money. My friend felt like their services were worthy of some rudeness and kept going back, until he unleashed on her this past month, same rant. It has been almost a year since I went there and I wasn't going to bother with a review, but people should know how the employees feel about the customers and watch for signs of frustration so when they are taken out on you (burnt cuticles, short pedis, rudeness, etc)., you can call them out on it and spend your money where you are appreciated. It is a clean shop and it's great that they are open on Sunday. If your expectation is someone who is motivated to do your nails better than you can at home...try another option. My manicurist (1) was more interested in his phone, (2) even upon request didn't offer a refreshment, which is one of their spoilers that they advertise, (3) barely did the minimum of my premium pedi - yes I noticed, (4) then had me walk before my lotion soaked in causing my feet to slide and the toe separator rubbing my painted tootsies. That was just the pedi. On to the mani, he did not ask shape, didn't file smoothly or clean the edges and when he asked if it was ok I took the opportunity to point out what I was look for. He then took his cosmetology license down off the wall and sat it next to us on the counter (ya'll...I can't make this up). At that point I gave up, scolded myself mentally for a bad location choice for my mani/pedi treat and paid full price/tip. This was my experience, hope others have better luck. Read Less

I have been to this salon numerous times (10+) in the past year and a half. Each time I've been I've received an average to slightly above average set of nails. I prefer the dipping powder service. I have made appointments and walked in and always have to wait an average of 30 minutes, often being worked in while they're still working on another customer. If they get busy while you're still in the chair, you may as well call it quits because they're going to aggressively rush through your appointment resulting in a poor result, and quite likely, with a couple cuts for the ride home! The men (ones I've personally dealt with) speak abruptly and are rude, rarely speaking TO me other than to bark orders. I leave feeling stressed and questionong why I continue to go back, so I am moving on in search of a more peaceful experience AND great service. Recommendations welcome! Read Less

I've been coming here since May and have gotten only gel manicures until today. The gel manicures come out great and the staff is friendly. Based on that alone, I would have totally given five stars. However, today I decided to get a dip manicure after loving it at another salon. After my experience this afternoon though, I would vehemently advise against a dip mani here!!! My cuticles felt like they were being run over with a chain saw. I have three fingers cut and bleeding. No one cared that my cuticles had been cut or got bandaids before I left. Needless to say, despite a good history of gel manicures here, I will not be returning. You shouldn't have to get antibiotic ointment and bandages after visiting a nail salon. Oh, and on top of all this, he still charged me $48. Read Less

My overall experience at this shop was the absolute worse. I arrived and was greeted, and told to select a color. The nail tech (Anthony- no name tag worn- I got this name off my receipt) was courteous and did a good job on the mani. This is the first out of many nail salons to ask me to select a numbered nail color (shellac) from a display basket, but then tell me I have to also go find the matching numbered color regular polish from the wall- after I had already sat down. After starting the process for removing the old (shellac polish) from my nails, then we moved to the back to change the color on my toes - once I got in the pedi chair I realized I didn’t remove my gladiator sandal– so I sat down in the pedi chair with the sandal on, with hopes that Anthony could help remove my shoes.Well, Anthony had walked away to get the polish- so I sat down with my shoes on but placed the sole upward so it wouldn’t touch the bottom of the foot prop. Well- the nail tech beside us (she did not have on a name tag- out of nowhere, said mam- “take off your shoes”. Note- I had alum foil over my fingertips. For the record- she was the tech over to the right side- back wall- check your cameras- this lady is rude. She was very rude. This lady was totally out of order- she was not waiting on me and should have let Anthony decide if he wanted to help me with my shoes. After my mani- I got up to wash my hands&accidently bumped my wet toe polish on my gladiator sandal that Anthony had sat right behind my chair. I told him I bumped the big toe and he said-“oh my and that color is so hard to polish and takes a while to dry”. He didn’t say it in a rude tone, but enough to let me know he wasn’t happy. However- had he not placed them right on the side behind me where I had to get up – then maybe it wouldn’t have happened. Just plain rude to make any comment. Also, during my services- he was sneezing and periodically wiping his hands across his nose, which was very nasty and disgusting. Read Less

