The customer service and quality of service deserves 10 stars. Very friendly, accommodating, Tina took her time with my nails and even finished off with a back and hand massage. However I cannot give the full five stars as my gel manicure started chipping after 9 days when a gel should last at least two weeks. We got off to a rocky start where I wanted to come in for a pedicure. I read yelp reviews saying make sure to call before showing up and I did...I was told I could come in for 11 but there was an 11:30 appointment they were expecting. I got there and told them I needed a spa pedicure, they said they didn't have time...only for a regular pedicure. I was a little peeved that day because there was only one other person in the establishment at the time...didn't look busy to me. Well, the fact of the matter is, Tina the owner was short staffed that day and really cares about providing quality service and if she knows she cannot provide quality in a certain limited amount of time, then she'd rather not do it and I admire that. Later in the week I called ahead to make an appointment, it was only when I checked Yelp I realized the appointment was actually for closing time. She remembered our previous encounter and tried to be accommodating but I didn't know it yet. Anyway, her spa pedicure is an hour long treat...you can be a shoe model when she's done with you. Just what my tired winter feet needed. Also, I didn't know beforehand but after every service, customers get a chair massage...if you need a little more time to get out that extra little bit of tension. If I could give this place 10 stars, I would. The salon is the cleanest I’ve been to in Philadelphia. They are priced fairly, never try to up sell you. They are clearly knowledgeable about nail health as well as proper mani/pedi techniques. I’m pretty sure I’ve seen most of the nail technicians they have on staff and I’ve been completely satisfied with the results. I’ve even had my eyebrows waxed there. I’m particular about this, and she did a perfect job. Everyone is polite and friendly. The owner is SO kind! Very accepting of all types of people, particularly very LGBT friendly. Tina’s Nail and Spa is the only place I like to get my nails done. They don’t offer acrylics anymore, but all of the services they do offer go above and beyond what is required. Read Less

I flew into freezing Philly for a wedding, and found Tina's to get a gel mani and regular pedi. It was SO COLD outside, and I was a hot mess from a redeye flight and sleeping at the airport. They let me change in their bathroom, and we're super sweet throughout. Lynn was meticulous, and when I couldn't decide on a color, she and her colleague let me try on a million shades of pink until we found the right one. She gave me an amazing foot, hand, and back massage, and was very careful cutting my cuticles. I'm a nail-biter and had a ton of dead skin around my fingers and she was able to make me look delicate and feminine in spite of the fact that I'm clearly not. Highly recommend! Read Less

Let me preface this by saying that I have been getting my nails done since I was a teenager (it was a long time ago). I've been to many different nail salons over the years ~ in the city, in the suburbs, in the hood (haha), etc. I've never been treated with such care and attention like at Tina's. I found her nail salon when I was working in Philadelphia as it was really close to my former job. The nail salon recently opened and it was convenient (2015). Why not? I quickly learned how amazing the service was. Tina, Lynn, Lulu, and Lulu's sister (recent addition) are the sweetest and the service is like no other. You never feel like you're being rushed out which is not to say if you need a QUICK (very well done) mani/pedi - they also got your back. I've recommended her place to so many of my friends and they all come back to her. They are personable and you feel like family which allows you to be honest.For the VERY few negative comments - not to be bias but I think it's the fault of the reviewer. If you haven't been to a place before, simply call ahead and ask questions. Its a small place with a max of 4 employees...if you walk-in there's a possibility you won't get serviced so don't get upset because other people understand the concept of making appointments. Pedicures are done without gloves which is a definite plus because the massages don't feel the same when someone has plastic gloves on. The massages were great too! I got the mani and pedi. Overall Impression: New favorite salon.I have gone to multiple nail salons in Philadelphia, but this will now be my go-to. My friend and I walked into the salon after church, each getting a gel manicure. My friend has a learning disability and while most people are kind to her, they often don't choose to have the patience to know the amazing woman she is. Tina, the owner, did not just give her a manicure, but gave her an incredible experience altogether. She was patient with my friend, even through her continuous questions, indecisiveness in polish color, and general curiosities. Tina's voice remained calm throughout, keeping my friend calm herself, something that is so vital in her interactions. There were only good things to be said about the salon after we left. In addition to the above, Lulu did a phenomenal job on my own gel manicure. She was so careful and intentional about making sure it was clean and done perfectly. Unlike most other salons, the staff did not feel distant -- you gals know what I mean -- it's so common that nail salon staff simply talk to each other and just do their job. Even though there were only a few of us in the salon on a Sunday afternoon, the staff were still welcoming overall and didn't give that 'distant' vibe we all feel at so many salons. This review is long over due. I was recommended this place by a coworker and it is conveniently down the street from my boyfriends apartment. Tina and the girls are the best. They truly care about the work they do and it is hands down the best mani pedi in the city. They do a great leg massage and then top that off with a hot stone massage. Their paint jobs are so reliable. Often the regular manicures last me a week and the gels easily two weeks and three if you are conscious of making them last. Tina will help you find the perfect color even if that means mixing them to get it right. Once my boyfriend scuffed my toe and I went in the next day and she wouldn't even let me tip her when she corrected it. I would recommend calling ahead (even if it's only 30 min) or making an appointment so you don't have to wait (usually only 2-3 girls are working). It is not cheap ($60 for gel mani and reg pedi) but the service and reliability is worth it! They do not rush you but let them know if you are in a rush! Read Less

