I got a gel manicure here on a Sunday afternoon. Overall, it was a pleasant experience and I loved dipping my hands in paraffin wax and the one minute massage at the end of my manicure. My only critique is that they do not put your hand in water to soften up your cuticles before cutting them. They cut the cuticles while your hands are dry and I think this makes it more difficult to cut them, and also increased the risk of me being cut. Also, I was a little skeptical about whether or not the utensils being used were properly cleaned. The buffer they used on me had obviously been used on other customers. Otherwise, the young man that was doing my nails was very polite and kept making sure that everything was okay with how he was shaping my nails, to the number of coats of nail polish I wanted. Kelly applied a full set today and they look beautiful! Best job- so smooth, she did everything exactly as I asked, everything was flawless. Great neck massage and paraffin dip. Pedicure was great - best massage. She did my daughter's nails too. She was so patient and accommodating. Horrible went there this morning. I sat with Kelly the first chair when you walk in. She lost control of the electronic thing and chipped my nail and told me she will have to charge me five dollars to fix it. I've been here before and never had a problem. It's usually a great experience. This time I had "Becky", and she was so rude. She tried to do my cuticles with the electric file and when I told her to use the manual cuticle clippers, she changed her attitude. The remainder of the manicure was rushed, rough, and full of attitude. I went to tip her after and she grabbed the cash out of my hand and walked away without a word. The prices on their website are not the same in the salon. Everything is done by a stop watch. There are stop watches through out the salon. My nail technician was proud that she completed my pedicure in 5 minutes. Yes 5 minutes. I was there for 15 minutes and that included drying time. Worse pedicure I've ever had. I hate to leave a bad review, but I came out of here pissed. I usually loveeee this place. Every time I had to get my nails and feet done, I looked forward to coming here. However, today was the worst. I had the worst gel pedicure experience with a young woman there; didn't catch her name, but she had a tattoo behind her right ear. I sat down after I chose my color and she came over and started working on my feet; I'm not a big baby, but she was a little rough on them, I thought I could just get through it. But then, she asked if I would like to cut and file them down; I said no thank you (they were short enough) and she goes "DO YOU WANT CUT OR FILE" in a much more stern voice; I stared at her for a sec, trying to keep not snap after a hard day, and politely said "oh just file them in a square shape." Then, she proceeds to roughly work on my feet, files my nails DOWN AND ROUND SHAPE and mind you, the water had still not been turned on (isn't that what you're suppose to do first?). As she finished with all the filing, she proceeded to paint my gel polish on my dusty feet. I wish I could've spoke up, because everyone else had gotten their feet soaked and cleaned in the water prior to getting polished. She did my pedicure the opposite. She THEN turned on the water TO A BURNING HOT and stuck my foot in. I hesitated when My foot burned and she didn't fix it. I suffered through it and the half-ass pedicure that lasted 8 min. I kept track. I unfortunately paid $52 for bullshit and now my toe nails are hideous. I loved this place; everyone is so nice, but unfortunately, she ruined it for me. Read Less

Best manicure I've ever received! My nails came out so nice, and I got my hands dipped in hot paraffin wax & a hot towel back massage. My pedicure was amazing, they use a timer to show you that your getting a foot massage for 10 minutes. I could fall asleep in both the pedicure and manicure chairs. They work quickly, the salon is clean and doesn't have a strong acetone order like other places. The color selection is amazing & they paint a fake nail so you know what the colors actually look like it takes the guess work out! Read Less

This salon doesn't even deserve a half of a star, they are worst. My sister in law went here, and they did an awful awful job, I kid you not her nails were crooked. She was so upset by the service she told them not to even put nail polish on, she did complain and they still charge her $75 for the nail!!! She even ask to speak to the owner and even he was a jerk, and yelled and threaten to call the cops.. This salon is nothing but scammers and have such bad customer services. Read Less

