I tried to not write this review. I tried twice to seek remedy but now I'm upset. I don't appreciate being spoken to like a foolish child. So here goes my experience. I scheduled a mani-pedi and massage. My manicure was fine but my foot and lower leg were scalded by an overheated steamy towel. I of course reacted immediately kicking the towel off of me. I was not offered a cool cloth and the next process was to apply a mint cream which was anything but soothing to that area. There was very little mention of what had just occurred as no one seemed alarmed that I was burned. No blisters or anything but definitely not comfortable for a bit. I then enjoyed a massage with Steven and was face down and told to spend a few minutes relaxing when he was done. My relaxed feeling came to a sudden end as I lifted my head off the blanket. There was something hurting my right eye. It was clear something was in there. Steven immediately offered drops he was carrying in his pocket but they offered no relief. I had to drive home like that and had a pretty rough night. In the morning when I woke tears poured down my face and my eye was swollen and intolerant of light. My husband immediately went to the pharmacy and got drops and an eye wash kit. A very short piece of blonde hair that looked like a freshly trimmed piece eventually came out of my eye with a Qtip.  I had to make an emergency appointment with my eye doctor because the pain was overwhelming and I was leaving the country the next morning and fearing infection. He said there were many scratches on my eye. He inserted a bandaid type contact that I had to wear for several days. I had to pay a $50 copay. I'll have to pay it again for my follow up appt. I spent $50 in over the counter drops and lubricants my doc told me to buy. I wasn't allowed to swim on my dream vacation with the contact in so missed out on days in the private pool at our villa and in the ocean. I have to put drops in every night now for a month at bedtime so the cells don't lift off of my eye. I know things happen but "Sorry for your luck" and "There's no way you can prove that" are not acceptable responses from the staff.  I never realized this brunette needed to save the piece of hair that was blonde to prove it wasn't mine or that it wasn't my own eyelash as has been suggested by Sarah in her condescending tone today.  A sincere apology would have gotten them off the hook with any of this but not a hint of one was ever offered. My expenses I incurred over this were not offered to be reimbursed or even acknowledged.  I went there for relaxation. Too bad it only lasted a few minutes past the end of a costly massage. Never again!!!   I'll roll the dice and try my "luck" at another spa. No more of this place for me. Read Less

I almost feel a little bad writing this review, but then remember the $62 check I wrote for my services. I stopped down to get a manicure and eyebrow wax Friday evening. I was the only customer there. First, the manicure is awful. The technician did not remove any cuticle, she did not use a base coat, and she didn't even get the nail color over the entire nail. The whole process took her less than five minutes and it definitely looked it. She rushed through it like it was a race. The nails started chipping a few hours later and all I did was take a shower. I felt very awkward and didn't want to say anything negative because other staff members were gossiping to each other about other clients and even the salon upstairs. The eyebrow wax was ok, but I do my own and I've done better. In fact, when I do my own nails, my nails don't chip for over a week. I am sad to say that this was a total waste of $62. That's what it came to with a tip. My intention was to treat myself and have a fun experience, but I couldn't wait to get out of there. My nails today, not even a week later, are all chipped. I even had to re-file my nails. Although the actual space of this spa is very warm and cozy, it's not worth your time or money. Read Less

