This is the worst salon I've ever been to. The staff is rude, unprofessional, and poorly skilled. I've had bad experiences with eyebrow waxes, gel manicure, full sets, and pedicures. The only reason I go is because it is convenient for someone who lives downtown, but I will never be back. The salons in Charleston are overpriced because it is a tourist area and they know people will spend the money, but they are truly TERRIBLE. They will mess up your service, half ass fix it, and THEN try to charge you the full price. They often walk away in the middle of your service and end up having 3 different people work on you. It seems as though they discriminate against younger people and their only interest is to cater to older clients. It's sad and I wish they would get a new salon in their place. If I could have done zero stars or just a hint of a star I would....The worst salon experience I have EVER had! I needed a power dipped manicure to be removed... I had to explain to them how to remove them. The lady that was assisting me left and went to go work on someone else and never said a word (or came back to me for that matter - and there were 2 or three other folks that weren't working on someone that could have started on the person that the lady helping me ended up going to).... My husband who was getting a manicure was almost done before someone came to look at my nails.... And they didn't know how to remove the foils to get the old manicure off (it's gel like and sticky so you have to somewhat squeeze and pull - not just lift up the cotton)... Then a guy comes out with a dremel! Like a for real dremel with a regular dremel bit on it! Ummm... I was like NOPE... I am good I don't need a manicure and proceeded to take off the foils myself (and I got most of it off).... Then another lady comes and is like are you sure we can't do your manicure... Let me at least buff for you... At that point I was just done... Since my husband was still finishing up I allowed her to buff (so it didn't look as horrible) but... As soon as he was finished we got out of there.... He wanted me to be pampered that day and felt so bad... But he had no clue and no one to reference for a good nail salon downtown. This is the most unprofessional salon. I’ve visited several times and always love how my nails look, but do not expect a relaxing experience. The girl who started my pedicure abruptly left when another customer walked in and without saying anything to me, never returned. After 10 minutes I was then switched to an older lady who was very rude. There was a discrepancy with a customer not tipping both employees on a manicure + massage, and they publicly embarrassed the client. So uncomfortable for everyone. Read Less

Not the Outcomes I would have hoped for three people, $190 including tip.  Poor quality work.  One of our three people is removing her nail polish today, one day later, because her nails are so messed up.  And she actually had them repaint both big toes before she left.  The basic pedicure us VERY basic.  If you get a pedicure for the massage, don't get the basic because you'll be disappointed.  The only thing worse than poor quality work is poor quality work that you pointed out during the actual visit that they refuse to address.  Pick another nail salon.  There are a number close by. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!! I do not know the name of who did my nails, but it was an older asian woman with glasses.  The nails were good, but this lady had me BLEEDING at the table!!! There should be no reason that someone should be bleeding while getting their nails done.  When she saw me bleeding she kept going and didn't even apologize or try to wipe it or anything.  I literally had to ask her "So you gonna wipe that off?"  When she was finished with my nail, she asked if I liked it and I expressed my concern about my finger bleeding because she cut me on not 1 finger but TWO of my fingers were bleeding.  She literally sat there and argued with me and kept saying "But nail pretty."  I asked for the manager 3 times before she got someone and I saw her in the back talking trash about me.  When the manager came they continued to argue with me and the "manager" said that I was bleeding because she handled my cuticles right.  They argued with me for about 20 minutes about how it was ok that I was bleeding at a nail salon.  They never once apologized.  There is no reason this place should still be open. There is no way in hell that the lady actually has a license to do anyone's nails, if she does it needs to be taken away. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. This was the second time I had been to this spa. The first, was great... so great, that I came back for another bachelorette party. The second trip was not what I was expecting. Before my weekend trip I had been emailing a staff member and they were very nice and accommodating. We ( myself, another bridesmaid and the bride) arrived a little early to our appointment on a Friday around 12:30. We did not have a wait time even though we were early which was nice but the service for he bride was terrible. She was in pain while getting her pedicure, was not being listened to while telling the tech what she was wanting on her fingers. She asked for a simple gel polish but had to stop the tech multiple times to tell her that was all. Another staffer told her "I'm going to give you advice that your not going to like. Pick your color for your nails ahead of your wedding day!" The bride had had lots of trouble picking out a color because they were not taking the polishes out that they had run out of... therefore it was her fault she was picking the out of stock ones?? Overall, they did a decent job on my nails but the experience was unpleasant. Apparently they were under-staffed so they were rushing me through. The lady who did my pedicure didn't spend more than 10 mins total for a gel pedicure. The women who did my manicure was so rushed she looked visibly frazzled. I told her I wasn't in a hurry so she got up and started working on someone else! Then she put paraffin wax bags on my hand and let me sit until I told her I wanted to leave---she forgot to tell me they would be extra cost. While my nails look ok, my calluses didn't look great and I paid $106 to be rushed in and out. If you're not staffed properly don't take so many customers. I would not go back. Read Less

