My daughter & I stopped in right when they opened on Monday at 10:00, she had a gel manicure done there a couple of weeks back but needed to have it removed for a dance show.  Upon arrival, the gentleman put my daughter's hands in a bowl of acetone to soak the nail polish off (I have never been to a salon where they soak your hands in acetone, is that even safe?) then he left her to soak for 20 MINUTES while tending to someone else, finally I said "Her hands are starting to burn are you going to tend to her?" He replies with "I have two employees that are late" A few moments later an elderly gentlemen & elderly woman come in, he instructs the elderly gentleman to wrap my daughters nails with acetone & foil, which was like instructing a toddler to do nails, it took him at least another 15 MINUTES just to wrap her nails, he was so awkward, clearly not an adequately trained manicurist by any means!!  So now we are at 35 minutes and still do not have her nail polish removed!!??  After having the foil sit for another 5 minutes the younger gentleman begins scraping the polish off, by the time he is done, we had been there for 47 MINUTES!!  A process that usually takes less than 10 minutes at other salons.1.  Don't leave someone soaking in acetone and unattended like that!  He should have just told us to come back later! Weirdest part is he never even apologized for the ridiculous amount of time it took just to remove the nail polish! 2. That elderly gentleman should not be doing nails, he clearly is NOT properly trained!  3. This isn't the first time we've been there and the employees are either late or distracted with phone calls about family issues. No one wants to hear about the manicurist's son needing a ride home from school, or employees constantly being late or blah blah blah. Most people getting manicures & pedicures are there to relax, this is why I didn't complain in the salon, in respect to the two woman getting services done.  Between all the family drama, employees constantly talking on the phone and the blaring tv, this is most definitely not a relaxing place!!  We will not be returning!! This was my nail salon of choice when I'm down by the beach. Each time I have a great experience. My pedicure was relaxing and included a memorable foot massage. The salon is clean and the staff are personable and excellent at their job. Lots of color options. They are conveniently located on the way to the beach so call ahead in the summer but they do take walk Ins. Prices are also very reasonable. I'll be back! Read Less

Overall I was pleased with the pedicure I received from the older woman who runs the place. Ann I think her name was. She was very friendly and accommodating with my last minute walk in. She made sure I liked the length of my nails and the polish. I'd definitely come here again. This family has been in the business for 16 years and deserve the business from the local community. I got the worst gel manicure ever! A 5 year old kid could have done a better job than the lady who did my manicure.1- The polish was applied uneven.2- It started peeling off on day three!3- The polish was not only uneven but it had an streaky finish.4- The gel polishes were not high quality.5- The lady who did my nails had a bad attitude.6- She even trimmed and shaped my nails in a very sloppy and unprofessional way.The gel manicure was cheap ($25) but I hated it the minute she put the first coat on! I will never go back to this place. The overall feeling of this nail place was anything but relaxing.Save your time and money! Absolutely the worst mani/pedi I have ever had!I called in the morning to make an appointment. I asked for 6  pm and they asked if I could come in at 5:30 to allow enough time for the mani/pedi as they closed at 7. I arrived at 5:15. I was told they would be right with me and after picking a color I was directed to a pedicure chair where I soaked and waited for 45 minutes! I received a few "just a few minutes" while soaking. When the man finally came to do the pedi @ 6 pm he commented that my nails were very soft to which I responded that they were soaking for a long time!. He did both the mani/pedi in 1/2 hour! He was out of the store by 6:30 while I still dried. I did get a apology from someone who explained that they got busy. WHy take reservations if you do not honor them?I also object to big screen tv's in salons that cater to women that blast sporting events. Obviously the preference of male employees not the customers. If I want to watch ESPN I will go to a bar not a nail salon!Terrible experience, DON'T go there! Read Less

I had a very sloppy french mani/pedi here. The shape was awful, the white line was uneven and way too thick. I even asked the women to give the line more of a curve and she didn't. The gel polish was bumpy and you could see thru the white part on some nails. The only reason I am giving them 2 stars is that they refunded my money. I would never go back again but at least I got the refund to go pay for my nails to get fixed elsewhere. Read Less

They used to do a great job here. I dont know what happened? Maybe they got too busy for their own good? I went in for a 3pm pedi, and had, I swear, 3 different people do my pedicure! Which is not a good thing mind you, cause they didnt know where the last person left off. I was just really looking forward to soaking my feet and relaxing, not wondering who was going to be touching my feet next. I used to love this place. It makes me sad. VIP is the best of the best for walk in nail salons (they also take appointments and I recommend that in the summer!!) They have a loyal staff that is consitent and always there...no new faces every week like some other places. What I like best is they have a great polish selection, a nice flat screen, tons of up to date magazines and of course new sterilized tools for every customer. No mystery liqued cleaning tools here...nope they open a new bag for you and only you. 100% top notch place. Read Less

They filed my nails crooked and jagged and then started to apply polish. I had to stop them and refile myself. Average to expensive cost $17 for french mancure with only one coat. Very fume filled with no ventilation. Read Less
