I use to live in Columbia and frequented this nail salon every 2 weeks for 10 years. I have never gotten good vibes from the woman owner. Her husband is very nice and Don and Kim are really nice. The woman owner never smiles and is rude to customers. You would think that customers she sees twice monthly for 10 years she would appreciate and get to know. I moved to Charlotte and visit Columbia on occasion. I have walked in twice over the past year while I was visiting to see if I could get my nails done. Both times the woman owner greeted me and said nobody could do my nails. The first time I went in , I though maybe I just hit at a bad time, but just last week I walked in on a Thursday and was told the same thing. I know this lady remembered me from prior visits, but she didn't even bother to offer me an appointment for later in the day or anything. I walked out and went straight to my car and called the salon and asked for an appoinment in 30 minutes. Her reply was , " sure...what do you need done?" Obviously I was furious and blasted her on the phone as to why she didn't offer me an appointment in 30 min instead of just telling me she couldn't do my nails? She started yelling something back and I just hung up. I'm thinking now that she has intentionally turned me away because i am not a frequent customer anymore. Hmmmmmmm...... Little does she know that I have moved 2 hours away from Columbia...I have NEVER been turned away from a nail salon like I have this one. But...thats ok...I just went a mile down the road to Nail Spa on Lake Murray Blvd walked in and was greeted with a smile and they were HAPPY to do my nails. I will NEVER patronize Star Nails EVER again. This woman owner needs to learn to smile and appreciate her customers more. PLEASE....act like you know the customers that have helped you stay in business ALL these years....

They are usually very busy, so call ahead for an appointment. But they always do a great job - worth the wait!

I am an African-American female. Walked into this business and before the door was closed the owner gave me a fake smile and tells me that they are too busy to help me. The lady did not ask me if I wanted to wait or what I wanted. I tried to give this place another chance after previously being looked down on by the owner. However these people are the definition of racist!

I'm an African-American female, and every single time I go to this place to get nail service, it's always some excuse as to why they can't do my nails. So I end up driving further than I want to in order to get my nails done. I can do them my self because I, myself am a Nail Technician, but because my children have breathing problems I can't do my nails at home. Last night was the final straw with me, but I called this morning to see if they would fit me in. I was trying to give them a chance. All I needed was a nail repair because my nail cracked and I didn't want to drive all the way to Forest Drive to my normal nail salon. Now me being a nail tech, i know that you have to do acrylic nails to get your license. So why this man lies in my face saying only two people in the shop are the only ones that can fix my nail but they're busy. REALLY!!!! If I was Caucasian they would've fix my nail. RACISM at best!!!!!!!!! Don't go to this salon, they're unprofessional and they will get their Karma. They get ZERO stars from me the only reason why I chose one star is to post this review!

This place was wonderful. Took my 5 yr old for a manicure & pedicure and they were so accommodating and treated her like a little princess. I highly recommend this place.

I like the guys and the other lady that are workers in this salon. The owner who sits at the front is so rude, and almost looks like you are doing her a favor to give her business. The bathrooms are also very dirty! I will not be back!!! I am so glad Aiza is now offering nail services!!!

Will not be back. The woman I suspect to be the owner was very rude. First she disapproved of my color choice , then insisted I paid as soon as I sat at the dryer. I was also charged an extra $5 to thoroughly remove the dead skin off my feet. Disappointing.

The lady did not ask me if I wanted to wait or what I wanted. I tried to give this place another chance after previously being looked down on by the owner. I'm an African-American female, and every single time I go to this place to get nail service, it's always some excuse as to why they can't do my nails. So I end up driving further than I want to in order to get my nails done. I can do them my self because I, myself am a Nail Technician, but because my children have breathing problems I can't do my nails at home. Last night was the final straw with me, but I called this morning to see if they would fit me in. I was trying to give them a chance. I like the guys and the other lady that are workers in this salon. The owner who sits at the front is so rude, and almost looks like you are doing her a favor to give her business. The bathrooms are also very dirty! I will not be back!!! I am so glad Aiza is now offering nail services!!!

Will not be back. The woman I suspect to be the owner was very rude. First she disapproved of my color choice , then insisted I paid as soon as I sat at the dryer. I was also charged an extra $5 to thoroughly remove the dead skin off my feet. Disappointing.