Best nail salon in Philly. I went to a few in center city before trying Tina's (which is SO close to home). The prices are reasonable and the service is above and beyond what any other salon provides. They actually do good, long hand and foot/leg massages, massage your back while your nails dry, and do a great job with the manicure and pedicure. Have tried to go here a few times as it's very close by. They do not abide by the times posted on their door or on the web. They offer waxing services but the person who does it is never in. If you go in the are often not ready to preform any service. Example: I went in at 10:30 today to get an eyebrow wax. The women was not in and doesent come in till the afternoon ( they think , they had to call her and still weren't sure)The other staff were filling bottles and sweeping. This place is an absolute gem- my mom and cousin and I just got the best pedicures of our lives. The ladies are so professional, super kind, and efficient- we had such a relaxing time in the massage chairs, in the quiet spa on a Friday morning.The star of the pedicure is the massage- actually, there were several. The leg massage was decadent, lengthy, and thorough, the hot stone massage was heavenly and felt like bonus, the hot towels were a perfect finish- and THEN, as our toes were under the dryers, we each got a few minutes of shoulder and neck massage. I've gotten gel manicures all over this city, Tina's Nail & Spa is by far the best one I've found to date. Not only do the manicures last way longer than other salons, but they're so much more detail oriented! I really can't recommend them enough. They care about the health of your nails, as well as how they look aesthetically. And they give you massages while they dry. I first went here because it was in my neighborhood, but I come back again and again because they do top notch work.  I am currently still sporting a gel manicure I got two weeks ago and put to the test by swimming in the ocean for four days straight and doing all sorts of other chores that should have resulted in peeling by now.  I don't have one chip or peel.  They are all also younger there and know how to shape nails in a more modern way.  Tina, Lulu and Lynn are all great.  They are also excellent at color selection and will let you try out nail trends.  Tina often tries out new color trends herself which is helpful because I often see hers and then want the same color.The salon is clean and bright and while its prices aren't the cheapest, they are on par with many nail salons in center city and do much better work in my opinion.  I'm not going anywhere else now.  Finally, they give great massages! Decided to wax my brows today and I walked pass Tina's and I really liked it, can't believe I didn't come sooner since I literally live two blocks away! I walked in first to see if they were busy and I was told they have a couple appointments and If I could come back at a certain time and It was totally perfect because I had to do a couple errands. I didn't really get to talk much with Tina but I can tell she was really professional. Every time she makes a pull she'll hold down on the spot to make sure you feel as less pain as possible and I really appreciated that. Oh man that was the best pedicure I've ever had! I wanna pack those lovely gals into my suitcase and take 'em back to Los Angeles with me!Very gentle with clipping and nipping the cuticles, they do a scrub on the leg and feet, then a nice calf and foot massage.
