My sister and I came here to get our nails done the other day and we were seated immediately. I like my acrylic nails thick because usually I break them pretty easily. So I asked the nail technician to add a second layer of acrylic and she was hesitant but did. She later shaved most of the acrylic off and the nails were very brittle and when getting into my car I broke my nail. I got the broken nail redone. I told the manager that I was not happy with my service and he proposed that I could return the next day and they would redo my nails for free. I'm writing this review for my mother. She has gone there about 5 or 6 times. I found them while in town getting my car inspected. She was very excited at first when she first went, and this is were the story begins. She is thrown around to different people, all coming over and working on her nails for a few minutes, and then leaving, and then someone else to take over. The people who work here are very rude, all they care to say to you is" What Color NUMBER" and then no conversations, and they all speak vietnamese. We love all people so that's not an issue at all, but most of them do speak perfect english, just chose not to so that no-one can understand what they are saying. I feel this is very rude, and quite inappropriate. All they seem to care about is overcharging their customers for a nice looking place. They actually said to my mother midway through having her nails done, you know this cost is $50.00, as if to say can you afford to pay for what you just ordered. Unbelievable! My mother was about to stand up and walk out and leave the store with her nails unfinished. She was so insulted by the way they spoke to her. Awful customer service, and borderline rude. American Nail Salon. Please consider being kinder, and speaking english to your customers. How would you like if you lived in Vietnam, and went to a business where they only spoke in another language that you did not understand, you would feel the exact same way as your customers do at your Salon in West Chester, PA. Worst experience ever. I just spent $40 on SNS nails to not walk out with SNS. They gave me the "right color" but it was too dark and they said the color of the preview was just faded. How was I supposed to know that? So when she took it off and started over she put a regular gel over my half taken off SNS. Second time here with a terrible experience. Never going back! Read Less

I went to get a gel polish change and a broken nail fix. Literally minutes after I walk out my nail breaks again and my GEL POLISH scrapes off when I open the door to get in my car. I usually recommend American Nails to everyone. However, after my experience today I’ll be finding another nail salon. I was told I was ready for my pedicure so they told me to go back to the chair. Sat there for about 35/45 minutes with no water running, no one saying I’ll be right with you, etc. Then I got up to tell the employee and they said “we’re busy and you just have to wait for your turn”. I’m sorry I understand your busy and stressed but that shouldn’t be taken out on a paying customer. I received no apology and left without a pedicure. Read Less

Very pretty inside and also clean. The staff is always warm and welcoming. I always get a standard pedicure when I come here and they always do an effective job. There were a few spots she did not wipe away excess polish from, but it's not a big deal as that'll come off with a shower. Read Less

I have been going to American Nails for over 15 years and I wouldn't think about going anywhere else. They are absoulety wonderful. Great manicures, refills, pedicures, waxing and designs. I had an appointment today for a mani pedi at another salon. When I got there, they told me their nail tech no longer worked there and recommended American Nails. I walked in at 3:45 on a Friday afternoon and they were welcoming and took me almost immediately. They were helpful and friendly and did an amazing job. My nails are perfect. I don't know if I've ever had better. AND it was much less $ than I expected. I would have happily paid more for this experience. Read Less

