I do not recommend this place I asked for a discount due to the fact it was my birthday.The manager agreed, I sat down for a pedicure when the gal realized I was getting a discount she threw a sign down and walked away from me refusing to work on me. Another girl came proceeded to move forward with a pedicure pounding the inside of my calf then when it came time to work on my manicure I told her not to cut my cuticles she proceeded to cut them anyway. By far the best nail salon in the area, I drive to Newport just for this place! Peter and John give the best pedicures... The ladies are all wonderful too. Let’s talk about how amazing the pedicures are, truly worth every penny! Hot stones! And 20 minute massages.. get one once a month as a treat to myself and have gotten my sisters hooked! I came here on a whim, and I'm glad I did. I got a lavender and hot stone pedicure as well as a basic gel manicure. The store was very clean and the service was fantastic. I felt very relaxed throughout the mani and pedi. During the mani while the gel paint was drying, my technician even gave a five minute shoulder massage. It was a great experience. I wish I could say this place delivered a great experience every time but unfortunately they don't. I have been numerous times and only received great service twice. There are only a few nice technicians there. I call ahead for a certain nail technician and make an appointment and never get who I asked for.. It's literally a different technician every time I go who is in a rush. I always get a gel manicure and they attempt to change the price on me every time. I have had many gel manicures crack or come off the next day so I go back in with a receipt and ask them to please fix it or at least give me a discount and they are very rude and try to charge the full price again! Will not return. This nail salon seems dirty and unsanitary. The girl who did my nails was in a huge rush even though there was no one there. she cut me multiple times and painted over my blood.... therefore leaving me with a terrible polish job. I did a light pink and she clearly saw the blood and just did not care. walked in wanting to get my nails done yellow... she tried convincing me to get french tip when i didn't want that (which costed more money) ..got an acrylic set on and all 10 nails are different sizes. when i noticed my nails not matching each other i told her and she just continued to paint them instead of fixing them. not impressed Read Less

The girl who took her time on my toes even spent time massing my shoulders and neck while my toes dried. I wish I knew about this place in the beginning of summer. I would definitely be a regular. I stopped in last night with my daughter - we both had the blueberry spa pedicure, came with callus remover, a 20 min foot massage, paraffin wax heel treatment, hot stones, warm booties, clay mask treatment...WONDERFUL! Also, before we left Alice asked me if I wanted my nails done too - so I wouldn't have to go back the next day (today) - Yes, I took her up on that too...BTW, the store was closed, and she even took in two more customers before I left! This is by far the best pedicure i have received. It doesnt look any different from most small mani-pedi salons but the service was spectacular. I received close attention to my nails, rough heels and a great calf message. I was surprised to also receive  a warm upper back massage as my toenail polish dried. Have been using this place for a few years and have always been happy.  Have gone the last few times with my daughter and the service was awful.  Rushed, chaotic, very poorly done manicures.  Gave them a few chances and now we will be going elsewhere.  Someone is letting the service go way downhill and it shows. So I have been coming here to "Christine" for quite a while now and I love her! Unfortunately she has gone elsewhere to work for the winter so I've had to try out a few new people, two of whom were excellent! Last night...not so good. I got a young guy which was fine but the pedicure and manicure were beyond bad! My right big toe looks like I chipped the nail and the polish on the left one is a disaster. Forget the feet, let's talk about my poor hands. He managed to make two of my fingers bleed by ripping out my skin. One wouldn't stop bleeding and they both sting like mad today!!! The manicure itself looks terrible as well. It's gel and already chipped after one day! It's also been pretty dirty in there lately. They appear to pretend to clean their tools and sometimes the towels don't seem clean. They need to get their act back together. It's a shame, I really liked it there!!! Read Less

I guess one star will have to do since there does not seem to be an option for no stars. Went in for a simple fill and to have a few nails replaced left with my nails half done because the guy working didn't understand English and refused to make my nails shorter. I had acrylic everywhere caked in my cuticles and all of her my fingers. They charged me for a whole set even though they did a f***ed up fill and didn't even finish the work. The worst nail shop I've ever been to. I've literally been waiting a whole hour while one person is doing nails and three workers are sitting at the nail tables. I'm from the Aveda institute Jacksonville location and we're all customer service. I'm a visiting family member to Newport and would never come here ever again. Even after being at some very terrible shops in Jacksonville this was the worst by far! Never done a Yelp review before but this pushed me to do one. Don't come here! Read Less

