So I used to be a faithful client at this salon, because they did wonderful pedicures and manicures. But I broke my toe the day before my appointment. So I called and left a voicemail stating I was cancelling my appointment because I broke my toe. Well, do you know the owner wanted me to pay a 25.00 cancellation fee for not calling and cancelling 24 hrs in advance. Now, I felt that to be inconsiderate being I was a faithful client and how could I predict I was going to break my toe the evening before my appointment. So, I felt my call should have been good enough. Things happen. There was actually a time when I had an event to go to and the nail technician cancelled on me because she had the flu and it was not a 24 hr notice, but I did not make a stink about it because these things happen and are not predictable. Amazing! I have had hair and nails done here, and each experience was the best I have experienced at any salon. Ashley did my hair, and she was fabulous! She really took the time to understand what I was looking for in a haircut, what products would work best with my hair type, and how I styled my hair on an average day, and the result was one of the best haircuts I've ever had! The salon is beautiful, and they offer you a complimentary wine/beer/beverage when you arrive. They have great products. The whole salon often attends conferences in order to continue their education and growth in order to keep up with evolving techniques and trends. I am so impressed with this business. I LOVED my experience here!! I went through chemo for a while and my hair is growing back in finally. Ashley took her time to know exactly what I wanted and was very very personable! I had a great time for the 4 hours I was there and can’t wait to go back in 5 weeks! My results were better than I could have ever expected! Nice ladies, but had a few issues with my experience. Came for a cut and color, just wanted my hair to a dark brown. It ended up black on the ends due to my hair having blonde at the bottom before the coloring, which I did not like. There is also small pieces that are still my natural color that did not get colored. also paid for a cut in which didn't really result in an actual cut. I wanted the smallest amount off of my ends and they weren't touched. And last but not least, either I was overcharged or I paid for a shampoo and style when I wasn't expecting to. Not sure how you can get your hair colored and not have a shampoo included because it has to be washed after the dye. The style was not anything I wanted but they did not give me an option which appealed to me, they asked me if I wanted to let my hair air dry or have it blown out. They were also very quick and rough with my hair yanking it while blow drying it and it hurt. Don't think it was worth the money I paid for it. Maybe it was all a big misunderstanding, not sure. I had my first appointment at Glow Beauty Lounge on a recommendation from a friend. Everyone I encountered was very friendly. I love that any service I want to get I can have done all in one place. The salon is beautiful. I had no idea what color to do for my hair but my friend told me just trust Todd, so I did. Ann, the best hair stylist in North and South Carolinas without a doubt. Wonderful place to relax and get your hair done. Ashley is a great stylist! Even has options for nails and toes. All in one spa like place. Its very modern and has very nice hair stylist. Anyone you go to is awesome! Also, not to add a great view of the Catawba river! You pay for what you get and this is not a great clips. You feel like family every time you come back... Man, I hate being this person! I was so excited to 1) take advantage of family being in town to escape for an hour during nap time as a work-from-home mother of 2 at 11am on a Thursday–at a time I thought would not be busy and 2) find a new place close to me for both nails and hair that has great reviews. Unfortunately I couldn't get my nails done as planned and wasted 25 minutes because there was only 1 nail specialist working and she had an appointment "in a little while." Understanding, I asked if they usually required appointments, but she said no.I have been in the market to find a new hair stylist as well and was hoping this place could do double duty for me, as I live just across the river... bummer. Had hair/makeup done for an event and a bit delayed in leaving a review. Girls at this salon are very nice and the salon itself is lovely, trendy and clean! :) Having had hair and makeup professionally many times previously I was extremely disappointed. Hairstylist was unable to give me my desired style even though I had sent photos ahead of time confirming her abilities. The updo she did was cute but again for what I paid and asked for it was not what I wanted. Makeup application was the worst I have ever had. Knowing ahead of time that I am a red head the makeup artist should have confirmed she had the correct colors for my skin and hair. Warm tones! I ended up with ashy-toned/shiny skin and the colors overall very uncomplimentary to my coloring. I am sure for others it would be lovely but on me it was awful. As my husband drove us to our event I was scrubbing my face trying to "fix" my $250+ investment. I will not be back. Read Less