I was just there literally 5 minutes ago. When I walk in a few different techs looked at me but no one asked what I needed done, no hello or anything. I waited about 10 minutes and when someone came in after me and was greeted and asked what they were there for I got up and left. This is not the first time this has happened so I should've learned my lesson. Not to mention there's an obvious difference in how they treat customers of color. Went here tonight for a regular manicure and pedicure.  Very nice atmosphere, and the spa chairs are great.  I got there at about 6:15pm and even though they were quite busy, I only waited about 15 minutes.  Even though they closed at 7pm, they did not rush through my nails, and didn't seem to rush anyone else out.  Price was very reasonable ($40), and the only reason I didn't give five stars is that their prices aren't posted. Men that work here are rude, condescending and consistently have done what they want - not what I have asked for regarding my nails. Asked for flat top with slight rounded edge, got completely round. Even showed a photo, when I explained to " Tom " that he wasn't doing what I wanted, he started yelling in Vietnamese to another worker in the back. Went here today as it is closer than my regular place today. Atmosphere is nice. They have expanded this location. Great pedicure chairs. My pedicure was quick and turned out great. I went for a French mani with gel. A different person did the white free hand. This was not his first day. They look awesome! Only minor items for thought. I have never figured out why they put each person directly next to another person in the pedicure chairs. I completely understand if they are busy however there we only two of us and they put us right next to each other. They are not alone in this, most places I go do this but I still do not know why. Second thing, also not uncommon, the screaming/loud speaking between employees from the front of the salon to rear pedicure area. Overall really nice place! Pricing is reasonable. I went here 2 days ago. I set up an appointment and was seated as soon as i walked in. They were busy. After i picked my color they soaked my nails to remove the gel. I sat there for probably 20mins while my nail tech did someone else's nails who came in AFTER me. Someone else came over and scraped part of my gel off WITH THEIR OWN FINGER NAIL. Then left me soaking my nails for another 20mins before a different person came over. She then also began scraping my gel off with her own finger nail. Overall, my nails look great except for my middle finger nail on one hand is wider than the other. Then i was charged more money than they told me i would be charged over the phone. I only put one star because zero stars wasn't an option. I initially started going to this place because of how close this salon is located to my house. Its a walk to my house. As of today, I have been there several times. I always got a weird vibe when I went there. I didn't want to assume it was because I am black. I didn't want to jump to conclusions. I tried to be extra polite and respectful and tipped really well every single time I went. It made no difference. I also observed that the white clientele got treated much much better than I did. I think its safe to say that there is a culture of racism to people of color/darker skinned people.I also think they speak terribly of people (black or white) in the salon in their language. A white lady sitting next to me in the pedicure area was complaining about how her feet were being scrubbed saying it was painful. My nail tech and her nail tech started carrying on furiously in another language. I thought that was just so disrespectful. The lady just asked her to be less aggressive. If you are a black/person of color I would strongly advise you to go elsewhere. i originally was so excited to come and get a pedicure, i actually rounded up some friends and we all went to american nails on a Friday afternoon. 1/20/17. I walked in and was greeted, everyone was very nice and they seemed pretty organized. i was walked to the pedicure tub i would be getting my service in, and starting off i told the guy my water was freezing at least 4 times. i get that i could understand he may not obviously know how i would like my temp. but it remained cold. he did not cut my cuticles, he did not cut my toe nails down at all. he said he would feel more comfortable filing them. i did not understand that. because i could give a damn about the polish, i get pedicures to maintain my feet (get my cuticles cut, my toe nails cut, and the dead skin from my feet off. i also told him i wanted french on my toe nails. he said he was good at french and all would be well. not exactly. the french tips were so thin, even after i asked to make it thinker he proceeded to just smile and laugh at me. it later came out that he was NEW and just moved to town. so basically he was training, he did not actually know how to perform a pedicure as it seems. i get people have to start somewhere, i really do. but i was actually a little irritated that he skipped so many steps even after i told him he was and after i told him i did not like the french, so i asked for a discount or something. money is not the issue i have to say, it was the principle of the fact he was new and i did not get what i paid for. i then asked an older man in a plaid shirt and he did not even look my way he just said "NO DISCOUNT. NO." even after i explained the situation. i really did love american and not paying the high prices of top end salons but i will just go back to my normal routine of doing so. i'm sure everyone else is great but that just wasn't fair to me and i'm not happy. Had a painful visit that ended up making me feel stressed rather than relaxed. The manager is nice, but the staff are indifferent and strange. I'd been here twice and had the same manicurist who was friendly, yet when I went back today she barely said a word. During my pedi, she kept cutting my cuticles too close to my skin and used an exfoliating scrub without even wetting my legs first, which felt like getting massaged with sandpaper. My manicure wasn't any better -- the acetone soaks left my fingers peeling and she used a 2 inch thick file clearly meant for acrylics on my natural nails that left them RAW. It was very painful and made my nails feel like they were going to instantly break. My friend also felt her mani was rushed, and her gel nails came out unevenly shaped and poorly polished. If you're going to rush clients because they come in on a Sunday and you want to close early...don't be open on Sunday! Simple. I won't come back. Read Less

I get an amazing manicure and pedicure every single time, and I've been going for 8 years now. My personal favorite tech is 100% detailed and gives me a calf and foot and hand massage, brings me water, and waits on me like a queen! Horrible horrible horrible !This place has horrible customer service and is just pure racist. I've been to this place plenty of times, reluctantly because of the customer service, but more because of the convenience of the location. Every time I'm here I notice that me and my friend gets treated differently than other customers but I didn't know why. I thought they just had bad customer service and was more into making money than keeping customers, but I finally found out today what the real reason were. Me and my friend came to get a pedicure and manicure at 6:30 (they close at 8pm). The man told us that we can only choose one, meanwhile, the other customers that came in after us (which I couldn't help to notice were white) were able to get all of the services that they requested. One lady wanted to get a wax, full set, and nails, and her request was not rejected unlike ours. I will never go here again, and anyone that believes in equality should not go there either. Read Less
