I went for the grand opening in the middle of the week on a Wednesday. The place is beautiful but i was greeted told to pick a polish and take a seat someone would be with me shortly. I was the ONLY CUSTOMER waiting for service. After being very patient for 45 minutes and seeing 2 customers come in after me and get serviced immediately i initially thought to myself perhaps these women had scheduled appointments. I asked the receptionist and he said I DON'T KNOW, IM NOT SURE, I GUESS SO.I Immediately let him know how dissatisfied i was with his response and felt disrespected and ignored. When I called to set up an appointment I asked for a full set . So when I got there the man that took me thought I was doing a manicure. I didn’t realize that he was doing until after he just cut a little of my cuticles . I told him no I wanted a full set. all he did was cut the skin around my nails. He got mad and told me to pay for it . I told him no that it wasn’t my fault I asked for a full set when I called . He wanted to charge me 5 $ on top of my full set . I said no and he became angry and told me I guess the owner was going to eat the cost . So he continues my nails and he’s banging everything and I asked if he was angry with me and he goes no I just want to get this over with . And I just looked at him . He goes you seem educated do you know the difference between a manicure and a full set , and honestly I don’t get manicures or acrylics that often and a pervious salon I’ve been to did the same with cutting the cuticles . I was really offended . As he doing my nails I noticed that they were uneven and when he painted them they had a line in them . I asked him to fixed them and I would say sorry for bothering him . This is the 5th time i have been to the salon, I normally see Victor he's normally does good with my coffin shaped nails, I got asked to pay for the first time before my service was complete today. I was the only black person in the salon this morning, also the white chick that works there knows NOTHING ABOUT CUSTOMER SERVICE, EXTREMELY RUDE, DOESN'T KNOW HOW TO WAS, SHE WAXED MY CHEEK WHERE there wasn't any hair 😂😂😂, and now i have hives there. So I won't be going back and I didn't tip. Also I got a pedicure here a couple days ago from the dude with the long hair, he was nice but he didn't listen to how I wanted my feet. So if your not an established customer stay away from this place, it's very cliquish and that white girl has no customer service. So I will definitely be going else where. Read Less

I have been going to Kim's for well over a year now. Tam is an AMAZING nail artist! No matter what design I bring in, she nails it every time :-) What she is able to create on nails is truly exceptional! She is always friendly and professional. The only complaint I have is the shape of my nails. I am very picky about the shape though and have never found anyone who does them exactly like I want (not that it's a complicated shape - so I don't understand why!) . Was the worst nail experience ever. Didn't get what I asked for. I asked multiple times while I was there. The lady didn't understand what I was asking for. All I wanted was shorter nails. Thought they looked fine but the next two days after, my nails are back to being just as long as when I went in. They wouldn't do anything for me while I was there and they still won't do anything. I've called and asked for a refund and the woman hung up on me. I'm never going back and I wouldn't reccomend them to anyone, that at all! Read Less

Firstly let me say I wasn't going to leave this review because I wasn't able to get back to the shop to make them aware Of my dissatisfaction and allow them to remedy the situation but my nails are just horrible and pedicure not too much better. This is the fourth nail salon I've tried since I moved to York last year. I liked a lot of their pics so I decided to try them out. I'm unable to get my nails done as frequently as I like because of my hectic schedule so i really need a good place to call home. First, when I walked in it was definitely not the typical atmosphere I'm used to. It's more of a 'neighborhood' type place. I wasn't greeted - there wasn't a sign in sheet so I just set myself, I'm hoping it was because everyone was busy (although no excuse not to greet a client). I waited about 10 minutes before someone acknowledged me. After a few minutes the person that was to be my technician asked me to pick my color and proceed to the back. Fast forward to the process,  it was enjoyable and I can't complain about that. BUT during the application of the gel polish to my nails I don't know if there was polish on my hands or not but I had to keep removing my hands from the UV light because they were burning. Then after just 3 days 2 nails chipped down into the nail bed. After less than a week the gel polish started peeling. Because of my line of work I don't expect my nails to last the full 3 weeks but I've never had them last not even 1. And I just realized  one of my nails was filed crooked. I also was never asked what shape I like. also, I only requested gel polish NOT a manicure with gel polish but I was given a mani anyway although it was clear I didn't need one and of course charged for it. Overall I'm sure there are better technicians than the one I had but in an establishment if an employee is not ready to do all services then they should not be allowed to. So needless to say I won't be returning and my quest for a good nail salon is ongoing. Read Less

The professionalism, the customer service and the outright skills that Tam, Sky and the whole crew posses, have me driving an hr every 2 wks to see them! Quality is hard to come by these days! 1. BAD customer service!! 2. UNCOMFORTABLE vibe. I went with a friend and we both said the same thing, even though she goes here regularly. 3. They charge extra for EVERYTHING, literally. She told me AFTER she cut my nails (coffin) it was an extra $3, never heard that and always get my nails cut like this and $5 for matte top coat, it cost the same. For the price I paid here For a full set and regular paint I can go to Star nails and get a full set with gel paint and much better customer service!! 4. VERY sloppy and quick with how they do your nail. Its almost like they rushed to get us out so they could go home. The lady cut my friends nails and well it was too late! Stay far away from this place. I was going here pretty routinely because I WAS liking the way my nails looked upon leaving. However, I will never go here again. The woman that was doing my nails kept telling me to RELAX RELAX RELAX, but it was hard to because she was hurting me! It wasn't until she looked up at me shocked and said IM SO SORRY until I looked down and saw my finger was bleeding PROFUSELY ! She was using the emory board and it had sawed away at  my flesh. She got a paper towel and applied pressure but the bleeding continued. I attempted to take a picture of the bloody paper towels but she caught me and quickly swiped them up and threw them away. She did apologize and removed $2 from my bill but she should have listened to me and saw I was in discomfort. I just imagine if people with HIV/AIDS or other blood disorders, (and those without) were to bleed like that...and of course she did not discard the tools, brush, board, etc she used...and she keptt applying glue to my wound - so that the tip came in contact with the blood..that also was not discarded. Worst part for four years went there every two weeks for my eyebrows. A new girl started she half of my eye brow was gone! My mom is staying with me for a couple of days and wanted her eye brow done took her to Kim nails the same new girl was about to do my moms! I asked for my Usual person that does my eyebrows she told me no I will do it I told her, sorry but the last time I came he u took half my eye brow off!
