Extremely disappointed in my experience. The guy who did my nails did a great job- however he recommended I do an American manicure and showed me a picture of what they would look like and it looked nothing like the picture. He said it would be an off white - and my tips are Snow White. The only reason I accepted his recommendation was because the picture he showed me- and it literally looks nothing like the picture. He knew how upset I was and I even told him- it looks nothing like what you showed me. He said yea I think it looks better with short nails I guess (I have long natural nails) and apologized and offered no compensation. I paid because he did the work but i will NOT be returning. I had a pleasant experience this morning. I’m not hesitant to say most nail salons in Charleston are s**t shows but the staff at Stella nails were very welcoming and I didn’t have to wait. I can't even begin to tell you as to how terrible of an experience I've had with this nail salon. I went to this salon with my mother, for a well needed girls day. We get there and at first we're not acknowledged. We sat in silence until another patron asks if we were here before her, and then a technician asks us what we need. We tell them we want our nails done and they direct us to sit at specific tables. Well, big mistake. We're getting our nails done by a technician and all through out the process, the tech keeps filing to close to cuticles making them bleed, and then just kept going even though we told them how much they were hurting us. On this particular day, we just endured the pain for fear of having an incomplete nail job. Once the service was done, we expressed our concerns with the bleeding cuticles and the resulting pain. With this, we were told to pay for the service and that the pain and discomfort would go away in the next day or so. The technician stated that since we already paid, if we had problems to let them know and they would be more than willing to correct any problems. So, we paid as instructed and followed their recommendations. Low and behold, the next day came and the pain not only did not go away it was way worse. For fear of infection, we went right back up to the salon and was directed to a manager. This lady who said she was the manager, was extremely rude and stated that my mother and I had made the whole thing up and that not only are we not entitled to a refund, but that we both need to have our nails taken off for an additional fee. This was absolutely obsurd!! This whole experience was awful as I had a nail infection that was ignored and my mother had cut cuticles that were extremely painful. I would not recommend this salon! The staff is rude, insensitive, and very quick to dismiss the concerns of their patrons!!! Never again will I ever go there, or allow anyone I care about to go there either. Hands down the best nail salon in North Charleston/Summerville. The are very polite, reasonable, great customer service and are not stingy with their products! I moved here from Atlanta about 4 months ago and did a lot of nail salon hopping til I found the perfect place. Plus they acknowledge children should you need to bring them along with you. I don’t typically leave reviews. I have been soaking in water for over 1.5 hours waiting for a pedicure. It is my own fault for not getting up to leave. I need my nails done and I have been here too long to go some where else today. I have not been told how much longer nor we apologize for the wait. Hardly any wait on a Thursday afternoon just a few days before Christmas.  I appreciated that they had the front door propped open for ventilation since the weather was so nice.  Tom did my mani and pedi.  Everything was clean and organized.  With just a regular pedi, the cooling salt scrub on the lower legs and feet was wonderful.  That was followed by  a lotion massage. Awful service, there's nobody to check on people that come in. That makes you be sitting for minutes until someone notices you picked a nail polish, on top of that you call to schedule an appointment and they say you don't need one. After finally being noticed one of the girls was asked if she could do my pedicure once she was done she nodded her head and then they took all their time to decide who would do my pedicure... thankfully I wasn't in urge need to get one, so I left. Came here a couple of weeks ago to get a shellac mani/pedi, the nail tech cut my cuticle so bad it didn't stop bleeding for 2 days. Wasn't even offered a discount, and to top it all off, the manicure lasted 3 days versus 2-3 weeks that a normal shellac mani lasts. Not to mention my pedicure!! I do a better job myself. Requested a refund and have yet to receive one. I hate leaving negative reviews like this but I'd never go back. $80 for a crummy manicure and pedicure. Read Less

