I wasn't happy with Zen. The wait was at least an hour. My gel nails have bubbles in them. My polish for pedicure also wasn't done well and only had a single coat of polish so you can see the nail underneath the polish because its blotchy. On top of all that, it was over priced. My expectations were high when I walked in because the shop is nice. It's well decorated and the staff seemed to be friendly. The first problem I had is that there is no air flow in the shop so all the fumes from different nail products are entirely nauseating. They had the door out front open but it was still overpowering. I don't know if its safe for employees or clients. It's been a week since I've had my nails done there and I can tell you they haven't stood up to daily life. The gel seems like the cure wasn't enough, sometimes they feel sticky. The pedicure has chipped. I've never had that happen, even when I do them at home. I wouldn't advise gel from this salon because of the issues I've had with them. But they may have other products that stand up better. They have acrylic, SNS, gel, and others I wasn't familiar with. That's a lot of products. So I'm sure theres something in there for everyone. That's the reason I gave more than one star. Read Less

I was seen quickly without an appointment and the lady was friendly and gentle while doing my manicure. I spent extra for the gel mani. While the stuff looks great, it's been less than two weeks and more than half of the nails have lost the coats. They just peeled off from the cuticle. My experience there was fine...except that I was her last customer of the day and she rushed...she didn't put a final coat of clear on! My nails were ok the next morning but that evening I came home and took off my boots and socks to discover the polish on my big toe (with a design) was pushed/rolled back halfway down the nail. I called and they said I could come in the next day to get it fixed. They tried to recharge me the $8 for redoing a design on my big toe since the person who originally did it wasn't there...? They also tried to blame me for ruining the polish, telling me to be more careful this time. Zen Nail Spa made for a fantastic nail salon experience! The environment is especially clean, well decorated, with soothing, classical tunes playing throughout the salon. The service was equally fantastic and satisfying. I received the basic spa pedicure and the shellac manicure and was immensely pleased with the quality of both. First experience was not bad. Brought my husband to get a pedicure for the first time and the woman who did his pedicure was the sweetest and kindest lady. She did an excellent job! On the other hand... I had an older gentlemen who I could not unfortunately understand very well. He rushed my pedicure the whole time and acted like I was an inconvenience to him. I've honestly never have experienced that at any nail place I've been to, so this was quite annoying. I laughed when he was scrubbing my feet because I can be very ticklish, and he made a disgusted face at me for doing so. I honestly didn't understand why he would do that because I was laughing and having a good time with my friends and husband. Was in this morning with my mother for waxing. The girl was too caught up with how she has gained 7 pounds and her face was breaking out to pay attention to what she was doing and gapped my eye brow. I got home thinking she just left some and was going to fix it when I realized my left eye brow is actually gapped. My mothers were also terrible. She left stray hairs all over her eye brows that should have been taken off. And then charged her $25 in stead of the $17 it should h...ave been. Luckily we caught that before we left and they refunded the over charge. They are all too worried about everyone else working in the spa and talking to them to pay attention to the paying customers. I went there a couple of years ago and the lotion they used on my legs broke me out terribly. So I didn't go back until last Friday I wanted just a basic pedicure. No massaging my legs no lotion on my legs just a pedicure. Well the girl I thought was doing a good job. I got home and my feet still had calluses on them and were as rough as when I went in. Zen nails are great. I went today and got SNS ombre nails done by Julie. I love them! She also waxed my brows and did a great job! The salon atmosphere is very relaxing and welcoming. They have a lot of choices of services to choose from, which I like. I have also used Amy and she did a great job as well. When I mentioned something about being dissatisfied nothing was done to resolve the issue and I felt like a second thought rather than a main priority as a customer. I have previously given Zen Nail Spa a 5 star rating, but had to delete that review. I've been a loyal, regular customer since they opened in Jan. 2014, & have even brought them business from as far away as Monteagle. Last week when I called to schedule my tri-weekly regular appointment, my regular nail tech Lee decided to tell me his business was shifting and he couldn't do my nails anymore on the weekend. Then I spoke with Traci, who used to own the place until about 2 mont...hs ago & and was informed that Lee told her an untruth about me. I can't tell you how offended I have been by this business. Not only did I credit them as the best Nail Salon in Cleveland TN and told them regularly how much I appreciated them, I brought my daughter's in from Monteagle and my two sisters here in Cleveland were also regular customers. Traci told me last Thursday evening that she would call me at home to discuss what had happened, and I have still not heard from her. Apparently now under new management it's just fine for Zen Nail Spa to have lost five very regular customers. I'm very hurt by this business and I just want everybody to know about it. I just moved here and I always look for a nail shop in a new town. I have been getting my nails done for years and thought this place looked really cool. I made an appointment and went in. Barely anyone spoke to me. I was sat at a table waiting for 10 mins and not asked if I needed anything or told that someone would be along with me soon. My nail tech was rude, rushed and sloppy. He left globs of acrylic under my nails, the edges were rough and the over all shape wasn't very nice. I took off my old set to get a fresh set here and they were less than I expected. The color gel polish I wanted wasn't available so I picked another color. It chipped 2 days after I got them done and proceeded to peel away. I've had my nails done and pedicures so many times I can't count them all. This is a very beautifully decorated salon with up to date equipment and nail colors. I've been there three times. The last time I came in after showering and just sloppy dressed and I knew not to wear makeup before because I was going to spray tan after. The first thing I had a manager walk up when I was getting a pedicure asking if I knew how expensive gel color was vs regular polish and he brought ...a menu for pedicure and manicures with prices and then said it would be around 83. He then said I wanted to ask you if it was in your budget before you got it so you wouldn't be shocked later. I said yes I know and do you want me to pay now. He said no that I could pay later. The man who did my full set was so rude. Telling me not to move any of my body so I wouldn't shake the table. I wasn't moving g and he said how many times do I need to say stop moving. I'm hungry and want to go home. I want to eat and not stay here any longer and if you mess it up I'll have to stay more time. My little 11 year old got her eyebrows waxed and they looked great. She got up and was looking at the nail samples in the ring things and he kept looking at her like she was going to steal something. I told her to come and sit beside me. He was jerking my fingers and was so rude. I've prob had my nails done a 1000 times and I didn't move at all. I had a little fan blowing and he grabbed it and turned it where it wouldn't be facing me. I could prob get my nails done several days a week and was treated badly. I'm not going back. I tipped the man that did my full set, the lady who did the pedicure, the lady who did my daughters eyebrows, and the manager that took my money. They lost my daughter and I as a customer. Well, he had just started a pedicure. I knew it would be at least 30 minutes before he could get to me. But I sat down anyways because sometimes they will pull the tech away for appointments. Well, 15 minutes later I get up to leave and Marcus tries to tell me that my tech will be with me in a few minutes. Well no, he should've been with me 15 minutes before that. I'll start by saying I've been to this salon several times and have been happy with the service. My last visit I got a gel French manicure and after 3 days the white tips turned completely brown. Which from my research, is carelessness on their part. I went back in today to ask them to fix it and they were willing to redo the gel in an all over color. Excellent customer service and the best manicure/pedicure I've ever had. Everyone there is very professional and the atmosphere is so relaxing. There are no loud televisions or yelling back and forth. Just soft music and water features. I go in every three weeks (because my gel manicure will last that long) but every time they remember me and my family and the color I like. This is the only place I will go from now on to get my nails painted in gel color. I use to go to Lava nails in Athens because it was closer to home. I no longer go there because my nails would peel off or chip after 3 to 4 days. I was referred to Zen Nails by a co worker and I am glad she gave me the suggestion.
