While I normally never post reviews, I saw the great reviews for J&J, and definitely wanted to stop in. After making an appointment, I showed up right on time to find that they had taken another customer in my place, assuming she was me. After working in retail and customer service, I'm extremely understanding, and know that mistakes like that can happen. I sat there, however, waiting for the next available nail tech for forty minutes. Finally, the receptionist took pity on me, and started removing my polish using the electric nail file. In the process, he completely tore apart my cuticles, I don't know whether from rushing or just inexperience. Eventually, I was moved over to a nail tech, who actually did a wonderful job finishing up my nails (I think his name was Andy?). By this point, it was almost closing time, and all the other employees were cleaning up. Andy took his time, however, and even gave me an extra coat to make sure I had a top-notch manicure. I really appreciated his attention to detail and that he refused to rush through, even though it was near close. Another tech--Steve, I think--kept me thoroughly entertained with conversation and jokes while he cleaned the floors around me. While I really appreciated Andy and Steve's efforts, I remain extremely dissatisfied with the salon, and will not be returning, especially after finding out that I was charged FORTY DOLLARS for a fill-in of my acrylics, even after the long waiting time (despite calling ahead for an appointment) and butchered cuticles.
