Having just moved to the area, I thought I might enjoy the convenience of a very close salon. Big mistake. I called in for an appointment and was told there was an immediate opening. I arrived perhaps 10 minutes later to find a walk-in customer had been given my appointment, but I could wait 20-30 minutes for an opening. I walked out and tried another salon near Brown. With pretty grim results, two weeks later, having unsuccessfully tried to make an appt at yet a 3rd salon, I ended up trying Regal again. This time, I made a same day appt then called just before coming in to insure I actually had an appt. My tech had not yet shown up for his shift, so I was told to come in for another tech, Jimmy.Jimmy did not understand my question about what we call on the west coast, solar powder, insisting all acrylic is the same. It isn't, but I went with the flow. My own nails are paper thin, so the dremmel filing has to be done with caution. I always explain this and rarely have an issue. The third "burn" I was getting fed up and he was clearly getting nervous, but we made it through. The application of the acrylic was reasonable though I told him my nails are prone to cracking at the outer corners where it often grows out thin. (My tech back home would usually apply a tiny bit to each corner, insuring a lasting result.) He countered that the corner edges were fine. I always have my acrylics sealed with a layer of gel instead of polish. It lasts longer and dries in 3min under UV lights. Again, he didn't understand what I was asking for, saying no one does this here and it takes too long, is too expensive, etc. I felt sure he was misunderstanding this simple and efficient system. After very painstakingly describing the nail-polish like bottle and process, he finally understood and complied, though I ended up with a couple bubbly and rippled nails.Upon final inspection, I saw that the application of the acrylic did not extend all the way to the side edges of a few nails. When I mentioned this, he disagreed with me. When I turned on the overhead light, which he had never used, and showed him how I could bend the natural nail away from the acrylic, because it was bare, and asked at least to have some nail glue, he struggled to figure out how to get the glue into the correct spot, ultimately trying to use the clippers to manipulate the nail. After being poked twice in the end of my finger, I told him he was hurting me with the point of the clippers. Last straw, he said, "no I'm not."Seriously? I know that a nail salon inside WalMart should have been warning enough... Lesson learned. Read Less
