the salon is beautiful, but the service isn’t great. They put scalding water in my tub and wouldn’t listen when I kept asking for cooler water. positives: Nail tech was friendly and helpful. Area was clean and pretty. Located in nice area of town. Price was similar to surrounding nail salons. Negatives: Front desk worker was short and not helpful after asking multiple times for assistance. They yell your tip amount so the entire store can hear!!! I wanted something stronger than gel nails and was told the dip would last weeks. After 4 days there were 2 chips on 2 different nails and now 1.5 weeks after a nail fell off and many are loose. Also, I did not receive any cuticle care or shaping before the nail color was applied. I was not impressed by the customer service and the nail chipped and fell off. I went for the first time last night. I called ahead to get the price of a gel manicure - very reasonable. Their shop was very clean, modern and comfy. I was greeted and helped right away. It wasn't late, only about 5:45 pm, and there were a few other customers getting various things done but I was able to get right in. They had a large selection of gel colors and only a couple brands - I like O.P.I for gel and they had several color options. The nail tech did a great job taking my old gel color off, cutting and filing my nails and cleaning up around my cuticles. I have a very bad habit of picking my cuticles and sometimes they do not look the best, but the nail tech didn't gawk or make comments which was very nice. Other places made snide comments and made me feel very uncomfortable, but this nail tech did not. I was very pleased with the length and shape of my nails when she was finished. I have tried going here many times, but today was the final straw. This is the WORST French manicure I've ever had. I told the man doing my nails that I did not like it, and he continued anyway, saying that it would "look better in e they grew out". They were rude and rushed through the entire pedicure. The girl did the leg massage one handed most the time while she was turned looking out of the window. She applied my polish one coat right after the other haphazardly in about one minutes. She could have cared less to service me. I've had a lot of bad nail salon experiences but this takes the cake. This was the most awful experience Iv had in a long time. We booked 4 pedicures the day before our appointment. While the 3 of us got our pedicures my mother had waited well over 30 min to get hers started. Because they took a walk in as we came in the door. As we got our toes painted they finally started her pedicure. Not only that but they took the polish swatches away from her to give to the walk in customer. I waited well over an hour for my toenails to dry and they would not help me put my shoes on so my mother help me put my shoes on and we got yelled that and swatted at. Working in the beauty industry we know how things work and how things should be done and we were very very unimpressed as we left to pay they yelled back every tip that we left for them over the whole salon not appropriate at all. I went here recently as a pick me up and I absolutely loved it. I ended up getting ballerina shaped acrylic nails with tips with a gel polish on top, Michael did them and he did an incredible job!! They are amazing!! They look great and don't hurt one bit!! Definitely going back. Read Less

Very disappointed I have been going to Samantha since they have opened called to make appointment only to find out she isn't gonna be there because she is opening new location! So I scheduled appointment with someone else that fit my work schedule I go in and the one who was gonna do my nails called out and they told me it would be 30-45mins before they could get to me!! I have been here a handful of times but this last time really pushes me to not ever come back. I took my mother in for a pedicure for her birthday, and Ryan and David did our pedi's. To start my mother explained that she had bad knees and asked if David could just tell her what he wanted and not grab her legs to which he huffed and groaned the entire time. My mother is a plus sized woman and has struggled with her weight her whole life, and about 15 min into our pedicure Davi...d turns to Ryan and starts to giggle whispering something. A few moments later he turns to my mother and asks her "how heavy?, how many pounds?" And proceeds to laugh. What kind of person, let alone grown man has the audacity to ask a woman, let alone a woman of size, how much she weighs and laugh about it? I promptly told him he was rude and he was not to ask us such questions, but hours later I am still infuriated and unable to let this go. Regardless of how heavy someone is you should never be so rude, it took everything I had not to slap David and leave immediately. I absolutely loved Noire Nails and recommended them to many people. My two daughters and I have been going there since they first opened and I posted a very positive review in the beginning. I work hard for my money and getting my nails done is a real treat. However, in the past 6 months, their customer service has been horrible. The last time I went in for a gel fill, Samantha didn't ask how long I wanted my nails to be, she just start clipping and she took my nails out of the lamp dryer too soon and they were still "soft" two hours later. I've been coming here for over a year... so I've been a faithful customer and I'm also what I consider to be a big tipper. I came in today with the intent to get a pedi and a gel mani. I found a gift certificate that my daughter had purchased for me, it was only $30. It was also expired by about a month ( they're only good for 6 months in fine print it's marked ), but I had hopes that they would honor it for a long term customer. I went to the one at Choto market on north shore road. Basic gossip, but felt like they were acting rude and the atmosphere is your typical Farragut snooty. I expected high standards of professionalism. I wouldn't recommend them. I ask them to paint another top layer of top coat and I got a look like " how dare you". This was my first visit. I went in around 10:00 AM on Tuesday. I normally go to Nails and Wax but now I live in Knox. (I don't get my nails done often.) Went in to a very clean, bright place. Greeted instantly. They have a beautiful place. Only waited about 5/10 minutes before I was seen by the nail tech. Got a manicure (honestly I have no idea if he did gel or not, but I'm assuming so.) I got black moon nails (not the painted design, the nail shape. It's basically where they paint everything but 1/3 of your nail down to the base and shape it off to the half moon. Look into Pinterest for more details.) The gentleman who did my nails did an amazing job! I recommend him highly to anyone who wants a gel manicure (I paid $35 not including tip.)
