As far as salons go it's pretty nice. Was a little expensive in the past. Got up to $35 for a men's cut at one time so I stopped coming but am back now. Men's cuts are $19 which is pretty standard around here. I could go up the road and get a cut, wash and back massage for $21 but I have a guy here I have been going to for years. Read Less

I adore this place! After driving through Lancaster city and seeing the absolutely gorgeous mansion I knew I needed to visit! I've had one of their masters, Marcus von Keller cut me and my bf's hair on two occasions. By far, the best haircuts we have both had, and honestly, the price wasn't bad at all!! Five stars only because of Erica and Paige. I get my hair cut once a year I have curly semi thick hair. Erica saved my bad haircut. I had a stylist (who I will not name) who had texturized my hair which I didn’t ask for and he didn’t ask if that was something I was interested in. I was mortified at the state of my hair because the cut was horrible as well. I made a call and talked to Paige and she got me in two days later to sit down with Erica, who is a curly hair specialist... and master stylist. She made me feel heard and validated. She was able to show me how the haircut was not executed well and fixed it. She gave me advice for dealing with the “texturized” portion of the bad haircut. I've been going to Visage for many years. It's very disappointing that all the recent changes aren't for the better. They stopped serving wine at the end of last year, and raised their prices. Last night I was extremely frustrated that the reception girl who took my payment failed to return my debit card, so I was almost home and had to turn around and drive the whole way back to the salon. I came to Visage a' Visage, based on their google reviews, for a haircut.  The location is very clean and nice, and everyone was very friendly.  However,  the haircut I received is really uneven and not even close to what I asked for.  I had long hair and I wanted to keep my length and asked that only an inch or two be taken off.  I also wanted a blunt cut and very few layers.  I prefer just a minimal straight style haircut.  I do not like lots of layering and framing.  My hairstylist was very friendly and listened to what I wanted.  I even showed her pictures and made sure to say that I only wanted an inch or two off.  She gave me a good wash and then starting cutting in the back and didn't stop!  She took 5-6 inches off and what used to be long hair is now shoulder length and barely fits in a ponytail which is a problem because I also like to wear my hair up a lot.  She also feathered and added layers into my hair which I specifically asked her not to do.I was disappointed when I left, but I needed a haircut so I just went home thinking that I would grow it out and all would be fine.  However, once I got home and showered I also realized that the entire haircut is VERY UNEVEN and a lot of the layers are quite short.  So now I have shoulder length uneven hair, with short layers and framing. I considered calling back or going somewhere else to get my hair fixed, but I know the only way to fix it is to cut more hair to even it up.  So I guess I'm living with uneven hair until I can start to wear my hair up again. My bff took me for my bday. From beginning to end it was incredible. The atmosphere here is absolutely gorgeous. They have a cafe area with coffee, cold beverages, and treats where you can wait until you get called for your service. I went in for beach waves and a trim. I came out with a frizzy poodle perm and my hair is now to my shoulders. So much for telling them what I wanted and having a picture so they could see the end result that I wanted. Total waste of $90. Think twice before going to this supposed high end salon!!! Best Massage Experience I've ever had!Went there for the first time today for a couples massage. The mansion is gorgeous, service is exceptional and the the massage was perfect. I asked for deep tissue and that's what I got! Some therapists say they will do deep tissue but it's never enough. This place was spot on! We even got complimentary limo service to and from the spa. Ok first I never write reviews but Fabian was such a miracle worker I just had to share. I've had gray hair since I was 16, so the fight has been long, and I guess the gray is now going white which means the box dye I was using is not really working anymore. My hair was taking the color- let's just say not exactly evenly . So I went in for what I thought was some highlights and a good cut. Fabian was straight up with me about why my color was so uneven, we had an excellent consultation where we made a plan, discussed color options and then he worked his magic ! My color is 100% better than when I walked into that salon, I am so thankful for Fabian, his honesty, his openness and his teaching heart! ! Recently visited Lancaster for a girls' weekend to celebrate my sister.  We spent our Saturday at Visage A Visage for massages and manicure/pedicures. We were picked up at our hotel by the spa's limo service, which was a nice touch and very convenient.The spa is in a large, historic mansion.  The owners have done a wonderful job restoring it, and it is a beautiful space.  When it was time for my massage, I was brought downstairs to the waiting area... which looked more like a bar in someone's cellar.  The wood paneling was unappealing and it wasn't really a relaxing area before my service.  The massage room had a similar feel - nice, but like a dungeon.  My massage, however, was nice.  I had a maternity massage - which I never feel is the "best" but that's because you are limited, not because of the masseuse. My massage therapist was very nice and did a great job.  It was my mother's first time ever getting a massage, and her therapist made her feel very comfortable and she appreciated being walked through the process. The others in our group were pleased as well.  And, being from a larger city and used to paying higher prices for things, the price was right for a massage... very affordable.  We were also given a 10% discount for coming in as a group.My manicurist, while friendly, was awful.  It seemed as though she had no formal training in nail care, awkwardly held the file, and misshaped my nails.  My cuticles were not trimmed or even pushed back, and the paint job was not great either.  I had asked to have a couple of nails filed more as they were lopsided, but I didn't fuss over it as to not ruin everyone's mood in my group. My mother's manicurist did a wonderful job, took her time, and even noticed a tiny flaw in the polish on one of her fingers while she was getting her pedicure done and redid the nail without her even having to ask.  I guess it depends on who you get to do your nails!  I had another technician do my pedicure and she was much better. I can't speak to hair, makeup, etc, but I recommend for massages and just be sure you get someone experienced to do your mani/pedi - or be very particular! Read Less