Love it here. White wine, a little on the high end side in comparison to other businesses locally. I was referred from a friend in the beauty industry and they are very efficient. Ask for victor! They have wine, beverages and a full staff that's friendly. I walked in to the salon to what felt like a cloud of cigarette smoke. The place wreaked of the incredibly strong, pungent odor. I picked my color and sat down at a pedicure chair. The experience was fine and pleasant yet I've had far better pedicures at other salons. My toe nails are uneven after the cut and file, and bits of polish remain on my toes. This place is fine in a pinch if you're desperate for a pedicure but if you're in the mood to enjoy yourself and be pampered, I'd suggest going elsewhere. Overall, it got the job done but the smell of the place, the paint job, and the fact that there basically was no leg massage will deter me from coming back when I want a really good pedicure. Asked not to remove my calluses because I'm a runner, and was told no, don't worry, I'll make them smooth for you. Okay, fine. But was so aggressive on my cuticles that I bled. Our experience was awesome. My husband and I had a couples massage with Kayla and Benji. Best massages we ever had! Was skeptical at first about this day spa since no reviews were on the massages. My experience was terrible!!! The location of the place is great! it was right in the hotel where we were staying for the weekend. For the girls day out we stopped by to see if they could accommodate us. They said that they would be able to help us, which was great at the time, but thats when it all went downhill. We picked up the gel nail color samples, and my girlfriends went to the nail polish wall to decide on the color. Literally 5 seconds later the older asian lady stared yelling at me and telling me that if I wanted gel mani,I had to sit down. I was so confused with how disrespectful she was that I just set down, hoping she would give me time later to pick my color, which never happened, so i had to get the first sample color that looked decent... The woman started doing my mani, but also yelling at my girlfriends that they had to sit down too.. ok if you don't have a lot of time to do our nails- let us know! don't disrespect and rush your clients! anyways, my nails where done and painted in unbelievably fast amount of time, which could've been a good thing if she did a decent job.. but it was literally the worst mani i have ever had! i can do a better job my self! and we came there for experience, not to get yelled at and rushed out! I requested for my nails to be round, which is my natural shape, every nail ended up being different oval shapes and the polish was applied very sloppy.. I had my "gel" mani on Saturday, its Tuesday now and it already stared chipping. My actually gel mani usually lasts about 2 weeks, not 3 days! Hit or miss. I've gone here many times, but you never know if they'll be busy or not or who you'll get.  They sometimes take an appointment, but most often just say it's walk-in only.  It used to be much cleaner. Today, it was empty, except for one client and two workers sitting at the back talking. They acted as though it was a bother to have a client.  It REEKED of cigarette smoke, which they blamed on the cigar shop next door. I began to put my feet into the pedicure basin, and noticed hair floating in the water.  That was it for me.  I walked out and won't be back unless they vastly improve and clean things up. Read Less

