Anita and her team worked hard to get us whatever we wanted/needed and everyone left there feeling like a model! We are received so many compliments, everyone looked gorgeous! I've come here twice, both times for services to pretty up for the military ball. The first year I came in for a mani/pedi and then they talked me into makeup. This year I decided to do everything here (hair, makeup, mani/pedi). The first year my mani/pedi was nice and makeup was good, which is why I came back. Unfortunately this year things did not go so well.I gave myself 3 1/2 hours for all of my services, which I figured would be more than enough time. When I booked my appointments the woman had also assured me that would be more than enough time. I started with my pedicure which took almost an hour and fifteen minutes because the woman who was supposed to do it was still with another customer. Then when it came to the polish she said she wasn't very good at it and wanted to give me back to the woman that had started me. All I was getting was basic red polish. While my pedicure was going on there was another customer there getting a manicure. Her nail tech kept getting up every five minutes to use the bathroom because she was really hungover. She was there before me so I don't know how long her manicure actually took. Once we got through the pedicure I sat for my manicure. Which took almost an hour because she kept messing up on the polish and had to redo it. I had made the mistake of asking for a basic design so they started experimenting with different polishes and looks. They probably took polish off my nails at least 7-8 times. Finally the woman called over a different girl to do the design since she kept messing it up. Still wasn't that great. While my manicure was going on the owners daughter came in to drop off her infant to be babysat by the girls. At one point thy told a couple customers they had to wait for their services because someone needed to hold the baby until she daughter came back of someone else could hold her.I then moved to hair. I showed the girl a picture with an idea I had liked and she assured me she has done it many times before and it was super easy. I was willing to do something else if it was going to be difficult, I wasn't set on the style. She struggled to get my hair into a ponytail to start the updo. My hair is incredibly long and pin straight so sometimes its not the easiest to work with. After she had done a good majority of it I had the opportunity to see it and it was so far off from what I asked for. Like I said, I didn't need to have the style I showed her but this one was genuinely terrible. I would have been embarrassed to show up to a formal military event with this hair. After a second attempt and calling over a second person for help, she finally got frustrated and said she had another appointment coming in and that someone else would have to fix it. She was pissed. I get it. I basically told her I didn't like what she did. It's like telling an artist their work sucks. The owner attempted to fix it, but by that time I didn't care and I was already almost 3 1/2 hours in. I told her it was fine and we moved on.She brought me over to her makeup chair in a dark, poorly lit corner of the place where she started on my makeup. I just wanted something basic and quick, I'm never one for overly done. She gave me a glass of champagne on the house because she could see I was already flustered. She was doing my makeup a mile a minute and kept having me check the mirror to see what I thought. In a dark corner I looked great, plus having the sun in my eyes for the entire pedicure and hair portions still had me a little sun blind.I left there about 45 minutes late. As soon as I walked in back home my brother and my boyfriend just looked at me and then looked at each other. They were sure if they should take the honest approach or the tell-me-like-it-is approach on my makeup and hair situation. It wasn't until I got home and looked in the mirror that I realized I was orange. For a brief moment I had a meltdown and didn't want to go. Obviously I had to. As we were walking into the venue bobby pins were flying out of my hair and everything was falling out. I was so embarrassed. A friend of ours was trying to help me stick them back in during the cocktail hour.  The first time I came here I really enjoyed the idea of mani/pedis and cocktails. Perfect girls night in my opinion. However, after this last experience I would never go back for anything. Came here as part of a bridal party (there were 5 of us). It wasn't a bad experience, but it wasn't great either. Not sure if I would return, I wouldn't rule it out but also would likely not be my first choice.So here are the details: my first impression of the salon was that it didn't look very clean or welcoming. The color scheme is black and red - this is completely subjective, but these colors really don't speak to me. I think beauty salons should feel light, open and airy. Again - totally subjective - but that sort of turned me off right away. The "bar" looked sketchy. I have no idea if these women are trained bartenders or just pour drinks. It honestly looked like a home bar...a bunch of random brands of liquor that were half drunk. Also, there was only alcohol on the bottom shelf and the top shelves just seemed like wasted space. I did not order a drink, but two of my friends ordered mimosas. So - they were out of orange juice and made them with cranberry juice. Although the pink mimosas looked good - how do you run out of orange juice?The third issue with the appearance of the salon was that it looks cluttered. There are products all over the place. Also, there were items that belonged to the stylists like coffee cups and cigarettes on the bar and workstations. Seems like when you're working with clients you could keep that stuff more out of the way.I arrived early so I could get my eyebrows done before my hair. The waxer/stylist spent a few moments fiddling with the radio before she started working on me. It was a little weird. Also, she did not wash her hands before touching me and her hands smelled like cigarettes - gross. On the plus side, she really did do a good job on my eyebrows - they're "on fleek" as they say. For the hair - I asked for a French twist which doesn't seem to be that difficult of a style but the stylist couldn't do it. She said my hair was too long - I have never worked on hair so I don't know if this is true or she just wasn't able to execute it. So, no big deal, we picked another style from a photo on Pinterest. She also seemed to have trouble with that style so I just told her to do whatever so I could be done. She did an updo in the back that was nothing like what I pictured, but I did get several compliments on it and it looked okay. Since my hair is really thin I asked her to use a lot of hairspray so it would stay put - it did. My hair didn't move all day. While my hair wasn't exactly what I pictured, it did come out looking decent and I appreciated that the stylist was flexible enough that she was able to come up with an updo that she was comfortable with that still looked good. One of the other bridesmaids was not so happy and they had to re-do her hair, and another one of the girls didn't get the style she was looking for either but just went with it. Sidenote- the owner? seemed unprepared for the 5 of us - she was questioning which stylists would be able to work on us....even though we had made the appointment well in advance. The cost of my eyebrows and style was only $57....so I guess you get what you pay for. Overall - it was fine. I would be more enthusiastic about returning if it seemed like they were more organized and professional. It wasn't bad - but not amazing either. A solid 3 stars. Read Less