This place is unsanitary and I'm surprised they haven't been shut down yet. They don't use a fresh nail tool kit for every customer which is disgusting and could potentially be spreading disease. My experience was rushed and subpar to say the least. I was overcharged and my manicure was so sloppy I considered going to another place and having them fix it. I have given this place several chances but each experience has gotten worse than the last. I would not recommend going to this place. DIY or go somewhere else but this place is a joke. Read Less

Honestly the best gel tips ive ever had. Every time I get them they chip or fall off within a week from different salons. I'm going almost a month strong and they still look amazing! Ask for Alice she's so sweet and nice and really takes her time to make your nails looks beautiful. Totally worth the 24 dollars. Read Less

Terrible and dirty. I just moved here and have been looking for a decent nail salon. This is the second one I have tried and no Bueno. I have to go to New York if I want a decent mani/pedi. Today I decided I wanted to remove my acrylics to let my nails breath for awhile before getting a new set. So I went in and asked if they could remove them. My salon in New York usually pops them off within 5 minutes. No. This place made me soak my nails until all the acrylic came off and left me sitting there for almost an hour. I started filing off the acrylic myself before someone finally came over to help me. It should have been a red flag when the guy used a wash cloth on the table to clean the dust off my hands after grinding the gel off that He then took the SAME washcloth and wiped off some ladys feet who was getting a pedi. So. Fucking. Gross. At this point I'm super pissed that I've been sitting there for so long I again start filing my own nails and the lady doing a clients nails next to me grabs me and starts filing my nails. Roughly. Like I annoyed her. Finally all the acrylic is off and i wash my hands and go to leave bc in New York they don't charge me to remove them and these ppl want $10 plus a tip. For something I pretty much did myself. I paid. Left no tip. And am never going back. Read Less

This place is suitable if you have no other alternatives. I could have paid myself for the effort considering I had to instruct the young man on how to clean my toenail cuticle. He proceeded to address my needs but I had to mention things to him quite a few times. The attempt was fair but execution poor. I would not recommend this spa if other alternatives are available. I have been a customer here for a long time and have always enjoyed my experience. The spa pedicures are very relaxing, with foot/calf massages to die for. The manicures are so carefully and beautifully done. I have gone in on several occasions to get a broken nail fixed and have never been disappointed by their ability to fix the nail. The massages, either chair or table, are of good quality for the price. Overall one of my very favorite nail salons. Read Less

This nail salon was terrible! I spent 60 on solar nails and I broke 3 nails a few days later. I went back and got a balance and two broke two days later. The staff is extremely rude and the massages are painful. Never going back again Read Less

Not sure why they have so many bad reviews, I really do enjoy this place. I come here once a month to get my eyebrows waxed and they always do such an excellent job, I've become dependent on them! They take their time doing what they do, whether it's a gel mani, pedicure, massage or anything so you feel taken care of and pampered. Really enjoyed it! Got a gel manicure for only $24 and it looks very clean, polished and cute. They are from out of the country so communication might be a little hard here and there but that is totally fine and understandable, nothing that makes the service bad. They had a super plus that really made me like the place... COMPLIMENTARY BACK MASSAGE! Oh boy was that good! As soon as the lady finished my nails, she gave me a much needed and very precise and amazing warm back massage, and the hand massage was also very relaxing. It was so good I was more than glad to give her a good tip. It made me get out of there wanting to come back again. Won't be back. Asked for a mani, pedi, and eye brow wax. Had Vi as my technician. Spoke English well until I tried to ask her a question about the pricing. Tried to talk me into deluxe pedicures and spa packages. Pressured me into getting a callus remover. Pedicure was ok. Manicure was quick and not good. Forgot about my eyebrow wax, then when I mentioned it, took someone who just walked in and not me. I didn't have time to wait around. Vi tried to trick me into a massage, even though I never asked for one. Nails chipped within 2 hours of getting them done. Defintely stay away!!!! Read Less