I think this place is great. I've been here a number of times. They do a good thorough job. Not giving 5 stars because it's a bit pricey. They have always been able to take me quickly. Once I wanted to get acrylic nails- and the nail tech told me that I was better off getting a gel manicure- I appreciate the honesty. still on the hunt for that super affordable place that does a great job. I went to Happy Nails today for the first time while I'm visiting Rhode Island. Amy did my full acrylic set and she was absolutely amazing! Not only was she incredibly nice, she took her time and made sure my nails were perfect.This salon in general is a really clean, peaceful and nice salon. It is not as cheap as other places but you get what you pay for. Not only do my nails look better than they ever have, but I got a massage and a hand treatment and it was great!Only complaint I could possibly have is the woman towards the front was a little rude when we told her what we were getting done today and seemed very impatient. I enjoy the hot stone massage so immensely as well as the callus eliminator gel (both included in the $45 happy spa pedicure) that the painting of my toenails is practically irrelevant. I also like the decor, it is clean and pretty much everything looks cared for and new. I brought a first timer here for pedicure today and they enjoyed the experience. Happy Nails has been my go-to nail salon for years! I discovered this place back in high school and am still willing to drive 45 minutes from URI to get a manicure from here. I normally get acrylics with a gel manicure and it lasts longer than any other salon! I have gone to so many other places and normally my manicure starts peeling and lifting (which causes me to get my hair caught in my nails when I run my hands through my hair- very painful!), but from Happy Nails, I never have this issue!They are extremely clean, reasonably priced, and usually have no wait, though I tend to go at off times. After you finish getting your service, the staff will give you dip your hands in wax and cover them with a hot towel. They will the proceed to take a second hot towel and give you a complimentary 2-3 minute massage. It is such a relaxing way to end your time there, and I am so glad I found this place! Very unhappy. I got the 45.00 pedicure. I had to tell the girl she left blobs of lotion on the back of my legs. I had to clean it off myself. I noticed that she didn't take off all the dead skin. I could see it. So I told her. She picked some of it off. When I got home I looked at the bottom of my feet. They were smooth but the edge of my toes had all dead skin. I recently moved and relied on yelp to find the closest nail salon to my new abode and boy am I thrilled that Happy Nails was the first on my list. I had the best manicure I have ever had, and I can be a tough gal to please in this department. Without an appointment (on a Thursday night) I was greeted and told to sit on the bench. After a quick five minutes (at which time I noticed the CLEAN hardwood floors)  I was seated in a plush leather chair and welcomed with a bottle of Poland spring. At first I thought, are they going to charge me for this, but no they didn't. While I was getting my gel manicure, I noticed how many people around me had gotten paraffin wax on their hands. The woman sitting next to me shared that Happy Nails was her go to spot for a manicure. Anyway, my girl Kelly hooked it up, and was incredibly meticulous (which I loved). Toward the end of my mani I washed my hands and Kelly dipped them into a paraffin wax. I thought id be charged extra for this, but not at Happy Nails. You see every manicure comes with a FREE Paraffin!  Oh and the best part, is I received the best towel massage on my back AND my hands lasting a whole 4-5 minutes, and yes, that was free too. All in all, amazing experience, great quality, and even better price. $30 for a gel mani, water bottle, paraffin wax, back massage, and hand massage. Not so happy nails.I went to Happy Nails & Spa to get a basic manicure and pedicure for a wedding that I was in. At first, the woman that was doing my nails seemed very friendly and patient. She helped match the nail color to the color of my bridesmaid dress. As soon as a rush of people walked in, she completely stopped caring about me and just carelessly rushed. I noticed that every one else getting a pedicure received foam flip flops when their pedicure was done except for me. The woman placed my patent leather flip flops on after she just put a ton of lotion on my feet causing me to almost slip right out of my shoes and hurt myself. It was certainly a struggle to walk around the room.After my manicure was finished I asked her to repaint one finger because the nail polish moved and she gave me an absolute look of disgust then proceeded to hiss at me like a child! She was extremely rude. I noticed when my nails were drying that she got nail polish all around my nails and toenails onto my skin!! She also barely painted the sides of my nails. I was devastated, especially because my best friend's wedding was the next day! When I called the manager to complain, he insisted that the polish all over my toes was due to MY error when I previously painted them because I came in with older painted toes. I couldn't believe he had the nerve to say that. I will attach pictures so everyone can be the judge of that, the nail polish on my toes is the SAME nail polish that she painted the nails with.