I went her with my girlfriend and I never experienced anything like this in my life. It was the worst. Not only did the tech cut 8 of my friends nails she had to have the owner come and try to finish. She wad no better. After big there over w hrs. She finally finished and it was a mess. I left without getting my nails done .The place as dirty and where they mix their cocktails they wad a bottle of cleaning fluids .I asked for a refund but have not received anything yet. I booked my wedding party for hair and makeup and was absolutely thrilled with everyone's individualized, yet coordinated looks, but most of all I loved my own hair and makeup. I have never felt more glamorous and beautiful. The staff took everyone's personal tastes and styles into consideration when doing put hair and makeup. Anita provided a delicious breakfast and cocktails for my girls, which was the perfect way to start off our morning! We were nourished and pampered and loved every minute of it! I received a gift card earlier this year and decided to get a gel mani today while shopping. I wish I hadn't. It took almost a full two hours to get the worst manicure I've ever had. The paint is streaked and all over my fingers (under and on the sides of my nail). One of the manicurists told me once I washed my hands good it would come off (?!) I should have just done it myself. The place also isn't the most attractive- it's cluttered with merchandise, decor and employee's belongings. It just have the appearance of being unclean.I did give one star bc the girl who did my nails was sweet and tried to fix my nails, but in the end it just seemed that I should leave and have them re-done somewhere else. She was either brand new or just uninterested. Because it wasn't my own money, I didn't sweat it but yikes... I wouldn't recommend and won't be returning. Read Less

Very nice place. Had some issues with accessing their website which the owner acknowledged and said they were in the process of working on. Anita, Rachel and Danielle were great and will definitely go back. On this visit I had a pedicure, gel manicure, and a shampoo and blow dry. My sister and I went to have a nice girls day for her birthday. We had an appointment but we were in the area about 20 mins early so we figured we could go in and poke around until the appointment. We were inside the salon/store for ten minutes before anyone acknowledged us aside from the odd glances as if they weren't used to customers? Then when we were told they couldn't possibly get us in before our appointment (which we didn't ask). When it came time for our appointment, two different women did our hair at different times taking twice as long and it came out horrible. My sister's blow out was flat and the ends looked awful. She might as well have towel dried her hair and called it a day. I informed my stylist that my hair is fine and doesn't hold a curl well, hoping she would have a product that would do he trick, she told me she would use a little hairspray at the end... as if using HAIRSPRAY never occurred to me. Services and prices weren't posted anywhere and it seemed like they made up he prices on the fly. We won't be recommending Retail Therapy Beauty Bar. Read Less

I was initially kind of confused by this place.... Is it a salon? Is it a store? Is it a restaurant? The answer is all of the above. I've been to Retail Therapy Beauty Bar three times now. Each time I went I had a different nail tech, and they all did wonderful jobs. The entire staff is very chatty and social - which is nice to see. A lot of the women that come in seem to be regulars, and I can definitely see why. On my last visit Tanya did my eyebrows (and boy, did they ever need some work!) and Danielle did my nails. Both did awesome jobs and gave me exactly what I asked for. Another interesting aspect about this place is you can request a specific nail tech when you call to make an appointment. Didn't like how Girl A did your nails one time, but love Girl B? You can schedule an appointment with Girl B right over the phone. Their location on Route 2 in Warwick is both a pro and a con. While there's plenty of parking and it's close to so many other things, the traffic  in that area is horrendous. Read Less

When there on two separate occasions. First time I went for a pedicure. I got the "dry martini pedicure." It was quick and a simple pedicure, and it came out great. The second time I went I got my hair styled and my make up done. Tanya did an amazing job with my hair. I showed her a picture of what I wanted done and she perfected it. Anita did my make up and did an outstanding job. I am always skeptical of getting my make up done because I don't like a drastic look and go for a more natural look. I highly recommend this place.Also you can order a drink from the bar while you are getting pampered. The drinks are reasonably priced. What's better than that? Read Less

Great first visit here yesterday for makeup and a blowout. Tonya somehow managed to blow my coarse, frizzy hair out so well that it didnt even frizz up in the rain and very strong winds! Anita is great w/ makeup, she listens to what the client wants and delivers beautifully. Oh, cant forget Missy- she squeezed me in for a quick eyebrow wax- no pain or redness!
