This was my first time here. Heidi did an excellent job! She paid attention to detail when it came to removing my previous nail polish and I loved that she put a 3rd coat on for my manicure. Usually with gel places will just do two coats but honestly three holds up so much longer and better. I came in late on a Thursday night right before 8 (they close at 9 I believe on weeknights) so I was the only one there which was nice just being able to walk in for an appointment without waiting. I will say that all of the stations were clean and they were nice enough to offer me water or tea while I was getting my nails done! I will be back! Dena was super sweet and did a great job. I got a regular pedi and a gel mani. The pedi was great! She massaged my feet and legs more than other pedicurists have. After being turned down at two other salons for a nail repair, Nailspa staff gladly helped me out with getting my broken nail fixed.  My tech was awesome, she helped figured out a match to my existing pink and white manicure and the repair was beautiful.I do not live in the area so it was not easy for me to deal with getting a nail repair.  I really appreciated her not only her willingness to help me with the repair but also the beautiful work she did to repair my nail.Highly recommended! I've been to almost every nail place in Pittsburgh (a little bit of an exaggeration but I've been to a lot) and I've never been too impressed until I met Tim and Dena. The salon is clean and very relaxing. They always do an amazing job on my nails, especially Dena. She is very meticulous and takes her time. I'm a perfectionist and in the past, I always was able to point out something I didn't like as the nail tech was working on my nails (super annoying I know) but Dena does such an amazing job that I never have to ask her to fix anything for me. I found these guys on referral through some aesthetics website I can't remember. I got in easily and they even answered my email on a stat holiday - bonus. Quick service, good job and nice environment. Parking is a bit of a ^%$&@ on Forbes so Uber or walk if you can....it was a tad on the expensive side for what you get - I'm a super massage freak and would've loved a bit more attention on the hands. I got a gel Mani and a regular Pedi with added massage/lotion/scrub. Took about 1.5 hours or so and I love the colours they have to offer. I'll be back for sure because they were so friendly and to the point. The massage chairs don't turn me off either. I can sleep through a pedi all day in those. Read Less

I have had two toe nail polish changes here in the past month and had a great experience. There was a short period of time earlier this year and last that the owner was on partial maternity leave and hours were inconsistent and emails and phone calls for appointments were not returned. The owner has turned the business over (temporarily) to a couple who are doing a great job. Evening hours, very pleasant and professional service and great quality polish. Prices reasonable. This is a bright, attractive, very clean place. Feels more like a nice salon. No strong polish or remover smell. They have zoya brand polish, which is gentle on your nails and holds up well. Every time I stop there to get my nails done they are not open. It's extremely frustrating going somewhere multiple times and the doors are locked. Clearly the organization/communication at this place is Non existent. There are plenty of great places to get these services. I feel strange writing a review on a place I've never been but seeing as though that choice wasn't mine I think it's necessary. I purchased a groupon for a hair treatment - cut and conditioning. I called them to schedule my appointment, the message said it's best to email them instead. I left a message stating my preferred days and times for me to schedule an appointment. And because I'm a reliable person I also emailed them reiterating the same information. About a week passes and I never receive a phone call back or an email. At that point I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt. I suppose it's possible they never received my phone message or my email. I call them again, leave another message telling them my availability and letting them know I've called and emailed before, I then email them a second time saying the same as the message I left. Nothing. No call back, no email back. Somewhere in between the first call I made and second I was walking past their shop and tried to go in to make an appointment, door was locked and lights were on but it looked empty. This was in the middle of the week in the early afternoon. If they are so busy they can't be bothered to answer the phone or reply back to an email you'd think the place would be packed. I bought a Groupon for 2 cuts with style. I used one for myself. The stylist, who is mercifully no longer there, cut my hair longer on one side, and cut almost 2" off ( I said no more than  1/2"). Called them repeatedly  (4-5 times) before someone  (I think it was the manager) called me back, but I had already gone to Antina's (another Groupon disaster). Unfortunately,  I was heading for a tunnel on the T; I called back, booked an appointment, went, and left, because the new stylist encouraged me to go back to Antina's and have them fix my haircut and partial highlights that they screwed up.To her credit, she did offer to fix my hair, but Antina's screwed it up, so they should  fix it.I still have the other cut I need to use by June, but after 3-4 more calls without a call back, I'm not hopeful. Typically I go to the local Borics or Supercuts for quick ten minute haircut/trim and be on my way. i saw a groupon for The Nail Spa and decided to treat myself a little. The place itself was a cute little studio tucked away in a basement on Forbes Ave. To be honest, i was curious as to what I was getting myself into because the hallway/steps leading to the basement were a little sketchy, but once you see the spa you know you're fine. My stylist was Katelyn. She listened to how I liked my hair and wasn't shy when I said I wanted three inches cut off. She styled it in a manner that I would be able to replicate on my own without the need of an arsenal of sprays, combs, brushes, etc. I left there impressed and would recommend this place to others. This is my go-to place for hair. Paige always does a great job with my hard-to-wrangle, thick, wavy hair. I've been trying to grow it longer without it looking too heavy and she is able to do that while not chopping it too short, which other places tend to do. I've also had my nails done at NailSpa and they do a pretty good job there, including fixing a bad gel I had received at another nearby salon. I have been to the NAILSPA twice and both times had excellent service and results. Got a mani-pedi each time. What I really liked was that they did both the manicure and pedicure at the same time, so it cuts your time at the spa in half. That was a big selling point for me. The staff and owner are very friendly and professional. They offered suggestions on how to ensure my polish did not chip. I went to the beach a week after getting the mani-pedi and my polish looked great the whole time.I have been to other salons in Downtown Pittsburgh and Squirrel Hill and think NAILSPA is the best for the money. I have been to salons throughout the U.S., and no one has ever taken the time to refine and buff the nails with the sides of an actual nail file before. The result? A very thin, natural-looking nail, with curvature and shape that matches my natural nail.
