I've visited this location 3 times. The first time was for a pedicure..it was average. The second was for a fillin for my wedding. This salon doesn't do anything "special" I had pictures of pretty simple designs and they couldn't do it. I left and went to another salon. Today I went again as I'm leaving for my honeymoon and they are the only ones open. I was the first client through the door and I asked for a fillin ...I was told "we don't do long nails "...first of all my nails aren't some obscene length...they are a little longer than medium and I wanted them cut down. That was strike one...after pretty much refusing to leave she then tells me the lady that does the fillins isn't here yet. She didn't tell me to have a seat or how long it would be...so I ended up sitting and waiting. Then she comes up to me and says "we wont be able to get the rhinestone off your nails " . Are we in ancient times???? I pulled it up on Google and it takes less than a minute to get it off! Now it's sounding like you don't want my business. Just when I was ready to walk out the lady that does the fillin walks in. She immediately took me and knew exactly how to get the rhinestones off. I have short thin nails so I rarely ever treat myself to an acrylic set. But on my way home, I decided to stop in. I never plan on going back. When I was choosing my nail color, I was asked repeatedly if I wanted gel.. I kept telling her no.. she wouldn't take that as an acceptable answer. I should have left then but I talked myself out of it. I was washing my hands and the nail tech basically threw the hand towel at me. She rushed through the entire process and didn't even bother cleaning the acrylic out from the underside of my nails. I was rushed again to the register then out the door. I was finally able to get a good look at my nails when I got home and I was so disappointed. They we're uneven and bubbly. I did my best to reshape them. But that's $50 I completely wasted. I absolutely love Unique nail Spa. They offer many different kinds of manicures and pedicures, and they give you a whole book to peruse while your feet are soaking. I like the availability of choosing my options and customizing my experience. They do extra steps on basic pedicures, like a sugar scrub exfoliation, and timed 5 minute foot massage. The environment is very relaxing and low key. They have done some remodeling and it looks very nice. Shellac manicures here are reasonably priced. Read Less

I know that the owners of a shop are usually good so I made an appointment with Andy. It took 3 weeks to get in because he’s booked out and he’s good. So ask for Andy, he’s the BEST!!! I have an overlay on top of my long coffin nails and he got them just right for me. He’s done my nails 3 times so far and I’m very pleased. I’m on his books every 2 weeks for 3 months out. The first time I went here, I had a fill in. The guy did an amazing job, so I went back for my next fill in. Unfortunately, they dont take requests, so I had the next person available. He did an awful job. The nails on my left hand were shorter than my right hand. He ground them down very far to where I could feel the heat and it hurt. He slipped once and got my finger. Now 1 week later the polish is chipping off after they told me I had to have gel polish that would last longer. And of course, gel polish is more expensive.I will never go back there! My 11 year old and I went to get a pedi and a mani. My daughter was so pleased and said she felt like a princess. While getting our feet done, one of the techs asked if we wanted to take a pic! That was awesome! Now I have a pic on my phone of both of us getting pampered! I've been going here for a few years and I have NEVER been disappointed! Relaxing music, dim lighting, and relaxation! I followed Michelle when she closed her nail shop. She had done my nails for over 15 years! These wonderful people work hard for their money! This salon has got to be my absolute favorite of any that I have EVER been in. I have been wearing acrylics for over 10 years now and these folks are the most professional and efficient that I have ever seen. I stopped in for a color change while visiting friends from out of town and they took me with no wait. They use fresh files for each client (and you take it home with you), they are pictures at each station for choosing your shapes as well. I went there for a fill in and arrived a little before 5 PM. I was unaware that the time for closing on Sunday's is 5:30-Especially since on their door, the hours for business only says 12:30 on Sundays and nothing else so you guys should fix that to avoid further conflicts :) I signed in and an employee asked what I was there for, to which I responded. She acknowledges what I said and then goes back to finish working with another customer. 25 minutes later another employee comes up to me and asks what I needed, so I told him. He proceeds to tell me that they are closed and I can come back the next day. Mind you, nobody informed me of the closing hours when I first came in, they allowed me to wait thinking that I would receive their services today. Horrible experience. They rushed to do my nails and toes. They nicked my cuticles several times caiusing bleeding. Poor polish job -!the gel polish had bumps in it. I'm not an expert but it seems sketchy seeing the nail techs throw used files and tools back into their drawers without sanitizing them???!!! Read Less

