I go to Royal mainly for pedicures. I never make an appointment and nearly always get immediate service. The basic pedicure up through callous removal services are inexpensive compared to other salons. The pedicure area also features nice passage chairs. I have been to other salons in the area and do not bother with anyone other than Royal now. The staff at Royal are friendly and welcoming. They have a very clearly family environment and take pride in the cleanliness of their salon. I would go here 10 out of 10 times! Read Less

I am shocked by the less-than-stellar reviews I've read here about what I consider to be the best nail salon in the area. John and Tham, the owners, always make sure I get exactly what I need and want and make sure that their pricing is fair, upfront and appropriate to the services rendered. After trying 4 other locations for nail services in both Oakmont and Verona, I have to say that I've never felt as though I was treated better or provided with better nail service anywhere. In fact, the two places I tried in Verona were visibly dirty, in need of an interior facelift and and in desperate need of friendlier staff. The two locations I tried elsewhere in Oakmont were overpriced. I am especially taken aback by the reviewer who claimed John was inappropriately flirting with a teenager. That's just an unfair ad hominem attack on the character of a man she neither knows nor understands. If you have a problem with customer service that is fine. She didn't like waiting for her nails to be done. To try to smear a man's personal good name is inexcusable. His wife works alongside him. I've known them for years and they have a great, fun relationship. And they both joke with their longtime clients. I'm very sorry if you don't understand when service providers and their clients are also family friends. I highly recommend this nail salon. They build positive relationships with their clients and I promise that the review of the impatient woman who felt slighted because she was asked to wait for service does not speak for the hundreds of clients who've faithfully visited John and his family for years. I had a pleasant experience getting a manicure and pedicure here. The price was $45, I believe, and these prices are high to me as I'm used to paying much less in other places I've lived (Texas, California, New York, $20 for a pedi & mani). I made an appointment for 4:00PM on a Friday and it wasn't busy at all when I arrived, however more people came while the technician was doing my pedicure so I would recommend making an appointment. Apparently the technician didn't like the way she painted one of my nails so she removed the polish and repainted the nail. To me that says a lot about the pride they take in providing good quality. I was really excited when I first went in cute and clean place and as I'm new to the area I was looking for new regular nail salon. I was however really disappointed as my gel manicure starting peeling after 5 days. I went back to have them take it off no apologies AND they wanted to charge me 10$ just for taking off the gel!! This is my go to place for a mani and pedi.  It is a family run business and the owners are very friendly and accommodating.  I normally call for an appointment a day or two ahead and they always squeeze me in.  Additionally, since I make an appointment, I have never had to wait at all. Their pricing is moderate but you get high quality nail products which would be pricier somewhere else.  I would recommend their services to anyone who wants a good mani and pedi at a reasonable price, along with some laughs from the owner, John. Inconsistent and overpriced for quality of work. The first time I went for a gel manicure, a woman painted about 5 coats on my nails. The 2nd time, a man painted two coats, there was bubbling on the nail and a strand of residual cotton ball left which was painted over. Not a bad experience at all but a little less than what I was expecting. Overall, I was greeted and felt welcome. I was told a 10-15 min wait but it was less than that. I received a pedi from the older lady, she was kind but not chit-chatty and when she spoke I had a bit of a time understanding her. I came in with the color of black on my toes and chose a bright fuchsia for spring. When she removed the polish she left a good bit around the edges of my nails. My toes looked like I had dirt around them. I will have to scrub them the best I can in the next couple of days to make them look fresh and bright. The prices are decent (typical) for salons. Cleanliness was not the best. I am used to a lining being placed in the tub for sanitary purposes, but they did not use them as far as I could tell. I tipped a bit more than I should have but that was my fault for not having anything less than $10 cash on me. Overall, they were nice and efficient. I would go back! Read Less

Long lasting manicures and pedicures with great pricing. $60 for pedi and gel nails. Polish lasted over a week before my nails grew out too long, no chipping. Comfy massage chairs and friendly staff. Had over 5-6 mani pedicures all great! Lots of color's, even new seasonal colors. Read Less

I came into this salon seeking a full set of long dramatic acrylics with a unique paint job. The salon was empty so I thought great we can both take our time and have a nice experience. Neither nail tech looked very interested in my being there. Like they were annoyed. After 10 minutes of looking at polishes (most of which were old and/or half opened) the lady informed me she had an appointment very soon. This did not leave enough time for what I wanted (Long crazy painted fake nails) and I dont want you bouncing back and forth between clients so how about you lead with that information? I was a walk in, I get it. I'm a hairstylist I know how this business works. I offered to come back later and ended up making an appointment for a later date. They didnt ask for my name or my number or exactly what I wanted so how could they properly prepare?  I'm just confused. I'm new to town and looking for a new nail salon. I'm a great, easy to please loyal customer but I feel like they didnt want my business. I'm sad. All I want is a unique well done set of acrylics that I'm willing to pay top dollar for. I'm a great tipper too. I will update after I actually get my nails done here. Maybe I caught them on a bad day. It happens to all of us. I've been going 2 John & his family for years & when they opened an additional shop in Oakmont I had 2 try it. Believe me, it's the same great service I've been getting for years...maybe even better!! I love that they treat their customers w/the utmost respect :) It's a great location & a very clean, beautiful salon. I almost never get color but I see that they have all the newest colors. I LOVE the spa pedicures....they're so relaxing, my feet look & feel amazing, & you get a complimentary bottle of water while you're waiting. 9 times out of 10 John does my nails & I honestly couldn't ask for anything better. Whether it's pink & white I'm getting or a design, I'm extremely satisfied. I've had my 5 year old daughter's nails painted by John's mom, whom she loves painting them, and have also had my 14 year old cousin's nails done by John's wife & the designs were amazing! Royal Nails and Spa is the only pace to go if you want your nails to look good. The staff is so great, and really friendly. I've been going to John for 10 years now. When he opened a second shop in oakmont, I knew it would be great. The place is conveniently located on the bottom part of allegheny river blvd, with plenty of parking. The decor is so stylish and modern. They have all the up to date OPI colors, and all the classics. I will admit, there has been a time or two where I've cheated, and gone somewhere else for whatever reason, and within a week my nails would be lifting, and/or falling off, chipping, etc. My loyalty lies with Royal Nails for a reason. I KNOW my nails will be looking good and fresh weeks after I've had them done. Not that I am recommending you go that long without a fill, but if you did, aside from you looking like you need a fill, your nails themself would still be looking great. New nail place in town thats easy on the eyes and the wallet! I have been going to the same nail salon for quite sometime (10 years) and when they opened an additional shop in the area I just had to try it out! Not only is it visible from the street, but they provide reserved spots for their customers! Gone are the days when you have to wait someone out for their spot! The staff are knowledgable and extremely friendly. Not to mention the pedicure chairs that give you a massage comparable to a spa (keep in mind it is a chair but its darn close) will leave you with excuses to get your polished changed on your toes! Appointments or Walk In's are welcome I've never had a long wait as a walk in. The staff will kindly inform you if there is a delay if you choose to walk in instead of calling ahead first.