Me and my husband just moved to the area and I thought this place looked nice so I thought we would give it a try. I'm pregnant so I wanted a nice relaxing mani pedi, I got the lavender scrub pedi that said it was good for stress and loosening muscles, and my husband got the men's sport pedi. The man I got seemed to be rushing through mine, while my husband was still getting his feet rubbed after they rushed me into another chair to start on my manicure. I said I didn't want acrylic or gel I just wanted natural nails but this guy would not stop trying to make me get gel the entire time  and the lady who was working on my husband was being unprofessional asking him if he was enjoying my "pregnancy boobs". I have my cosmetology license, I know what you should and shouldn't talk about. These people made me feel uncomfortable the entire time I was there, not to mention a crappy job on my nails. AWFUL SERVICE! DO NOT RECOMMEND !!! Called for an appointment coming all the way from Beaufort, SC (1.5 hours away) with my mom. We wanted pedicures and gel manicures and were told that it wasn't that busy so we wouldn't need to make an appointment. When we arrived, we were so excited to get our nails done because I had a hair appointment after, so it was going to be a pamper day. When we walked in, the lady who looked like she was in charge kind of just nodded us to the end chair to sit down. When we sat, nobody even turned the water on for us for about 5-10 minutes. Then, my water was cold and nobody was around to ask to help. When my mom finally flagged down a lady to make my water warmer, she turned on the burning hot water and just walked away, so the water ended up burning my feet. Then, my mom and I sat with our feet in the water for another 20 minutes at least and nobody even acknowledged that we were there. We finally decided that at that rate, we were going to be late to my hair appointment, so we got up and left. When the lady in charge saw us walking out all she said was "sorry 'bout that." in a very insincere way. My mom and I were so looking forward to a girls day together, and we were really disappointed at the awful service we received. Will not recommend this place to anyone and will not be back! I was a little skeptical at first when I walked in because the actual physical space did not seem to be nice/well-maintained as online pictures led on. I was also freaking out a little bit inside when the first spa chair leaked water all over the floor, and then when I moved to the next chair, the inside basin seemed not clean. I told the nail tech and she scrubbed it a little before I put my feet in but still. I am very happy though with how they did my nails, which is most important. It's been a week and my gel manicure still looks like when I first got it done. My pedicure was great and there is a nick mark, but that was my fault. I didn't like how when the credit card machine was broken I had to call in to another location, but it hasn't been a problem. Very very good service. The lady who took care of me was SOOO nice. I didn't get her name though. She was so funny. I got a pedicure and Solar. She did a very good job on both. My pedicure lasted months without any chips and my nails lasted about a month, would have lasted longer but my nails started growing out so I needed to take them off. But they did not chip or break at all. She took her time also but did it fast enough where I didn't have to wait long. They aren't allowed to talk to each other in Vietnamese, I over heard the manager tell one of them to stop speaking in the language. If they wanted to talk they have to speak to each other in English. I like that idea bc you don't feel uncomfortable as if they are talking about you, that's what everyone worries about when they go to nail salons right lol. Also, this place is walk in welcome and you do not have to was a long time they have a lot of employees ready to take you.....I went on a Saturday it was great. Will be my go to place. Read Less

Wish I had read the reviews before making an appointment.  Do NOT get your nails done here.We are in town on vacation and I wanted to treat my daughter.  When we arrived for the appointment (first appt of the day) we were welcomed and shown to our seats.  My daughter was getting a full nail set and I was getting a pedicure.  My technician was nice and polite.  However my daughter had a complete opposite experience.  The technician (don't know her name but younger girl) was rude and very short with my daughter. My daughter told her several times that she was hurting her finger to which the tech rolled her eyes.  She kept picking up her phone and texting while in the middle of doing her nails.  The tech also told my daughter (13) several times that she should get her eyebrows done.  When my daughter said No, the lady would laugh and a few minutes later told her she really needed to get them down.  This is completely unacceptable to make a 13 yr old girl feel bad/self conscious about her appearance.  The tech was also rushing on her nails for no reason.  No one else was in the shop but us.  Now my daughters nails are uneven, smudged and has black specs in the nail polish.  Complete waste of money...will have to get them redone next week at home. I walked in a was greeted by a nail tech doing her customer nails. I went to the back to pick out my polish and sat down,waited for a while to get service for a pedicure. The nail tech I had was awesome,but the nail tech next to her was unprofessional. I never felt so uncomfortable at a nail salon before. A decent pedicure for the price. We opted for the exfoliating salt scrub. The massage chairs are strong and were a big hit with many in our group who were tired from a long flight. They were not as thorough with the callous filing as some places but they charged $35 plus tip which was quite fair for the service. Only caution is that my sister's manicure was just so-so and the polish came out with bubbles. When she asked them to take it off they insisted on fixing it, which they tried to do with OK results but you could still see a bubble here and there. Read Less

