I love going to Woodhouse because the staff are so perceptive and excellent at what they do. I enjoyed the mimosa bar that was set up on Mother's day and the delicious smelling deep steep products in the locker room. My only concern is that the shower area tile is in need of some deep cleaning or repair. The white grout (unfortunately) shows everything. However the staff are excellent and I still feel it's the best spa in Charleston. Read Less

This was our first time visiting Woodhouse and we'll definitely be back! Unbeknownst to us, we went on a Sunday, which was Mimosa day! We went for a couples massage, facial, and pedicure. Everyone there was kind and friendly. My massage therapist was Joy and she worked wonders! As with most, I carry stress in my neck and back. She worked out some major knots I had in my back. Had a wonderful experience from start to finish at woodhouse today. The relaxation rooms are perfect with lots of comfy seating and calming music. The dressing rooms are fully stocked with anything you might need (robes, lockable lockers, towels, sugar scrubs, shampoo, cond., shoes, hair dryers and more). They had a mimosa bar set up free of charge and offered more drink selections as well. And of course they had self serve cucumber water. The staff is excellent and checking in just enough to get you whatever you desire. Highly recommend the Woodhouse. My massage from Melissa was perfectly balanced and tension relieving and got me to my perfect state of relaxation. I love that I could take my time leaving and enjoy the atmosphere. My best friend and I recently had a girls day at the Woodhouse. I really hate that so many places use the word spa as many are just rooms with a massage therapist or a salon/spa. This place is truly a SPA. From the moment we entered we were led by hand to what our experience would be like. The receptionists are professional and well groomed. We were escorted to the women's locker room and handed robes and sandals that actually fit! They carried every size shoe and robes from XS to 4X! There is nothing worse than being full figured and being handed a one size fits all Once we changed clothes and put on outlet luxurious robes we were led into a dimly lit lounge area to await our services. There were snacks and teas and we were both assured that anything we wished for would be found for us whether that was wine, beer, coffee, fruit, etc. It was explained that there was a full service shower with any grooming needs in the locker room and that once our services were completed we could literally spend the entire day there sleeping or relaxing. I was then called to have my massage initially and received a wonderful deep tissue massage. The therapist was thorough and quiet. There is nothing worse than a massage therapist that talks too much. It was the perfect amount of pressure for what I needed. Once finished we were led to a private room to lay under blankets and drink, eat and sleep. We probably stayed another two hours after our services. It is truly what a spa experience should be. When we walked out it was like we had been in another dimension. Well I've always heard such great things about this spa and was so looking forward to my visit. I showed up 15 mins prior to my appointment time and the front desk informed me they had no record of my appointment. I originally scheduled a 80 minute massage and they just said we can't find it. I understand mistakes happen but I was frustrated non the less. They did rebook an appointment for an hour later and told me I could sit in their relaxation room until my appointment. The offered a mimosa and never brought it to me. Then I get called back and my massage therapist was a guy which the front desk never asked my preference on having male or female, I have only ever asked for females so I was taken back when a guy showed up. My massage was absolutely terrible. I hate to say that but I asked for firm pressure and for him to only massage my back and shoulders. I'm a hairstylist so that's the only thing I wanted massaged. He said I'm going to work on your legs and feet too. I said that I just wanted to work on my back and he did not listen. Meanwhile during the massage he talked the whole time! I do not ever want to talk during my massages. His pressure was way too light and I didn't relax at all!!! Not to mention it was only a 50 minute massage not the 80 that was originally requested. Had an awesome Hydrafacial here today with Katie Roark. Definitely recommend her, she is fantastic. My skin looks so bright and healthy. The spa is really relaxing. Nice snacks and flavored waters. Today I had a yummy strawberry mimosa!They have a cute shop up front with a lot of great stuff (bath robes, skin care product, sandals, jewelry, makeup, etc) which is really fun. I really enjoyed this spa .  