I was very displeased with services we received. I went in for a pedicure, an elderly lady did my nails it was clear to me she couldn’t see very well went I pointed out how there was dead skin clearly poking out around my nail.Then she proceeded to jab me with clippers taking a huge chunk out of skin causing my toe to bleed heavily. So I recently moved to the Hanahan area and thought I would try them out. I have been getting gel nails for over 3 years and love how well they last. I went in last week for a full set of gel nails and a pedicure. Pedicure seemed to come out fine but my manicure was a mess! Like, a real mess. My nails were cut so short they HURT and were completely crooked. Not only that, they had bubbles, were messy and started to come off day 3 ( at a work convention, very classy). I decided to go back so they could make it right. Not only do my nails look just as bad, there did not cut my cuticles, take the dirt out from under my nails or even even them out. I had to ask SEVERAL times for them to clean under my nails and trim them before they finally did....ONE HAND! I have boxy nails, uneven and paint all over my actually finger. Do not go here. I am not one to complain but I will never waist my hard earned money here again. It will be worth the drive to James Island for me. Read Less

I wouldn't go back there. You can clearly see the difference layers of polish, the lady had a few of my nails crooked and I had to have her fix them, there was alot of polish on my skin around the nails when I left, the tips are not completely covered with polish and near the cuticles are even straight lines. Horrible! Went in to just get natural nails painted using gel nail polish. The guy didn't even cover my entire nail and the polish was uneven. I had to have him redo it. He also used the drill to get the old nail polish off, which destroyed my natural nail bed. Absolutely ridiculous and will not return. Highly recommended you all go somewhere else! Read Less

I went in on a Thursday around midday. There was only one other person there getting a service, so another person came out and escorted me to the pedicure station. There were only two nail techs working that day. She seemed friendly, and I was happy that I found a place quite close to work that I could pop into quickly during the lunch hour. After about 10 minutes 2 ladies walked in and from there on I could feel that the lady doing my nails was getting anxious. The attention to detail and customer service was quickly thrown out the window. She started to rush as if she had to hurry to serve the next person, so the 2 ladies would not leave. She basically kept staring in their direction to see if they were impatient. Now mind you, the ladies were just chatting it up as old friends do and showed no indication that they were upset with the wait. I felt rushed and as if my money/service/time didn't matter. Decided to treat myself to a mani while I waited to go spray tanning. Big mistake! The mani took one hour, that is not including dry time. The tech was on the phone while painting my nails. This place is gross. My manicure involved cheap lotion up the the elbows, a quick nail buff, and 5 layers of gel before Polish. I had two technicians. The gal applying lotion had dirty, long nails and person #2 was sick as a dog. It was filthy and I would rather be inconvenienced with the drive into Goose Creek. Read Less

Went in for mani/pedi and sat for an hour before they started on me.  Only 2 people working and not moving fast.  This was Friday at 4:00.  Several people were turned away.  Few people waiting when I left.  Only ot pedi and scrapped the mani - not enough time.  In at 4:0 almost 6:00 when I left with just pedi . AWFUL. Literally the WORST pedicure I have ever received. I saw the negative reviews and also the negative things being said about them on the tanner plantation Facebook board but I didn't listen due to proximity to my house. Nail polish all over the skin around my nails, cuticles cut down so much that there are chunks of my toe skin missing, slow service, and unfriendly workers. I will never return. I had a really good experience at this salon. I went in for an eyebrow wax ($10) and the lady did such a great job! I hardly felt any pain and my eyebrows look very good. I also went in for acrylic nails because I've never had them and it ended up costing $35 but she was very precise on how she sculpted them down to an almond shape, how I wanted them. I ended up leaving paying $55 including a 10 dollar tip. Read Less

I go to Tanner Nails regularly due to it being a convenient location to my home.  I like that I don't need an appointment, and I work it in when they aren't likely to be busy so I don't have to wait.  You have to consider what kind of salon it is to be fair in evaluating and rating.  I used to pay $65 with tip for a pedi and needed an appointment when I used to go to a high end salon.  I pay $25 here, so I am out the door for $35 with a $10 tip.  I get great service with a $10 tip, they remember that I tip well and treat me accordingly.  You have to be specific about what you want and what you do and do not like, as with any service, to have a great experience.  Kevin is always great, but the older man does give the best foot massage!  I consider Tanner Nails a good value for the money. I will list the negatives:I am pretty sure I was over charged. 65$ for a medi and pedi, nails had gel polish. I was in a rush so I couldn't really argue with her, but that in itself will cause me not to go back.I went there at 3pm and didnt get out until 5pm, and I was the ONLY client in there. The technician was watching tv and asking me what was going on. Awful.  I read some reviews and it seemed to be hit or miss.  Service: french pedicure. Ambiance: very dated. My biggest problem is the nail technician (do no know his name, just a younger man) was pushing back the cuticles on my toes and being so rough I started bleeding on 2 different toes from the tool.  I told him that it hurts and it mumbled "sorry".  I was bleeding and he just stuck my foot in the water.  I would have given 2 starts but what made the experience was the fact that he used a very gritty scrub to "massage" my calves and feet with instead of a lotion.  It was so coarse and rough like sand paper I ended up have red streaks down my legs.  It was not very enjoyable at all.  The worse experience I have ever had and I have been to MULTIPLE nail salons ranging from many different cities.  I waited to write this review to see how long the polish stayed on.  One week later, half of my toes have the white painted tips peeling and chipping off (I have only been wearing flip flops). I also have scabs under both nails of both toes that still hurt. Very disappointed and will not be back.I would also like to add that the chair I was in was broken and had an old pillow in it for more support.  I was able to incline the chair and he got really rude with me because it was not the position he wanted it in.  I am pregnant and wished I could have been more comfortable. I have been here twice now.  It is clean, the chairs are AMAZING (I like the roller part on my back).  I have seen Kevin twice.  The first time my mani lasted TWO WEEKS with NO CHIPS! So far the second one is looking just as good. I do the normal every day stuff too cleaning, dishes etc. My only issue was when I asked if I could book an appointment it was like pulling teeth to get them to put it in the book.  I found that odd.  I did not want to have to wait the next time I came since they seem to only have 2-3 people during the week in the morning.  Other than that it is a great place.