Intuitive and targeted massage! I was given a 60 minute massage gift and what great treatment I received! I get massages regularly and am sometimes skeptical about the therapist that work on me. Steven won me over with his thoughtful questions about my body but, more importantly, his intuitive and intelligent sense of where my body needed attention. He used the reflexology points in my feet to see that my upper back region needed a lot of work. He applied strong, slow and targeted pressure on the knots and tight spots throughout my lumbar and neck areas. I came in for my bridal appointment with my mom and 3 girls. I had SO much fun from the trials to the day of. My MUA, Julia was awesome every time I saw her. You know you made the right choice when you have a nervous MOH and she says “kudos for finding this place”. I would pick them again if I had to do it all over again. I was referred by Logan at studio raw to see Amber for microblading. My eyebrows have thinned out over the years and I have to spend a lot of time filling them in everyday. Amber was wonderful. I went to see Amber for micro-blading since I saw a friend suggest her on facebook and it's the best decision I ever made! I have always been self conscious about my eyebrows (or lack there of) and I was so nervous going in to it that they would look fake or just not turn out right. Well I was wrong. Amber was so sweet and put me completely at ease about it before we even got started. She showed me everything she was doing step by step and took the time to explain the process to me. After a 60 minute massage, I have to say that Regina might be the best massage therapist in the North Hills area. She uses an eclectic mix of techniques that she's acquired over the course of her career, and it results in a very personalized, caring experience. Though you should communicate with your therapist for the best experience possible, I found myself not needing to say much as she somehow seemed to empathically zero in on exactly those areas that were troubling me. I don't think I could have expected a better experience, and I now feel like I want to lie under the sun in some field of grass for the rest of the day, soaking in the relaxed state as much as possible. The spa itself is beautifully and thoughtfully decorated as well. I loved the floating fire display hanging on the wall in the extremely comfortable and intimate waiting area. The hosts who check people in, follow up with them, and answer questions were very customer service-oriented, extraordinarily friendly, and just attentive people (in a good way). I'm pretty sensitive to loud noises, and I didn't feel like it was a noisy or distracting environment, which is surprising considering how they were able to tend to and entertain so many other clients. It's exactly the kind of atmosphere you want when you're treating yourself. I'm very impressed with this place, and it's nice that it's conveniently located in the North Hills area. I was referred to see a physical therapist for heat and massage due to a build up of scar tissue post reconstructive foot surgery.  At PT I was in a bright room with other patients, it was busy, loud and not a relaxing place to escape to. I asked Steven about whether he could help with massage and he assured me he could meet the needs I had for PT. I just had my second reflexology massage with Steven today and have already booked my next appt. He has the best room and makes you feel so relaxed while you are there. He used the perfect amount of pressure and I feel like he has made huge improvements on my pain level and discomfort in just two sessions. I cannot wait to go back next week. Regina gave me a massage and WOW. Not only did she do the general massage (I got the 30 minute torso, shoulders, and neck option), I'd told her that I have pain in my right arm from carpal tunnel, so she devoted time to massaging that arm. I haven't experienced any hand, wrist, or elbow pain since!! The rest of the staff was friendly, patient, and definitely accommodating for our large group. I went for the first time this week. The atmosphere is great and the people are friendly. I would love to give this place 5 stars. However, if you are allergic to scents or have sensitive skin, I cannot. They use a lot of floral air fresheners that triggered my allergies. I sneezed nonstop while I was there. I had a brow wax. The technician was good and I liked the shape. However, the skin above and below my brows broke out with itchy hives after and stayed inflamed for 48 hr. Not really the look I was going for the next day at work. So, although I really liked the people, i can't go back and would not recommend it to anyone with allergies. Read Less

I've been going here since they were a part of the attached salon Studio Raw. It's gotten better now that they are on their own. I have never had a reason to complain. They have always taken high quality care of me and my beauty needs. I used to live in the north hills and after moving 45 minutes away could not find anything nearly as good. Because of their service and skill I now have no issue with driving 45 minutes from home to get my mani, pedi or massage. The only sad thing I have to say is because they are so good at what they do I can't always get a same day appointment. I strongly suggest making one 2-3 days or more in advance if you can. I have had serious back issues since 2 cervical spine  surgeries in the early 1990's.  I  always in search of a massage therapist who can help relieve the constant pain and knots in my shoulders and back . Regina Finley is the very best I have ever found anywhere.....we not only own homes in Florida and the west coast, we travel constantly.  Even the masseuses in Europe do not compare! Regina was originally head therapist at Esspa in Aspinwall, now head therapist at this new spa Sugar Spa and Beauty Bar, on Babcock Blvd, it is downstairs from Studio Raw.  I leave from her 90 minute massage totally pain free.  I cannot recommend her highly enough.