It is the perfect retreat for relaxation and pampering. The locker room was spacious and offers toiletries for anything you might need during your visit. The robe they provide is super comfortable and the waiting room lush and cozy. It seems that they have two waiting rooms to separate men and women and I like that. Nothing kills my spa vibe than being in a robe trying to relax with dudes all around - as I have experienced at other local spas. My 80 minute deep tissue massage was excellent. The therapist was very good at pinpointing tight muscles and working out the knots. It was so relaxing! Massage was followed by the "minkyti" facial. My skin has been a little dry and this facial is supposed to help with hydration by using organic seaweed . My esthetician was very sweet and professional and I really loved this treatment. I really appreciated that she did not try to push skin care products on me during the treatment which helped me be able to relax and enjoy the service. I also appreciated that the walls were well insulated and the building spacious enough so you did not hear any background noise from other guests or employees. That is sometimes not the case at other spas and it unfortunately detracts from the experience. After my services they ushered me back to the waiting room and offered me a mimosa. My experience at Woodhouse amazing. I scheduled massages and facials (express hydrafacials) for my mom and I to celebrate her 60th birthday. To start, the changing and relaxation rooms are both top notch. Clean, comfy, very enjoyable. Same goes for the robes and slippers. Both services we had were amazing and all 4 staff were fantastic and very professional. They even gave my mom a little gift bag upon leaving of samples and even some jewelry/hair ties etc. that were full retail size they sell in store. I had an amazing anniversary here. I received a gift card from my husband on my birthday,and decided to use it while he was working anyway. What a perfect day. It's very clean inside and the front doors are adorable. I was given a robe and sandals and shown to the locker room which was immaculate. They have such beautiful wood furnishings and little soaps and scrub for your hands. When I got into the big fluffy robe I walked into the relaxation area which was so beautiful. I felt like I was in "the Masters chair" in Beauty and the Beast. My tea was sitting there waiting for me and a big fluffy UGG blanket. I didn't even know they made those?! I was given a heated neck wrap and had the place all to myself for most of the time. Lesley came to get me and was so sweet. Lesley gave one of the most thorough massages I've had, and though I wasn't referred to her,( I was asked this multiple times,) I am referring her now to all of you Googlers! She didn't talk, just checked in,and was so professional. I have never been to a spa where I could just be. The therapists love to ask me questions if the know I used to be an LMT, but this time I tried to keep it secret. I would return to Lesley next time I visit! You're in good hands, literally! From the second I walked in I felt like royalty. This harried mom who goes 100 miles a minute all of the time working for everyone else felt like I was the one who was the focus. The staff treats everyone as if they are the only person in the room. The atmosphere is amazing and comforting. The therapists are extremely knowledgeable and left me feeling relaxed and renewed. My husband booked a 80 min massage here for me, for my birthday.  This was hands down the best massage I have ever had.  I used to go to Massage Envy once a month and tried several of the therapists there, I didn't have any complaints but I have never felt better then I did after walking out of here.  I carry all my tension in my shoulders and it seems no matter what I do the knots don't go away, now they weren't totally gone but pretty close.  The spa itself is gorgeous inside.  The quite room is so peaceful, I hustled wanted to take a nap by the fire, I could stay in there all day.  The locker room is really nice, lots of fun products for you to sample.  I will definitely be back. The waiting rooms are as comfortable as you are ever likely to find (chaises with plush blankets!) and the locker room is organized and spotless. I just had the pleasure of enjoying my first treatment at Woodhouse Day Spa and I immediately had to write a review to share with the virtual world!  I had a lovely 50 minute Swedish massage with Kerri, who I am convinced is an angel.  I arrived approximately 45 minutes before my treatment to maximize relaxation time in the two luxurious quiet rooms.  I filled out the necessary paperwork and relaxed in a cozy chaise while enjoying a mimosa.  The atmosphere at Woodhouse is fantastic and could not be better for rejuvenation and relaxation.  The reception area is filled with lovely skin products, jewelry, and spawear.  I will definitely be booking another treatment very soon and have already declared that Woodhouse gift certificates is all I want for every gift giving occasion from now on. I had an eyebrow wax, the signature mani and a hot stone pedi. Fabulous treatments all enjoyed while sipping a mimosa. Afterwards I sat in one of the waiting rooms. I covered with a blanket, sipped cucumber water and let my toes fully dry.Ahhhh. I wanna go back tomorrow. Note: I was really happy to learn that there are several Woodhouse Spas around the country and that there is one near Columbus Ohio where I'm from. This made my day! So not only do I get to enjoy Woodhouse when I'm on vacation in South Carolina, but I can make it a regular part of my routine when I'm at home! Read Less