HORRIBLE & the WORST experience I have ever had!! I wouldn't even give this so called nail salon any stars! Definitely pay attention to the ratings on this place! Wish I would have read them before going. I went here to get a acrylic fill in. The so called nail tech poured glue all over my finger including the glue getting underneath my finger nail & didn't clean it up. After getting the acrylic put on my nail, I started checking them out to find that the nail wasn't sticking to the acrylic. I brought this to the so called nail techs attention & was told that she globed the glue on bc really I needed a new set & that's why the nail wasn't sticking to the acrylic. Ummm, well okkkkk ... WHY not tell me that before putting any new acrylic on my nails?! That's what any professional would have done. So, after I thought about it a little harder knowing that I was having to pay for a crappy job, I told her that that was not going to cut it with me. This nail job wouldn't last long at all! She proceeds to have a attitude, jerking my fingers & hands around & globs MORE glue on the nails that I showed her that wasn't sticking!!! Are you kidding me?! I knew I wasn't happy & I no longer wanted my toes painted!! Not to mention, when painting my nails, she had nail polish allllll over my fingers. All I wanted to do at this point was leave!! But, I was going to do the right thing & pay even though I was not happy at all! When paying, I am then told $5 more then what I was told to begin with. When I asked for what?! I was told $5 extra dollars for taking off my gel polish!!! Are you kidding me?!!! I get my nails done on a regular basis & I have never heard of such! So of course I argue with them & tell them I will not pay the $5 extra dollars bc that's insane & I wasn't happy with any of the service to begin with!! Oh boy did that cause a ruckus!!! They all chimed in with the lady who did my nails. Talking about me, laughing & pointing at me. SO RUDE & UNEXCEPTABLE!!! To make matters worse... no need to call & speak with the manager/ owner bc she was sitting right there amongst them talking, laughing & pointing at me. UNBELIEVABLE! NEVER EVER go here! I walked in, was not greeted, but this is not terribly uncommon on a busy day. I signed in, picked my color and sat down. Two ladies walked in after me and were immediately assisted. I was asked what I needed after them, and was then ignored as the same woman seated the other customers. Another woman asked if I had been helped then told me that I would have to wait half an hour. I found this unacceptable as it was clear that the other women did not have an appointment. The first time I went there was great. The girl with the shorter hair does a great job. I went there yesterday and got my acrylic redone and it looks terrible. A girl who I've never seen before did them. She kept bragging about how much experience she has and how great they looked. I asked for coffin tips but ones rounded and the other is stiletto. None of them are even. Not only to they look terrible but she cut me. I was actually bleeding a lot and she just put acrylic over it. It hurts so bad. Luckily she wont be there anymore. If I could rate them zero I would! The pedicure didn't even rub the bottom of my feet. And an hour later I came back as it looked like I had not even had a pedicure. When I asked for my money back and showed the owner the dry spots on my skin, she said that it was my fault for getting the basic pedicure and not the callous treatment! It was already $30 for the basic! I have been getting pedicures for years and have never had one leave dry calloused areas like this. I will never return! Was skeptical about coming here after reading some of the reviews but still wanted to give this place a try. For not having an appointment they had me in a chair for my pedicure pretty fast. I got the 30 dollar basic pedicure and that's all it was. I've gotten better pedicures for the price at other local salons, it felt very rushed and I didn't even get a massage which is typically included in most pedicures. Seems a little pricey, but a friend lives close to we went here.  We only did pedis and it felt like we were rushed through.  If I'm paying $35 to get a pedi, can we please make it worth it?  Having my feet rubbed is delightful and I'm paying you to do it.  I don't care about your warm (HOT) towels or the sugar scrub or whatever.. just rub my legs and feet.  You don't even have to talk to me, just massage.  Actually, the ladies doing the pedis didn't speak to us at all other than "sit here" and "you want this color?"  Despite the shortness of the massage and how rushed the pedi felt, the massage did feel good while it lasted.  When the lady painted my toe nails, she made sure to paint the ENTIRE nail, not leaving the small gaps on the side (#aintnobodygottimeforthat). My husband and I just moved to South Carolina from Hawaii and this was the first salon we have tried here. It was a wonderful experience. The salon is so clean and inviting. They weren't busy when we arrived so we were seated right away and they really took their time, especially on our massages. Best pedicure I have had in years! Read Less