My nails look great! Called ahead to see if they took appointments or walk in only, but since they did both I made an appointment because being a mom of 2, I wanted to make sure I didn't have to wait a ridiculous amount of time before getting my service. I literally made my appointment 15 mins ahead of time. Kenny was my nail tech today. Got in and got out in 35 mins for a gel mani. They even put a hot towel on my hands and gave me a hand massage in that time. I do not think I have ever spent less time anywhere and got this fabulous of a gel mani.  Kenny didn't chat me up and THANK GOODNESS. I try to get peace and quiet whenever I can. The nail tech was very rough.  His nails dug into my feet and when he worked on the cuticles it felt like he was ripping skin off.  I have a callous on the outside of my pinkie toe.  It is a result of hammerhead toe - not a true callous.  I had to tell him multiple times not to file it down.  Massage was decent, tub water was cold, polish application was good.  Dude kept singing, too.  Not a relaxing experience.  I'll stick to Elite across the street. First time experience today. Went in here because I was in the area and eating next door at Pyros. The decor looked to be above average as far as nail salons go so I thought I'd try it. Everyone was very nice and was seated immediately to get a shellac manicure. The man who did my manicure was so rough trimming my cuticles, it seemed never ending. I am usually pretty tolerant of anything they do at nail salons but this was the worst I've ever experience. He left four of my fingers bleeding. Only to brush over them with alcohol wipes, ouch. But still, not that big of a deal if my nails turn out good. Well.. he started painting my shellac. It turned out decent but some spots the color is inconsistent. I'm pretty sure he also left off the top coat when he got done. I'm kicking myself for not asking. Still whatever. Then I go outside and they are a completely different color in natural light? I don't get it? It's definitely different than on the color wheel provided. All in all I doubt I'll be going back. I paid $35 + tip for something I think can be done better at the place I usually go, for less! Two stars because they were nice, the place is cool looking, and it was at least fast! As far as nail salons in Memphis go, this one is clean and friendly. Their tools hermetically sealed, which is wonderful to see, after some of the nightmares I've been to in this town. It feels more like a bit of an assembly line, versus a day at the salon/spa, however. My daughter and I went in for pedicures before vacation. We did not have an appointment, and were seated almost immediately. We both loved the massage chairs, and the choice of smells they use for the foot bath. The pedicurist was very gentle and took great care to remove the rough spots on my heels. I did have to ask for wine, though, while other customers were offered immediately. No biggie, just kind of one of those details that can easily be fixed. I was surprised that, for the size, they do not offer many OPI color choices. And zero OPI gels (no one in Memphis does). Overall, it was good, but not great. Certainly better than most I've tried, but still looking for that GREAT salon feel I'm used to. Read Less

The people working were nice and the salon is pretty and clean. However...I called early for an appointment (manicure and pedicure, on a weekday) to verify availability and arrived a few minutes before my appointment time. I then sat for nearly an hour in a flat manicure chair awaiting instruction while they took three walk-in pedicures and more. The services and pricing are vague. After my hour wait, my shellac manicure involved some aggressive cuticle trimming, drawing blood on multiple fingers. There's no doubt she felt me wince and saw the blood. She asked about cutting nails, and I asked for just trimming and jagged ones/evening them out. They're now all cut uncomfortably below my fingertips and have little red specks from my "cuticle trim."When that was done, I was brought back to an already full pedi tub that was cool at that point. Two hours had passed by now and I had to ask for something to drink. The pedicure was also aggressive. The "massage" part involved punching my calves. One of the gentlemen working was arguing on the phone with a car dealership that was scamming him, which--that's fair and warranted based on the conversation--but I don't know that this business appreciates that we drop a decent amount of money for a relaxing experience. As soon as my toes were painted, the pedicurist walked away with no directions for me. I gave it 10 minutes for some sort of attention and then finally just went to the desk to hopefully pay and leave. So--I made an appointment and spent more than 3-1/4 hours for a mani-pedi that was the opposite of relaxing, with half of the time spent waiting without any insight as to what was next and when. If you're going to leave people waiting for exorbitant amounts of time, acknowledge them, give them a time frame and a head's up, offer them a beverage, have WiFi. I'm new to the area. This place is new. But it's not so new that they shouldn't have things together by now. As a "spa," the focus is on relaxing the customer, creating a special, comforting experience for the customer. This was especially true for me. It was my first day out of the house after two weeks healing from surgery and I feel like I threw away time and money--especially considering the kind of service I have gotten at the Poplar Ave. Elite Spa for the same price. You live and learn, I suppose. Read Less

