I've stopped in several times when my regular nail place was packed! I find that the service is inconsistent- sometimes they ask customers if they want something to drink and other times they don't at all. I'm not sure what to think- especially when no one offered me anything to drink, but the person right behind me walking in getting the same manicure did. I usually don't take them up on their offer, but at least ask everyone or no one at all! Also, sometimes there is music, and sometimes there isn't. I just can't figure it out.The space is clean and brand new! They seem to have a good selection of colors, I always have mine on me, so I don't know how good they are there.The nail techs aren't as chatty and it seems that the rules are more relaxed then of other places. I just don't like seeing employees sitting on their smart phones when there is nothing going on, but each to their own- other people may not care, so it's a moot point.The manicures are ok, nothing screams, 'I want to come back to this place again ASAP' My mommy contingent on our street kind of feel the same way, when we do our manicure outings together. She got me something to drink as I sat down and took her time to make sure my nails were perfect. Ehh. I recently moved to Philadelphia and finding a nail salon that does dip powder nails has been a bit trying. So after researching Yelp for the very few places that do dip powder, I decided to give LA Nail Bar a try. The place is clean and quiet, which is a plus. I made an appointment but was late arriving (I blame Uber) but I was still taken right away. They have a wide assortment of colors from SNS and Kira Sky. However, that's about where the pros end.Cons: they cut my natural long nails shorter on one hand than the other (this is nit picky but still needs to be addressed). A full set for dip powder is $45 but with the Yelp check-in discount of 10% for cash only, it is $40.50 (they have an atm on premises that has a $1.75 or so charge). Still a bit higher than I am used to but like I said, I just moved into the city so maybe this is standard price. What is not standard though, is that a hand massage and hot towel is not part of their service at all. I found that to be a bit subpar, unfortunately. They don't talk to you much either. I actually started nodding off .All in all, I will continue on my search for a new nail salon that offers dip powders but probably won't be back at this place if I can help it. Read Less

I hate to give them 3 stars but I've never been to a nail salon that didn't have "drying spray" LOL!But on a much lighter note... I was greeted and serviced promptly so that's a plus; great manicure/pedicure (I paid an extra $2 for some special nail polish and it chipped within week). I have been here twice since moving to philly a year ago. Both times I have gotten the SNS or powder manicure and a basic pedicure. I am extremely satisfied with the results of my manicures and pedicures. The salon is clean and organized. Both times I have been there Angelina has been very helpful and kind. The last time I went there I used a deal that was on yelp 20% off when you pay with cash from 11-3 Monday -Thursday. I got there before 3 but left after 3 and she still honored the deal even though it was gone from the yelp app to click and redeem because it was after 3 when I checked out. I had a hard time finding a nail salon that I liked when I moved here from New York that could do the dip powder because that is what I've gotten for years now due to its longevity. I get my nails done ever 45-50 days because it stays so long. I enjoy this salon and recommend it to friends of mine when they ask where to get their nails done. Thanks for being awesome Angelina! Decided to try this place since I'm in town for work. The people here are incredibly nice. I messaged the business for an appointment and got a reply within an hour at 11:30 at night. I was attended to right away. I wish they had had more than just boxed sweet red wine, but with that being said - this is a nail place and not a bar so it was all good. I drank the red that was offered to me, because hey, it's free wine. I tried the SNS powder dip nail because I have heard good things about it and opted for French. It was kind of a lengthy process but so far so good. This is supposed to last at least three weeks with no chipping or peeling. I would go back here for sure! Read Less

Everyone was very nice and the salon was clean but I have had much better manicures and pedicures. There is nail polish all around the edge of my toe nails and my cuticles were not cut evenly so they are rough to the touch. I can still see the blue polish from my last pedicure showing around the edges the new red pedicure from LA nail bar. They did not spend nearly enough time exfoliating my feet so I had to scrub them myself when I got home. It feels like i never got a pedicure if i have to clean up messy work. My gel manicure is OK but the color is not applied evenly so there are small dents and light spots on the nail. I'm really disappointed after reading such positive reviews. Read Less

