I recently moved and was nervous about finding a new salon. I walked in and noticed they were a little busy. I didn’t have to wait! I was instantly seated and felt comfortable the entire time. Today was my first time visiting this salon. I walked in and it was one of the nicest salons I have ever been in. I was promptly greeted. I wanted my acrylic nails shaved down ( I can't have these for school)and a gel polish put on. They told me the price before they started, which I liked. What really stood out to me is that Cindy put 3 layers of gel and oil on my critical to make sure my nails looked flawless. Often times I go to salons and they do the bare minimal such as 2 coats of polish, without looking to see if the nail is fully coated. The service was very fast but I did go during the week around lunch. There was minimal bi-lingual conversations going on while I was with the teeth. I googled for a nail salon near me while traveling, I read about 20 reviews and looked at the pictures online. I decided to go check them out. I am so glad I did. I decided to go with their gelish paint. They did a wonderful job. I was there a total of 30 mins and enjoyed every moment. I only wish we had a salon like this back home $25.00 for my nails. Pros: they seem well-staffed! There were so many nail techs there when I walked in, chances are you wouldn't wait too long. I waited about 30 mins (busy Sat), not too bad. Very nice looking salon as well! Cons: my nail tech was Jimmy, who was very nice and interactive! However, his skill is lacking...I got gel manicure for a wedding, and he missed a few spots on my nails, he also painted it super far out so it looks like I've had the polish on for awhile but in fact, I just got it that day! The paint job is also sloppy, i can clearly tell the coats apart. I just wouldn't recommend him but maybe another more experienced tech. I have a pretty mixed review of this place. The wait was long too long. My nails came out looking great but the process was rough. I asked for a soak off and a new SNS (dip) set. Instead he drilled off most of the old set and left a thin layer and put this new set over it. The drilling was rough and hurt my fingers but he didn't cut me so that's a plus. My nails are naturally long so I don't use tips. He was so rough with filing and buffing that I thought my nails were going to break. I could feel them bending and flicking. $55 dollars is more than I usually pay for dip nails. They look great but are rather thin so I hope they don't break. I'm not opposed to coming back but hope to find some place in the area with more reasonable prices. Read Less

This place is unprofessional and disgusting do not go there esp if you like coffin shaped nails. They did such a trash job on my nails I called everyday to complain and ask for a refund or for it to be fixed and they wouldn't fix it or refund and are very rude. Still wanting my refund or fixed set. The man who did my nails also said "I don't like doing coffin shaped it's more effort" and huffed the entire time plus charging 10 extra for the shape!! I have been getting my nails done with shellac for over a year. I have never had my shellac last less than three weeks until I visited venus when I pay fiffy dollars for a shellac manicure I expect it to last more than four days. If I wanted that I would have gotten regular polish for what eight dollars, I am not happy and I would not refer any persons to this salon. Read Less

Just moved here and have tried at least 4 other salons! Despites some of these negative reviews, I decided to try it for myself. First of all Venus Nails has voted 3 years Best of Clarksville. They must have done something right in the first place and that's y the people has voted! I have to say the price is a little higher than other local nail salons around, but I've never got a Shellac Manicure and a pedicure the way that Pam has done! Went in for a shellac nail service. While there, the person doing my nails drops a bottle of white shellac polish on the floor & it breaks. White paint got all over my red leather Coach purse. Two female employees immediately tried to get paint off of my purse but ended up smearing the paint across the leather. After cleaning the floor, the person doing my nails continued my service while I watched as the ladies tried to clean my purse. When finished with my nails, the man who dropped polish & did my nails went to check me out & told me it was $30 (full price). I'm not one to get loud or angry, but I was very upset that my $300 Coach purse had been ruined with polish. I showed him the purse & said "this is not ok, my purse is ruined" he just said that he had said sorry & that it was an accident. I asked to speak to mgr & he said he was the mgr. I asked him what can we do to fix the situation & he said he'd take $5 off & that I should look into having my purse professionally cleaned. I visited this location because my normal salon was closed. I will never visit again. I asked for a shellac manicure and they