I took my daughter and niece here to have their nails done despite the negative reviews my daughter told me about stating the staff was disrespectful. I ignored the reviews because my Mom, Aunt and cousin have had good experiences here. Well, guess what, I was disappointed because witnessed first hand disrespect from the pregnant nail tech. This was so disheartening. I understand there are pregnancy mood swings but when you are providing a paid service you should be respectful and professional at all levels. I do love the younger staff. My first time here at The Nail Spa. I had to find a new salon since I was getting Knick’s and cuts on my cuticles (fingers and toes) by the former nail place I was going to. Sophia was recommended to me by my daughter and I have to say.... she is awesome! Sophia listened to my concerns and what I was looking for. She took her time being extra careful of my thin cuticles on my fingers as well as taking care of my toes with TLC. I always get great service here. The last time I went though, the man who did my pedicure did a half way job at best. The hot rocks were Luke warm. I sat with my feet in the water for 10 minutes while he finished someone else. I had to ask for detail on my nail. No wax treatment on my feet. I was very disappointed. The place is kind of mess and did not seem very clean. I almost left, but needed a quick mani on my lunch break. They did an ok job on my mani. The part that grosses me out is that I am pretty sure my nail lady did not wash her hands between the prior person's pedi and my mani. Yuck! Moncks Corner is lacking in nail salons (and everything really), so I am sure they will stay in business due to lack of other options. Cleanliness should be a top priority in nail salons and I didn't see that here. They were also not friendly at all, but I expect that at nail salons and do not care. First of all, they don't deserve any stars at all! The first time I went, I had a good experience. Two days ago, I went and asked for the man who had done my pedicure before, the owner, named Lin. I had actually made an appointment. Got seated, he slapped on the massage chair very abruptly, didn't speak to me, didn't make eye contact, and I just sat there watching him. I was so surprised because he had been so cordial the last time. He was EXTREMELY rough with my feet, and I was grimacing as he stabbed at me with one of the instruments. He paid no attention. I even said to him "you're quiet today" to which he responded "yes", yet he continued to speak in his language to his co-workers. He tore at the the top of my foot with the file which is only for the BOTTOM of one's feet and I was freaking out because he was so rough. The last time I was in, he told me about this new "machine" that you put your feet and hands in and it dries within a minute. This time, he didn't say anything about it so I asked him and he went over, got the spray dry and sprayed my toes. He didn't help me from the chair to the fan table to dry my feet, didn't thank me for the GENEROUS tip which I still gave me despite him being rude and unprofessional. I will NEVER set foot in that place again. I will never give my hard earned money to someone that rude and hateful again. To top it all off, he only did a so so job. Oh, and he burned my feet when he was rinsing them off because the water was so hot. Ridiculous!!!! I hope they shut down for lack of business! Wonderful technicians that did my pedicure! They knew what they were doing and even when they got busy they did not rush through the pedicure like most places do. Incredibly clean and nice!!! Their selection of colors are also great as well!!!! Can't wait to go back!!! Read Less

Quality, attention to detail, and precision. Things I never really paid attention to in a manicure, but wow! When you go to a place that does care about these things, it makes such a difference. Especially when it is a very affordable deal! I didn't feel rushed at all. And rather than being forced to pay before having my nails painted, I was politely asked if I would prefer to pay now. I really love this place. First time here and it blew away most of the local shops in my opinion. The ladies were all very friendly and really took their time. Didn't get a design but I definitely will next time as the choices seem endless. Highly recommend and you can grab a coffee next door before you head in to get pampered. Read Less