MARCUS IS A GENIUS!!! Was only in town for a few days visiting friends with my husband. I was in desperate need of a cut/color. My roots were horrendous. Thank GOODNESS for Marcus' magical hands. I gave him an idea of what I was looking for (and told him I was sad to have left my old stylist because I was moving) and we even batted around a few ideas of a subtle balyage. Because I didn't know when I was going to find a good stylist again due to the process of moving & settling in, I needed it to look decent as it grew out. He listened to everything and said "I know just what to do for you" And he sure did! We went a little darker, so it was closer to my root color and would grow out nicely, but he kept it rich and warm. He got rid of all my dead ends but was able to keep the length and make it look full and bouncy. He even kept my old color which was lighter as the subtle pseudo-balyage. The establishment is beautiful, clean, and decorated nicely. The shampoo room is SO cute. And I love the headrests that are in the sink so your head doesn't feel like 1000lbs. He did a fabulous little scalp massage too!I asked him where my husband and I could get some much needed massages and he went ahead and made appointments for us at the same location! (We both had gals named Stacey and they were PHENOMENAL!)  The only problem with this is that I won't be able to return to him or the Staceys on a regular basis! I was not sure what to expect from this spa/salon considering the low reviews it has received. However, I was very pleased with the all-around service & setting! I received a 60 minutes prenatal massage with Hailey and a Visage manicure with Shirley. They were professionals and did an excellent job! I have gotten many massages from various salons from chains like Hand & Stone in NJ, local salon/spas like Plum, to resort spas in Mexico. So in comparison, this massage was very good. She offered the perfect amount of pressure for me and was very personable. Not to mention, I have received 2 prenatal massages before and this was the best. I would recommend Hailey and go to her again. As far as manicures, Shirely was great. She has very skilled hands - precise with a delicate touch. She gave me a relaxing hand massage too with exfoliation. I am going to go back to Shirley in a few weeks for a pedicure!!! Another bonus, the actual salon/spa is beautiful!! A lovely Victorian home with many floors and a wrap around porch to relax in on a beautiful day. Sorry so long! Just had to share my positive experience. They deserve 4-5 stars! Read Less

I received a massage, pedicure & haircut.I very much enjoyed my massage experience & would give it alone a solid 5 stars.  Not once did I feel uncomfortable or rushed.  The pedicure & haircut were likely the worst I've ever received.  I could not relax & kept hoping it would end soon.  The spa pedi process was clean & grey in theory- but the quality & beautician were poor.  She made it clear the salon was not where she wanted to be that day & even said so herself.  She asked me who got me the gift card.  I was appalled & offended as I was paying for these services myself.  It took her a whole 3 minutes to cut my hair.  After my haircut, I was obviously displeased & there was nothing she was willing to do to appease my disappointment except for a shoulder shrug.  I made my appointment with visage a visage expecting high quality & was extremely disappointed.  Just, so very disappointed. Please realize that this review is for Erica and her waxing services only.  This location is easy to find, street parking can be tricky, but its a beautiful location to get any service done in. I was greeted promptly by Erica who led me upstairs to her waxing room.  There she was friendly and instructed me to strip from the waist down.  Now, I'm not new to waxing, but for her to not step out of the room while I disrobed was not what I was expecting.  Fortunately, I'm not shy, nor a prude, so this was no problem for me, but others might be taken aback by her briskness.  We proceeded to chat about which type of wax to use where, as I am very particular.  She dismissed my request and did her way.  Now I'm getting a fumed.  She was done in all of 7.5 minutes with a very sensative part of my body.  That is record time, ladies.  Her work was great in some areas and not so great in others.  I would say that if you want the "wham bam, thank you, ma'am special" then go here.  Otherwise, try to find someone with not only skill, but a better bedside manner.