Despite the bad reviews found on yelp, my sister and I thought we would give this place a chance. Huge mistake. We were charged $55.00 for an unprofessional and mediocre job on a manicure/gel polish. I have posted pictures, the job was horrible. The ambiance is pretty professional, so you are fooled into thinking you will be receiving your money's worth. Although the place was empty, my tech rushed through my manicure, not once moistening my nails and barely took care of my cuticles, leaving a lot of residual skin around my nails. She roughly scraped my nail bed and left a lot undone. While applying the nail polish she left the sides unclean, so that the polish dried on my skin and it looks bulky. My sister's job was even worse. Her tech used huge amount of gel polish and left chunks on her nail. Thankfully, I do nails and was able to fix both our nails. I will be moving to this area within two weeks. I am glad now I know where not to go. I do not recommend this place. These are licensed techs, they should know better. I have been to bad places, but this was the worst. One piece of advise to the staff; take care of your customers, do not rush and attention to detail is very important. I've been going here for a couple of years now. It's kind of hit or miss. Certain folks in there do a really great job, but the one younger lady in there has a habit of rushing really quickly. I went with a friend and they sat us both in spa chairs side by side. My lady ran water for me and the lady that young woman that was going to be working on my friend just left her sitting there, no water. My lady was almost done with me before the other lady even started on my friend. However, that young lady went so quickly on my friend that we were both done at the sane time. And she started with her 20 minutes after me. When everything was done, she still had dead skin all over her feet and her polish was coming off the next day. I've gone twice in the past two weeks for a mani pedi and they are always rushing to do the nails. They miss so much. I've had my toes and hands done this past Saturday(5/21/16) and my toes are already chipping because she didn't put a top coat on properly. Just throws the polish and top coat where ever it lands. I've given this business a lot of my time and money. And yet they still don't pay attention to the details. They always seem so bothered when you walk through the door too. The place is nice inside, but they are high priced! I was charged $32.50 for just a manicure with gel polish!!! I almost fainted and felt extremely guilty when I walked out.  I work in Ballantyne and never have paid more than $22 for a manicure with gel polish! Their website states $27 so why did he charge me $32.50!! I should have said something there, but then I knew I would never go back.  I told my friends at work and their reaction was as bad as mine! I went in this past weekend for a pedicure while my mom got fills for her nails. I walked in and immediately went to pick out my color. While the selection was wide, it was clear that several of the polishes were watered down to extend the life of polish in the bottles based on the liquidity of the polish. It was certainly hard to pick a color being that I wanted a color that would last a few weeks.After picking my color, I was directed to "chair 7" for my pedicure. The nail technician was polite and friendly and engaged in small talk, I was more concerned with the playoff game on the TV over her head though. She did offer me a water or soda while I got my nails done. She asked if I would like to upgrade to the deluxe and, not thinking, I did so. I wish I hadn't being that they used a "cooling gel" in the massage portion which actually left me shivering when I left being how cold it is outside. The massage was nice and she did a nice job, was more patient than most with me considering I am rather ticklish and always fear I'm going to kick them in the face. After I got home and looked at the job done, I can see where multiple coats of polish were painted on and where there was just one coat - thankfully it's my feet, not my hands, so it's not as noticeable. After my pedicure, I was directed to the drying table to sit under the lamps for a few minutes. I had noticed they are opening Avalon Spa next door as an extension of their services, I tried to ask a male employee about the new services they would be providing and he seemed to have little interest in answering the questions which was rather disappointing and a shame as, should I have chosen them, I would have spent about $160/month (I can get the same service unlimited for about $50/month up the road so yeah...).I have received pedicures quite frequently over the years and tend to prefer asian salons as they are friendly and do a decent job at a reasonable price. There are standard salons and salons who go the extra mile without upping the cost. For me, this was a standard salon, nothing special. While it's down the road, I will be looking at other salons in the area for that extra mile. Read Less