Pretty building and great location but I came here needing a pedicure based on Yelp reviews. First of all, I was placed in a chair and the water became cold by the time the manicurist began on my feet. I had to ask 3xs for hot water and she still ran a small amount that only made the water slightly warmer than cool. I asked for hot water again and never got it. I soon realized with how slowly and cumbersome she was that she's new and doesn't understand any English. I ask the staff to help me to translate but they walk away and continue to help the regulars. This is awkward because she seems like a sweet lady and I don't like complaining or constantly having to ask for detailed things that should come with the service. Most people in the salon business deal with industry workers and can see that my feet needed someone with a bit of experience. This lady would've been great for my children and their tiny callous-free and smooth hands and feet! 1.5 hrs have passed and I'm still having to ask the manicurist to PLEASE remove more cuticles. Please use a rough surface device to get the calluses. Also, I asked repeatedly to have my nails cut as short as possible, yet she's already drained the bath and did a very half-hearted and weak-handed "massage" with the orange salt scrub that left much to be desired. I see customers being offered bottle water and wines and I've received nothing. No English speaking staff have come by to check on this extremely uncomfortable situation. I stand on my feet in heels sometimes 18hrs per day and walk over 6miles in these heels. Pedicure and foot care is important to me and I can't afford to spend $35+tip to be a Guinea pig for an unsupervised trainee. It's not fair with the number of hours I work to lose this much time and have nothing to show for it. I finally ask a gentleman after walking by if he spoke   English. I finally got my can of soda and he clipped my cuticles for me at the 2nd hour. I'm too tired at this point to even worry anymore. It's hit or miss with good nail service. Read Less

I have been having difficulty getting in for a pedicure lately,  so when I could not get in touch with my regular place, I stopped by here to make an appointment. Nail Bar is new,  so I had no trouble scheduling. I did have to bring the "book" to the owner so he could record the appointment. I returned the next day for my appointment and I was quickly escorted to my pedicure chair. I was offered a drink and was encouraged to try the deluxe pedicure. I opted to stick with the Classic pedicure, but I was asked more than once if I wanted to try the deluxe for a few dollars more. My service was thorough and, as a person who gets bi-weekly pedicures,  it was more than sufficient. Deluxe was not necessary. Everything was the same as my regular place except that I was not offered a drink refill. Overall a good experience Read Less

I have lived in the Memphis area for about a year and had never found a consistently great nail salon or even a consistently mediocre salon... That being said, The Nail Bar is now open and is wonderful! I have found my new and permanent nail salon! And it is AWESOME!It is brand new, the decor is very nice with a relaxing feel. I was greeted immediately upon arrival and offered a beverage. I didn't have an appointment, but they fit me in right away. I don't think that will be the standard going forward because once people start finding out about The Nail Bar, I think it will definitely get busier. The staff there were friendly and welcoming.Kim was super nice and very skilled and very gentle. I elected to get a deluxe mani/pedi with the 4/1 box. They also offer basic, Classic service and a Deluxe 6/1 that has extra scrubs and masks. The deluxe pedis have different "flavors" of water mixed, scrubs, and lotions you can upgrade to; ranging from Vit C invigorating and Lavendar relaxing. The pedi chairs are brand spanking new and have great massage features. Kim was awesome, taking care to cut and file evenly. She had perfect pressure with the relaxing foot massage and finished with hot stones AND a hot towel! My polish looked great and she used a base coat, two coats of polish, AND a top coat... Something you would think to be standard at most nail salons, but so many in the area either skip the base or top coat. Nail Bar uses BOTH! My manicure was a basic one, but still performed with skill and a relaxing massage and a hot towel. And again the polish was applied with BOTH a base coat AND a top coat. Kim did a great job! I was very impressed. All in all, I think the new Nail Bar is definitely going to be my permanent place for nail services. The staff is friendly and skilled, the salon is very clean, stylish, and relaxing, and IMO their prices were very reasonable for the level of skill and service received. I'm so happy the Nail Bar is open! I will definitely be back! Read Less

Read Less

Read Less

Read Less

I had a wonderful 4 in 1 pedicure today with Henry and greatly enjoyed myself. He engaged in the right amount of conversation, gave me a water bottle, explained the differences in pedicure options clearly, and my toes look wonderful. Henry gave 5 star service.I give the place 4 stars overall because I would like their service menu/pricing to be posted more clearly on their Facebook page. I think their prices are very fair for the newness and cleanliness of the place and so they should feel proud to post them.

Read Less

I am a regular client of a nearby nail salon.

Read Less

I agree, took my 16 yr old and they talked her into getting an upgrade. Well her pedicure polish was not that great. I brought it to the owners attention and he said her nail was cracked. He didn't fix it. The owner also bragged about giving me 20% off. That's a rip off, if you calculated right they raise their prices and your right back at paying regular price. Read Less