Love this place! The owner is very quick to respond on the messaging system on yelp. She totally makes sure her customers are satisfied and truly supervises her nail techs; this helps ensure quality and happiness. My friend and I came and made a last minute appointment. We got our nails done and she helped us pick out colors we wanted. She came and made sure I had enough coats of nude gel polish on my nails so it won't look to translucent, which I thought was nice of her. My new favorite spot! I have consistently had very thorough acrylic manicures and I love it! Rarely does a nail salon take the time to finesse each nail but they do that consistently, every time. They have always had patience with me when it comes to bumping my freshly painted nails and they'll always go back and fix any mistakes that I made. Went to LA nail bar with my friend and we were both extremely satisfied with the service they provided. I got a gel mani pedi and so did my friend. There was no wait and they went right into business. For pedi, the water temperature was just right and my nail technician, Angelina, gave me a really worthwhile massage, applied on the gel polish carefully, and the most important part SHE TOOK TIME AND MADE SURE MY NAILS LOOKED RIGHT. As for mani, I asked for a diamond design and some recommendations along with it. Angelina was very patient and gave me great consultations. Overall, I am extremely satisfied with this visit and will definitely come back again, along with my friend! I highly recommend this nail salon to everyone.Ps. After just leaving a hair appointment at 11th and Pine - it started to pour down rain!  I was looking for a place to shelter (as to not ruin the freshly done hair) and saw this nail salon.  I didn't have time to check reviews, etc. - I just needed out of the rain and quick!  They were able to service me immediately ... Although the pedicure did feel a tad bit rushed, the stylist was attentive enough and did very good paint job, especially with the mani - my nails are FLAWLESS!They offered water and had yummy lychee candies available.  The only thing that they didn't offer (which is becoming more and more standard at salons) was the little back rub/massage while your nails dry.  All in all, good experience - I will definitely return when seeking shelter from another rain storm OR when in need a great mani/pedi for $40! To know before going: they accept credit card and take tip on card too (thank God). They might be the only place open on holidays (call first, but I found them because they were the only nail salon open on Memorial Day). I have only gotten gel pedicures here, but they take their time to make sure it looks great. I have never felt rushed. Facility looks clean and they offer water or wine during your time there. Chairs are comfortable and have built in USB chargers for your phone. They have a decent selection for colors and the nail techs are very attentive. Pricing is pretty standard. Read Less

My friend recommended this nail salon, it is my new place to go and only nail salon I'll go from now on. I had wonderful experience at this place. I had a broken gel nail emergency and they fit me right in. Took the time to find a good fix for the health of my nail. This is a relatively new shop that opened about 2 months ago. I'm giving it 3 stars because it's a great cheaper alternative to other shops I've tried in Center City, and they provided great but not fantastic service. Would give 3.5 stars if I could because it's not quite 3 but also not quite 4. Pros:1) Price! $30 for a gel mani which is cheaper than other places around the city that are $35-40. Plus I got 15% off for checking into Yelp. Technically it should've been $25.50 but they charged me $26. 2) Service. The lady who checked me in was friendly, accommodating, and helpful enough. 3) No wait. Walked in middle of the afternoon on a Saturday and was serviced immediately. I attribute this to it being a newer and less established shop. 4) Relatively clean. The floors were clean and I noticed a technician clean out the pedicure tub with a spray and scrub after using it. Floors were well-kept and the instruments appeared clean. That being said, my technician didn't pull the tools out of an incubator like some places do, which made me a little nervous that it wasn't sanitized after its prior use. 5) Good color options. They have a wall of reasonable color options for regular and gel colors. Cons:1) Somewhat inconsistent service. They asked one client if she wanted water when she walked in. Noticed they didn't offer a beverage to multiple other clients that came in, including myself. 2) My cuticle was cut too much and I bled a bit! She did apologize but it stung. :( 3) My gel mani had a couple of small bubbles on a couple of nails. The border of one of my painted nails isn't completely straight. The paint is a bit wavy. I understand that the paint job is very technician-dependent so I unfortunately must have gotten a technician who wasn't as great. 3) So quiet! There were about 6 clients and 5 technicians and NO MUSIC or a TV or any talking or anything really. Dead. Quiet. And frankly a bit boring. 4) It was difficult communicating what I wanted with my technician because of a language barrier. I didn't feel super comfortable about this because I didn't feel I could voice my concerns about my nails and that she'd understand what I meant. Good alternative for a bare-bones cheaper alternative for a nail salon. Wouldn't come here if I needed a stellar nail job for a special occasion or if you're very detail-oriented like I am. But it was a great alternative to stop by for an inexpensive service. You get what you pay for! Read Less

Stopped by today to get a gel mani and regular pedi. The newly renovated nail salon is located right by the city (little noise pollution) and the place is nice and relaxing. The lady's were really welcoming and friendly! There was no wait and I went in around 11 AM. I picked out my polishes and headed straight to the pedicure station. The water was just right - Luke warm, not too hot and not too cold. Also, I love the fact that they have massage chairs because my back desperately needed the massage after back day at the gym. I got the express pedi which took about 20-25 mins. Pedi looks great as well. She used this lovely smelling scrub and lotioned my foot and leg too!  After the pedi, we went to the mani station where the lady did my gel mani. The pink color I picked had glitter in it and I didnt notice that so she helped me pick out two other colors and I went with a pale pink color that she picked out. Three coats later and I feel like a new lady with my nails! lol. Overall, a great experience and the lady's were very friendly. They do have special prices on Wednesday as well! Read Less

Gel manicure and regular pedicure were both well done with the exception of some left over toe cuticle that could have been cut but that won't stop me from returning!
