I have been going to Its a hair thing since we moved here in 2010. I absolutely love all the gals there! I've been to a few other salons in the area just to give them a go and every time I do, I always need to go see Crick or Anna to fix what was done. Lol Thank God they don't give me the I told you so look!! Now that Crick is also at Evoke she is so much closer, now I have no excuse to not see her when it's time to have a beauty touch up. I just recently moved from St. Louis to Clarksville and I was in need of finding a salon I trust to cut my hair and wax my eyebrows since I'm picky. I went Evoke today for the 1st time for a consultation about cutting my hair with Liela and got an eyebrow wax from Casey. Such a cute little place and it's only 5 minutes away from my house! Every girl knows the feeling.... the deadly fear and anxiety of finding a new stylist. I just went through that and think I probably lost a bunch of hair in the process. However, I found Leila at Evoke and could not be happier. She was warm, friendly, and very open about what she was doing and why. She understood my fear and took things very slowly, which I really appreciated. At the end, I really like the way my hair turned out and will definitely be returning. I removed one star because the manager chastised a junior employee- for an extended amount of time- in front of me. I thought that was very unprofessional and it made me uncomfortable. You don't lecture an employee about a mess-up and then raise your voice at them in front of someone sitting in a chair. When I went into the salon I told the woman what I wanted, I showed her a pic and told her what I didn't like done to my hair. She said that she knew what I wanted and that she could do it. I told her that I didn't want a toner in my hair and she insisted. Once the color was done and she started to blow dry it I saw that I hated the color. I went in for highlights and said that I wanted heavy blond. She colored my hair ash. I told her I didn't want that color and she had no c...lue what to do. Other workers in the salon had to tell her what color to put in my hair. After trying another toner even after I told her very clearly that I don't want another toner in my hair it still wasn't anywhere where I wanted it. I was there for 3 hrs and I was just done with being there. I told her before I left that I still didn't like it. I just wanted highlights in my hair. She didn't tell me to come back to have it done the way that I want it, charged me an exuberant amount of money and said next time they will do a different color. This is the first salon that I've been to since moving down here from NYC maybe my standards are a little high but I thought my hair cut was horrible and completely uneven I had to go back and cut it over again myself. The entire time they were trying to promote their products which I understand but made me feel extremely uncomfortable and pressured, I know what I came in there to get I don't need $100 tagged on. I had also made the mistake of not reading the comments people have left on here. They overcharged me by $10 this also happened to another reviewer. I'm not sure how overcharging first time customers is going to attract permanent business.  I didn't mention anything about the extra cost because I was shy and I tipped the stylist 20% for a bad hair cut. Just moved to the area - SO happy I found this place! Nicole did my hair and she was great. This place use to be very professional. Now they are lacking. Seems over priced for the quality of service to be honest.. all in all this place is hit or miss. I can't say enough great things about my DevaCut experience with Geneva. I went in with a 'what do I have to lose' level of expectation and left with all expectations exceeded. I never knew my hair had so much natural curl. Its bouncy, soft and looks and feels completely natural and healthy. No more crunchy gels and sprays. And bye bye frizz! Geneva took the time to educate me about my hair and make recommendations for easy -do it myself- techniques at home. The Deva Products are amazing. Not happy at all! I went in blonde wanting to go brown and she wouldn't do it she only wanted to stick to my natural root color and I said I didn't want any blonde at all and I came out blonde!
