My go to Salon for too many years has been Chameleon... I can't even count how many years!. My entire family goes to Chameleon, even niece & nephew as well. Rose (Roe) has been my first stylist for ages now it's Melissa - both wonderful, kind and gifted stylists. It's like family to me. Not many salons are as warm and welcoming. I live both in Aston and the DE shore. When we moved to Aston, I couldn't find a good place to do my hair. I tried 4 places until I stumbled upon Chameleon. What a GREAT FIND!!! When I came out of there the first time, my cynical husband picked me up and was extatic at what Lisa did to my hair. It is the BEST Hair Salon anywhre ! I am picky, but I didn't have to be with Lisa, she really knows what she is doing. If I were anyone reading this, do yourself a favor and go to Chameleon, I promise that you will be extremely Happy. This is our absolute favorite place to get our hair done whether we go in for a simple cut, a major hairstyle change or some color, we couldn't be happier every time that we walk out the door. Meg and her team are awesome and not only excellent hairstylists but a fun group to be around and the whole salon just exudes positive energy! Made a last minute appointment with Lea today for balayage and a haircut. I had highlights from another salon that were not what I wanted and damaged my hair. Lea was able to give me the exact color I wanted and my hair looks and feels super healthy. I have been going to Chameleon for three years now. My first experience was totally unplanned as I had my hair done for prom at another salon and HATED it. The front desk was able to squeeze me in between appointments with Stephanie and she re-did my hair at a lesser charge since I just had mine done at another salon. Steph saved me from a horrible updo and a bad prom experience! Ever since my mom and I have been allegiant clients and LOVE the work Stephanie does. I also got my first highlights done here. I have hair down my back and Stephanie is patient and meticulous giving me fine weave highlights. I've been having my hair cut by Leah at Chameleon for about a year, and she is great! She knows how to work with my hair, and her cuts are always super flattering! She also really listens to what I want and checks in throughout the haircut to make sure I like what she's doing. She's also super fast, which I love. I recently moved to Conshohocken, and I still drive to Media to have Leah cut my hair, she's that good! It's not snooty like other salons but has a warm and welcoming staff, friendly vibe, and I always leave with a joke or two. Have had fantastic experiences here- got my hair cut and my little girl's hair cut here by Megan. Megan takes the time to listen to you and figure out what style is going to work with your lifestyle. She gave my toddler the cutest little bob and even texturized the hair unlike most places where they just lop off a bowl cut and charge you $15 for a cut you could have done yourself. I've gone to the same stylist at Chameleon for several years now. I had been pleased with my hair almost all of that time until my last and I do mean last time I was there.My color was applied and then the electricity went out. I realize the lighting was not as good as it was with the lights on but it was still light outside. The timer malfunctioned(non electric) so she had to estimate how long the color was on,she then sent me  to get my hair washed and the girl was so rough with my head and scalp! NIce enough person but boy she is rough! I got my hair cut and of course she couldn't blow dry it so she handed me the slip for the exact amount I always pay. I asked if it was right and she said the blow drys are always complimentary!?! That's only half of it...the next day I woke up to hair color on my pillow! When I called the stylist she asked if I had gone to be with my head wet! I hate when people try to blame the victim. I said no that it was a full five hours before I went to bed after the color. My hair is short so it was dry. She told me she had never heard of this happening and that I should try bleaching my sheets! :((( I did wash them and used non chlorine bleach. The case is ruined.When I mentioned this to a friend that goes to one of these discount Hair Cuttery type places she said she had a similar experience on a towel and when she went to them they gave her money to replace the towel.I was a good customer,I go every five weeks and always tip at least 20% with $ for Xmas. Chameleon not only provides excellent stylists, but also the entire salon experience.  When you walk in, you are immediately greeted by a friendly receptionist and hot coffee is always ready for you to enjoy while you wait.  The salon not only looks beautiful, with wood floors and lots of sun flooding the space, but your hair will look even better when you are finished at Chameleon. The pricing is very reasonable (my cuts are $45) and the salon and spa is located right near the heart of Media, PA.  I highly recommend Chameleon! Read Less

My hairstylist quit her job, so I was looking for somewhere new to go.  I saw the good reviews on here, so I decided to give it a shot.  I'd put off getting my hair cut for months for fear of having a bad hair cut.  I called on a Thursday and they got my boyfriend and I in for that Saturday with different stylists, but at the same time.  I was happy that I didn't have to wait a long time until my appointment.      We arrived and then realized we'd left a candle burning.  My boyfriend quickly drove home to distinguish the candle after dropping me off  I told the receptionist what happened and she said it was no problem and she's let the stylist know.  I was relieved it wasn't a big problem.  I was offered tea and coffee at my arrival.  Everyone was really friendly.      I waited about 10 minutes before I was taken back.  I talked to the stylist about what I wanted done.  Basically I wanted my layers straightened up and I wanted a minimal amount taken off the bottom.  Not cutting too much was my biggest request because I want my hair long for my upcoming wedding.        I got my hair shampooed and the lady was not at all rough and the water was the proper temperature.  I didn't have that kind of problem like some of the previous reviewers did.        I can't see what's going on when someone is cutting my hair because I am basically blind without my glasses.  I felt like she was cutting a lot off but I wasn't sure.  I suppose I should have said something, but it was kind of too late at the point anyway since the damage was already done.  The blow-dry and styling were a little rough and the temperature of the blow drying was too hot on my scalp as Mandi F. mentioned.  I put my glasses back on when she was finished and I was in a bit of shock because she had cut it much shorter than I was picturing.  I was a bit upset.        I got home and after a few hours some of the curl from the styling fell out and I realized it wasn't as short as I thought (though shorter than I wanted) and I actually liked the cut.  I just wasn't a fan of the way it had been styled.  The next day I washed it and styled it my way and went to work and I got tons of compliments.  People asked me where I'd gotten my hair cut.  I think one of my students is going there this weekend because she liked my haircut so much.  Now that I'm getting used to it, I like it quite a lot.  I guess it was the initial shock since it was so different than what I had before.        So basically, I got a haircut that looked good on me, it just wasn't what I was expecting and what I wanted at the moment.  I would give this place another shot.  I think I'm going to let my hair grow back out and not let anyone cut it again until after the wedding.  It's too much of a risk.  My boyfriend's hair looked excellent though.  Usually they cut too much off of his, but they took of just the right amount.   I think it's one of the better haircuts he's had. After reading the previous reviews here, I called and made an appointment for later that afternoon.  Lynn was so accomodating.  She asked what kind of hair I had so she could match me up with the right stylist.  When I arrived, I was offered coffee or tea and then given a tour of the salon.  There is a very warm feeling throughout the salon.  Melissa washed my hair and gave me a great scalp massage.  Megan, my stylist, was masterful and created a style that is flattering and easy to take care of.  This was probably the best first time salon experience I have ever had.  I am already looking forward to my next appointment. I just moved to the area and have been having a hard time finding a place to get a good cut. I made a super last minute appointment and they were able to fit me in right away. My stylist was Megan and she was awesome! The salon was a bit busy because of the holidays approaching but Megan was able to get me in and out of there in no time.  Megan listened to exactly what i wanted and i couldn't have been any happier. I have been seeing Victor now for almost 6 years and he never ceases to amaze me. I have straight, relatively fine hair, and he works wonders with it. The staff is friendly and accommodating and the atmosphere is inviting. They always have hot coffee and tea available.
