Before I begin writing, I just want to point out that I am not the pick-est customer. VIP nails has a new male associate, who did my mani and pedis so well last time, and I just had to go back there and get my nails done by him again. When I got there, there were just two people, one who I always thought to be the manager of the store and other male associate who was always there every time I went to VIP nails from the get go. I asked them if the new guy works today, and the male associate looked at the manager lady and said "See?"which made me think that I am not the only one who was looking for the new hired associate, and the guy was not happy with the fact that customers were looking for the new associate. (I really hope I knew their names) Anyway, the lady told me that dude will do my nails (I was very reluctant by the way)and I just remembered how he did my pedis when I went there very first time. It wasn't good. But then I thought maybe he will do well on manicure or he just had a bad day back then so I should give him a try. So I sit down to get my nails done, and we had a little chit chat. He is friendly by the way. I got gel nail, white on my two and pink on the rest of the three. By the time he was painting my nails for the 3rd time, I noticed some part of my skin around the nails was painted as well.I asked him to clean around them and make it a little neater, and he went through a few times. Every time I ask him, he just skips fingers that I have problems with. Obviously, you don't see what makes customer unsatisfied. Like I said, what I saw wasn't something you have to look really closely. It was just so obvious. When I got home, my husband looked at it and said "You actually PAID FOR THAT?" I mean you get the picture. Whatever problem I had was that obvious. When I asked him to do this and do that he started to have attitude. Of course, you will get upset because you have to redo it. But HE was the one who made all that mistakes, not me. And If you calling my right to ask what i pay for, being picky, you know you are not thinking right. To me what makes a good nail artist is her or his passion to look all the details so that nails look nice and clean. From the beginning the way he painted my nails was very rough, like he doesn't really care. By the way, I can do that myself at home. I think what I pay for at nail salon is the detail, which makes my manicure really neat and even as well as clean. If you are going to paint my nails just like how I do my self at home, I think you should re consider your career again, unless that's the only thing you can do, which I doubt. Anyway by the time when he is done, I am pissed off and he is upset because he thinks I am asking too much. Well maybe you should go and learn how to do manicure again. I heard that the manager lady does manicure really well. Only got a chance to get my pedis done by her once, but I think she did good. I really liked how new associate did my nails, it was so clean and neat, he took enough time, (it took way longer than average but it was worth it) and made sure everything is clean a few times. I am not writing anything by exaggerating or making stuff up. I am not writing anything bad about the salon as a whole. I am writing about how this particular male associate did my nails, had attitude and erased my tips on the receipt, i mean just because you are not that good, that doesn't mean you have to have attitude,Maybe the manager needs a little reality check on her employees' performance. Well I guess only experiences tell me which one is actually decent one that doesn't waste people's money and time. Gotta find a decent one now. Read Less
