I've been to numerous nail salons and none even come close to Sage & Grey. I came here to get manicures for my wedding with my maid of honor. The studio is bright, clean, and welcoming. Cindy greeted us the second we opened the door & we waited less than 5 minutes to be seated at the bar and our manicurists quickly came over and got started. It was my first time getting a gel manicure and it was very relaxing. The woman at the nail bar next to me did have her dog with her, so beware that a pup might be around when you go. The TVs behind the nail bar were on HGTV and I think The Food Network so I was happy. They provided small bottled waters for me and my maid of honor. My nails were all even, and uniformly shaped & the polish was applied completely - every other place I've ever gone to has missed multiple sides of my nails. It's a bit out of the way for me, but I will definitely be going here whenever I need my nails done again! Read Less

Clean Clean Clean! Today was my first time here and I love it. Salon is clean and bright. They do not take appointments, first come first serve, but plenty of pedi chairs and mani stations. Nice selection of polishes and very reasonable prices. Everyone was very friendly. Read Less

I was there on Saturday, absolutely wonderful inside, the woman who did my pedicure and gel mani was very detailed but very gentle. It's one of the few spots on the main line that has the matching regular polish to the gel polish. I also got my eyebrows waxed, so I'm waiting to see how long I can go before I need another eyebrow wax. Also, they do not take appointments so be very careful about the time of day that you go. Overall, I'm definitely going back, only cost me $3 more than my normal nail salon but that's not a deal breaker. Read Less

The experience while at the salon was wonderful. Staff is very friendly and the atmosphere feels new. But, it has only been 4 days and the polish is coming off every one of my nails. Disappointing after such a great experience in the salon.Read Less

I have visited several times and the experience is always different. Last time I visited, the woman used an extremely coarse file to buff my nails. My nails were noticeably scratched. Other times, they have left cuticles or polished unevenly. Unfortunately I will not be returning. Read Less

Not a great experience. The specialists were not friendly. Rushed through the manicure and pedicure. There were also bubbles in my nail polish at the finish. They were willing to fix it --  but rushed through it again and there are still bubbles. Not happy. Won't go back. I have it two starts because the inside was nice decor. Read Less

I usually go here after work and a couple of  ladies that have done my nails have been pretty good and attentive. However, today was far from that. The lady who appears to be new, rushed my gel manicure - it's a clumpy mess, she cut my nails down when I told her not to and when I asked for the massage and lotion she said I didn't get that because I had a polish change, which I have to point out was on my feet. I always received the massage when getting a gel manicure. Regardless of the massage, I shouldn't have had to ask for lotion. As you can see from the image, my hand looks dry like I've been washing dishes by hand, not leaving the nail salon. I'm thoroughly disappointed in my nails. If they weren't about to close and I didn't have to go home and get ready for my vacation, I would go back and talk the owner. I want to go back because the place is definitely nice and the other ladies are very friendly and did a good job. But t I am just very disappointed in the the service I received today; I am not sure if I would take the chance. Read Less

Love this place. Convenient location. The nail technicians take their time and do a great job. My gels do not seem to last as long when I get them done here, though, otherwise I would have given 5 stars. It starts lifting and peeling off for some reason. Read Less

I am so glad I discovered this SALON!  So many good things to say. The shop is new and stylish. I've been looking for a nail place that feels like a treat and not a chore!  This is the biggest collection of quality polishes that I have ever seen, perfectly arranged by color. The staff is so nice. My technician made sure I was happy with the color I chose. I would not have said anything but it wasn't quite the color I expected. She guided me toward a 2 color combo that was perfect. I was torn between a polish change and a full pedi, but they offer an express pedi that was perfect. It's very obvious that they want you to be happy with your service so speak up if you want something different. They will accommodate.This will be my nail salon from now on. Read Less

My wife and I have been going here for the last few months. We always had the same manicurists. Today we walked in without an appointment. The manager, Cindy, gave us a cool nod, like she never saw us before.We knew we would have to wait but no one came over to say it might be awhile or even hello. No one at the desk.We waited at least 20-25 minutes and got up and left. No on cared.Too many nail salons out there to be treated like that.Find someone who cares. Owners are absentee owners. The good: clean, bright, great color selection, and a relaxing space. The OK: nothing special. My mani was average, the application uneven and nails sorta shapeless even though they are currently short. And using zoya should include all of zoyas products to maximize wear - at least the drying drops.I left underwhelmed. I am still searching for a place here to replace my beloved DC nail salon. Sigh. I stopped in around 11 on a Friday for a gel manicure and pedicure and they were able to fit me in right away. As I was choosing my color, it sounded like one of the employees was conducting an interview for a new technician. The new tech was hired on the spot (or so it seemed, based on their conversation) and was assigned to do my pedicure. Someone else rushed through an explanation of where all of the tools were and then sat in the waiting area on her phone instead of staying with the new employee to train her/show her around the salon. It was super awkward. I understand these sounds like major "first world problems", but the pedicure just wasn't good. She didn't do any cuticle or callus removal. She had no idea how to wrap the hot towel and it was slipping off of me and dripping. The polish was so sloppy - all over my toes and applied unevenly.I spoke with someone about it and they assigned someone different to do my manicure and had the same lady fix my toe polish, which is why I am giving Sage and Grey two stars instead of one. The second time around the pedicure was better (not great) and the manicure was okay, but I feel like I missed out on what the service is supposed to include. The lady who rung me up ended up charging me less for both services, which was nice. I appreciated that they tried to make things right, but in the end I just wasn't totally happy with the service. I will probably not return, which is a shame since it is close to my work and a really pretty space. Read Less

Sage & Grey Nail Studio is 100x better than any other nail salon I have been to in my 30 years of existence. I love this place so much that I make the drive out from center city to Radnor for the following reasons:1) Could this place BE any more beautiful? It's pretty, bright, clean - so inviting! I could live there and be happy.2) Everyone is so friendly and the service is exceptional. I always have enjoyable conversations with the nail techs - sometimes my face hurts when I leave from smiling so much! I have gone at least once a month for a gel mani since it opened and have personally received excellent service from Cindy, Kristine and Vanky. My manicures have always lasted, which is very important to me.3) The colors. The brands. So many to choose from! 4) Walk-ins are welcome, but this place is getting very popular so I always make an appointment and have never had to wait more than a few minutes for my appointment.Now that it's warm out, my next trip there will include a signature pedicure for sure. I can't wait to sit in one of those chairs!In reading the reviews below, yes you do have to tip in cash, but other salons I have been to have had the same policy so that's certainly not a deal breaker for me. I simply make it a point to take cash out prior because they deserve the tips for such great service. Read Less