are overpriced compared to better salons. The technician doing my nails didn't speak to me, and didn't seem to understand OUCH! She applied the base coat without thoroughly cleaning my nail which caused bumps. She also failed to get the polish into every bit of the nail resulting in "holes". She put polish on my skin and cuticle and did not clean it off before putting it under the light. She then cut my finger deeply trying to get the polish off of my skin. After an hour I showed her that they were bumpy, had holes without polish, polish was on my skin, and she cut me. After an hour she said she would fix it and to come back the next day. It is an inconvenience and a waste of money. The employees are unprofessional and messy as well. Horrible nail salon! If I could give this 0 stars I would! I went in a week and a half ago to get a full set of gel nails and the WHOLE experience was terrible. The employee I had was not friendly at all and said 2 words to me the whole time I was in there and tried to have a conversation so I just gave up talking. The gel nails were awful. I own a hair salon that does not offer gel nails so of course I went elsewhere to get my nails done. My point is, I went to cosmetology school for my diploma and cosmetology covers how to apply all the kinds of nails you can get. so here is my experience.... Firstly, there is no such thing as "power gel". Its called GEL for a reason, because it is suppose to be GEL not powder. Powder is for acrylics. Of course there was no label on the container that even said "powder gel" (which doesn't exist anyway) secondly, your not suppose to use a drill of ANY kind with gels, you are only suppose to buff the surface of your nail with a file then apply gel. Thirdly, your suppose to cure gel under a UV light for 3 minutes on each hand, then repeat. that was not done. Fourthly, they applied a UV top coat (under the nail polish I received) and that was the only time it was cured. With gels, you have a certain color you pick out in the gels, its not suppose to be regular polish. I will also add that the polish is old and watered down with fingernail polish remover. Fifthly, after I got them done, 2 days later my middle fingernail split in half and popped right off, then the 5th day my ring fingernail lifted completely off, and the 8th day my thumbnail chipped and popped off! Cheap, cheap powder was applied to my nails! Lastly, they charged me for a full set of gel nails when I really received cheap acrylic powder on my nails! I have seen this happen in other nail salons too where they call this powder gel and its not and they charge you for gel. again, powder gel does not exist! my overall experience was truly the worst nail salon I have ever been to! "Nails by tammy" in dickson tn is who does REAL gel nails! I went here yesterday to get shellac after reading so many "positive" reviews online. Obviously, their employees are writing all the positive reviews online because this is the DIRTIEST nail salon I've ever visited. When I walked in, I immediately noticed the DUST covering every surface in the salon. So disgusting. I was about to walk out when a young man greeted me and and told me to go to station 5, where I was greeted by a very scruffy looking man. As I sat down I looked to my left and saw several Asian people slumped over on the chairs SLEEPING!!! How professional! The nail tech grabbed my hands and his hands were so rough and scratchy I instinctually pulled away. I asked him to see the shellac colors and he pointed to about 12 bottles. I had to get up, go behind another nail tech's station and to look at the colors, which were just the colored wrappers on the bottles. They didn't even have painted nail swatches!!! And they had a VERY limited amount of colors. Another thing to note is that they use OPI gel color, NOT OPI Axxium gel color, which is superior. Check out OPI's site for info on this. After looking at the "colors" (laughable), I asked how much it would be, and my tech could not communicate with me. Literally could not understand me. At that point I thanked him (which I'm sure he again didn't understand), and walked out. As I was walking out, I noticed a trash can overflowing with trash by the front counter. There are a few reasons why I love Venus Nails Spa, 1. they are probably the cleanest nail salon I've ever been to. 2. you don't need to make an appointment. 3. they are reasonable price-wise!!! I just moved here from New York, After trying numerous nail salons in the area (about 8) and not being particularly pleased with any of them. I come here very often, at least twice a month for the last 12 years, and I have never once had a bad experience. The staff is very, very polite and tedious about their both their manicures and pedicures, and they apply gel very knowledgeably and with meticulous attention. Their prices are very competitive, and the wait is never long, if at all. The atmosphere is impeccably clean, relaxing. I'm kinda sad that my husband will be station in TX.