I just moved to the area and wanted to find a go to place to get my nails done--- well this was DEFINITELY NOT the place. I wanted a relaxing time to get my nails done but had a horrible experience at Aqua Day Spa and Nails. I had an appointment at the end of the day and when I showed up, the nail techs were rude and not happy my appointment was the last one! Why would you let me schedule an appointment for that time if you will hate the customer for it?!Anyway, I was rushed by the nail tech to pick a color and when I did she sat me down and did the job as fast as she could. It was not a gentle, relaxing mani/pedi at all. The cuticle job was terrible and the nail polish was uneven and on top of the cuticles on some toes/fingers. When I commented and asked it to be fixed--- the nail tech would just smile and say sure but turn around and call me names to her colleagues in Vietnamese. Little did she know that I was Vietnamese. So the rest of the appointment I would listen to the nail techs talk bad about me, other customers and the esthetician (believe her name was Jessica -- who is not Vietnamese). These nail techs should really be more professional, respectful of their customers and provide a better service. At the end of the appointment, the nail tech mentioned in Vietnamese that I was probably not going to give her a tip. Boy, was she right! I did not even want to pay for the horrible service. The tech seemed a bit embarrassed when she saw my Vietnamese last name on my credit card. So glad it was my one and only experience here-- I would never come back. Read Less

just bad... if you're looking for a nail salon that talks in their native language and bad mouths you for not tipping you well enough, then this is the place for you. I did not tell them I am Vietnamese and the things said in this location was quite awful. As far as the pedicure, just horrible. That was the quickest pedi ever, 30 min tops and I chose the sea salt pedi, she kept shoving my feet back in the water or she would shove my feet into the position she wanted it in. My cuticles were poorly cut, chunks of cuticles that were jagged can still be seen. You can see three layers of thickly applied polish. It ran over onto my cuticles causing the polish to chip on the side. They don't care about you, they just want your money. It wasn't until she read my card, saw my last name and realized I was Vietnamese and could understand everything being said. Just pathetic. It's sad that this prime space is taken by an awful greedy nail salon. Read Less

I am here at least once a week. This place isn't just a regular salon, but a family. I love everyone here- Courtney, Cayla, Wendy, Lilly, and Rita are only a few of the amazing people you will come across during your visit. When I get acrylics here, they last longer than when I get acrylics done back at home in Washington DC. The gel color selection is amazing, as well as all their regular polishes (they have so many colors). They are so open to any creative ideas or designs for your nails you may have. It is always done PERFECTLY. They will treat you like a friend, not just a customer. Every time I come in, I leave happy- always a successful visit. Excellent place.We had an hot stone pedicure and it was definitely a good one.We had a relaxing and fun time.Very professional but also very entertaining environment.As soon as we sat on the massage chairs they offered to us drinks and it definitely make us feel spoiled a bit.really a good touch!we appreciate it a lot.Everybody was friendly and opened to gave us suggestions about the city and the night life.Good prices and definitely we'll going back to treat ourselves. I recently visited Charleston and was in need of an emergency gel mani in under 30 minutes...Aqua Nails came to my rescue!  They were able to fit me in and give me a speedy manicure that lasted three weeks!!I'm back in Charleston and sought this place out for a mani-pedi and again I've left completely satisfied!  If you need a spot for your bridal party or just need an emergency touch up during your visit to Charleston I highly recommend Aqua Nails.  They are fantastic!
