Arrived 15 min early for my appt to be told that the eye brow waxer was running 10 minutes late and she had one client ahead of me, that’s fine it happens. The one client ahead of me arrived late and was still taken back before me. I was not seen until 30 minutes after my original appointment time. I have had two really great experiences here. The first was to fix some grown out highlights and the second to get my hair highlighted again before my engagement photos. Both visits were done in good time and I ended up with my hair looking lovely. The atmosphere is bright and lively and they offer an assortments of tea and coffee for their guests. There is also a great selection of hair styling products and make-up to peruse. My favorite part was that my stylist was great about working with my wavy/curly hair texture and helping me learn how to enhance it rather than just blowing my hair straight. I recently had an appointment with Johnna for a cut and balayage color. I don't usually color my hair so I was stepping outside the box. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE MY HAIR! Johnna did an amazing job and she made me feel extremely comfortable while I was getting it done. I showed her a picture of what I wanted and she did it exactly like it! I have been going to Stella Nova for about 4 years now and it has always been amazing. I have had so many compliments on my hair since I have had it colored. I feel like I can always trust their stylists and they are very honest about what will look good for each individual. Casey at the Mt. Pleasant location did wonders with my hair. I always walked out of the salon with bright highlights and a fresh cut that I loved. However, the male who works at the front desk is so incredibly rude. His condescending attitude-- in person and on the phone-- always left me with a negative feeling about the salon. I just called to schedule my next appointment and am so fed up with him that I am deciding to move on-- even if it means leaving my best hair behind. Always an exceptional experience! I have been going to Stella Nova in Mt. Pleasant for several years now and I always enjoy my time spent there and walk out with exactly what I envisioned. Kelly is hands-down the best with cuts and balayage, Melinda is one of the only threaders in town and does beautiful brows, and Pam's mani/pedis are to die for. I've seen several of the other master stylists over the year when Kelly has not been available on short notice and I have never once been disappointed. I have an appt. and a gift card I wanted to use for tomorrow. already have an appt. set up. I set up my appointment over 2 weeks ago. Not very happy though & not looking forward to coming in. It's not really what i wanted. i wanted to be able to get EVERYTHING done in one day. Especially a pre-natal massage. But there is only 1 person that does them. So I called to change my appt. around and see if I could just come in do hair and make-up and schedule nails, massage, and facial for another day, of course there was no one that could do make up. Noelle of Stella Nova saved the day for me! I am from Hilton Head Island and had a medical procedure at MUSC that resulted in my hair being exposed to acetone (yes, nail polish remover!) and some horrible goop. I looked like Nick Nolte when I left the medical office! But Noelle did a superb job of washing and styling my hair - she is fantastic! The entire staff of Stella Nova could not have been more accommodating, and I will certainly recommend this salon to my Hilton He...ad and Charleston friends. Being from out of town and not knowing where to go, I consider myself very fortunate to have found Stella Nova and Noelle that day! P.S. Stella Nova was my salon for my wedding, and they were great! All staff were great and easy to work with, and their Bridal Bond process was very smooth. Tim scheduled all appointments, including hair and makeup trial for me, and day of hair and makeup for my sister and 6 bridesmaids. Pamella did a great job on my nails! On the day of the wedding, 10/3/2015 there was historic rain and flooding in SC, but when I arrived at Stella Nova, it was business as usual! Malory did my makeup and Kasey did my hair, and both were incredible during a bit of a stressful time for me.