My sister and I went for a special Galentine's day massage special. I was immediately impressed by the clean facilities and plush bathrooms. The lounge area had trail mix as snacks and they offered mimosas for the special event. I thought my massage was very relaxing but very light for my liking. I requested more pressure a couple times but didn't believe it impacted the pressure. My sister found her massage to be much deeper, so it must vary greatly by masseuse as we listed the same pressure on the forms. I am docking the star because I found the check out situation to be a little odd. My sister and I checked out with different people (mine was with the general manager and hers was with another employee). Since my bill was $10 more for the same service, I inquired. Instead of simply explaining the difference, the general manager asked for my sister's card to charge her an extra $10 due to an error on their part. Although my sister did pay the extra amount, I found the general manager's response and attitude to be very off-putting. Read Less

I expected amazing things based on the exterior and the fact that I was spending $600!  I was not impressed and won't return.  We booked a couples day to include a massage, facial and pedicure.  Staff greeting us was very friendly and accommodating.  The massage staff we each had were wonderful, friendly and the massage was excellent!  Next, was the facial and I was completely NOT impressed. The young lady I had was friendly but that was NOT a facial. It was 1 hour of some soap like product where she lightly massaged my face.  I have had MANY facials and they are very organized in the steps they take and treat the skin.  This was a light facial massage.  My friend said he had extractions on his (I did not) but yet he also said it was not anything like facials he had in the past.  Our final service was a pedicure.  The 2 women were not at all friendly!!  Their moods almost made it uncomfortable. They were very disorganized and getting up and down many times to get things from the cabinets.  Overall I have a much better experience at other local spas and won't return. Read Less

I had the pleasure of experiencing this spa during one of their $75 specials. You could choose between a 50 min Swedish massage or a 50 min Organic Discovery Facial. I went with the facial and I am so pleased that I did!! The atmosphere was so pleasant as soon as you enter. The staff is so attentive and welcoming that I spent the majority of my afternoon there relaxing without hesitation! My husband I went here last week for massages to celebrate our birthdays (belated for him and early for me).  I found the online booking to be a little challenging; it could have been user error or it could be the site itself, but I couldn't book two appointments at the same time.  When I called the spa the next day, the woman I spoke with was very friendly and helpful and got everything sorted out.  The woman who checked us in for our appointments was very friendly and welcoming and made sure we were comfortable and relaxed.  It is a nice touch that they offer you a cocktail or non-alcoholic beverage while you wait.  The spa was very clean and inviting.  We both had hot stone massages and while we certainly enjoyed them, we both agreed that it was more of a Swedish massage with warm stones used as accessories.  I wouldn't spend the extra for a hot stone massage here again.  We both are on our feet day and have running-related aches and pains and were looking for the hot  stone experiences we've had elsewhere--hot oil + hot stone = muscles melting, pain going away.  The only awkward moment was when I  checked out and paid.  I was asked if I planned to tip and explained that I wanted to do that separately and not put the gratuities on my credit card.  The manager asked me what percentage I planned to tip.  There were no envelopes available for a gratuity and no line to add one on the credit slip, so I had to hand her the tips.  It was an odd interaction and seemed very crass to me and left a really bad last impression. I highly recommend the Woodhouse Day Spa.  With 2 children under 2, I don't get very much time to myself - so when I go for a massage, I want to be pampered.  The Woodhouse did that for me.  After being greeted, I was led to a changing room to change into a soft, fluffy rob and offered a mimosa.  The details matter to me and I appreciated the ring dish in my locker as well as the spa samples available for use at the sink.  After changing, I was led to the quiet room to relax before my massage.  I had a 50-minute Deep Tissue massage with Jeremy.  He was excellent.  Very skillful and experienced.Again, a wonderfully luxurious and relaxing experience.  Prices are on the higher end, but in my opinion, worth it.