Wonderful experience with Train, I had seen all the reviews about her and I FINALLY got an appointment with her! Ive been to this salon about many time's with 3 different nail techs. I always had problems after with broken nails, bubbles in Polish, poor shaping of nails etc.. Train did an excellent job on my nails. She was fast and good. No complaints. I had a broken nail and no one could seem to keep a tip on....we will see how long this one lasts. I have really short nail beds so it's difficult to keep a tip on until the nail grows out.I got a nail fixed, rebase acrylic In and out in under 45 minutes. Love it! Very clean nail salon with a relaxing atmosphere! I got the Deluxe Spa Pedicure & it was fabulous! Definitely worth the extra $10. The lady I had was great. She didn't rush at all, spending a lot of time on me & did a great job painting my nails & making sure they looked perfect. The pedicure chairs looked brand new. Charged $5 just for use of their polish. The polish I chose was obviously cheap and old but it remained sticky and undry for hours. My nail polish looks terrible. They were extremely sneaky by charging me extra and forcing me to give an extra tip. Very disappointed and I will not return. Read Less

It was my first time coming here and Train did my nails. She was so sweet and really took her time doing my nails. (Even though they were so busy and had. 25 minute wait)I got a full set of gel and usually after the first week, one at least breaks. It has been 2 weeks and they are still perfect! The salon is nice and clean. I like the look, but I barely had time for my feet to soak before they were pulling them out. I had asked for the spa mani/pedi which was $43. She also talked me into getting my eyebrows waxed....which I needed, but when she talked me into getting gel nail polish, and I asked how much, she held up 3 fingers and said $3. When I went to pay, I almost had a heart attack when she told me the price. When I questioned the price she said, I told you $20. Big difference!! I probably won't go back because I felt like she took advantage of the fact that I had trouble understanding her. And my mani/pedi didn't last as long as I think it should have for $63. Read Less

I've been to this nail salon before and although they are pricier than most they are close to my house so I go back because it's convenient. Every time I go they try to talk me in to something more expensive like gel polish etc... They even asked me if I wanted my eyebrows waxed, my eyebrows are so thin I don't think you could wax them if you wanted to. Today I went in for a pedicure & an acrylic fill. It was $53 total. I asked for the breakdown & the guy who did my nails said the extra $3 was for cutting down my nails. I have been getting my nails filled for 29 years & have never had an additional charge for cutting down nails. It's included! So for $3 they lost a customer!!!! Never going back!!!!!! Read Less

I've been to many nail salons. I love a great mani/pedi. This place, although new, each time has seemed in a rush to get you in and out. You don't get to soak long and I've had better attention to my toes and fingers in the past. The cost of mani/pedi's here in SC is almost $15 more than they are out west, but in my experience at this salon, you don't get half of the service you do out there! The ambiance is nice. A lot of TV's for you to watch, the massage chairs are new and some of the best I've ever sat in. The design of the salon is very upscale and aesthetic. Worst experience in a long time. I wasnt spoken to when i walked in. The nail tech did a bare minimum job. He didnt massage or really moisturize. I asked for red nails with black tips. Very simple. Have had it done numerous times. Instead tech acted like i was an idiot. Two other techs joined in laughing and talking in another language. I left with smeared polish and dry spots on feet. I went there on 8/24/14 to try to relax for a mani pedi and was really looking forward to a good massage on my feet and hands. no one said hello when i walked in. when i asked a question about a certain design for nail art, the owners wife had to go ask someone, and then they laughed at what i had showed then and went back and forth in another language while looking at the photo and looking at me. I noticed they said hello to NO ONE that came in and good bye or thank you to NO ONE that left. The guy who did my nails never said a word and was very unfriendly, other than the normal can i cut and what color. The owners kids were there and were very loud and running up and down the middle aisle and doing cartwheels and just very loud. it is clean and it is new, but that is about as far as it goes. He BARELY massaged anything. and ill be honest, that is pretty much the only reason i will pay for a mani pedi :) i would not go back, ever, even if it were free. they need to learn some manners in there. Moving back to the area, I decided to try out this new nail salon. I'll make this short & sweet. The nail technician was the most unfriendly person that I've ever met. Never spoke a word to me. I requested a full set with the gel polish. They ended up charging me $48 total. I asked them what the charge was for the gel polish and he responded with $19.
