Pricing is so so so inconsistent. Expect to pay more than advertised. My sister got her hair curled (not even washed just curled!!) for prom and it was $75.00!! According to their website it is $25. And when we asked the stylist why it came up to that amount, she didn't have any knowledge whatsoever regarding the prices of services. I used to go to this salon several times a month because I was new to the area and wanted a single place I could go to for hair, nails, and facials. This place was close and looked very luxurious with the decor and atmosphere. I have gotten several facials here and all were superb. I used to get my nails done here but the technicians were just not that great. I had gotten a gel French and every single nail had a noticeable difference in the white detail.... it drove me insane but the technician had taken so long I didn't want to complain to get it fixed and instead just went elsewhere. However, I did go back about 3 days ago and had a new girl who's name is Cassie and she has given me hope again. She is so sweet, quick, and great at doing nails! Now although the facials are great and I'm trying to get comfortable getting my nails done here again I will NEVER get my hair done here. The first and only time I did I was going from ashy blonde to a deep red. I don't remember the name of the stylist but she was so distracted by her up coming trip to France she literally missed spots in my hair.... they were not extremely large but certainly noticeable. Due to this I will never trust any of those girls with my hair again especially not for the price. I will say though Plum Salon does run many specials which is nice so the services I do enjoy such as facials are sometimes 20% off which is wonderful! So if you need a great place for facials this is the place, nails- I will only trust Cassie, and hair- egh I'd be apprehensive and just really look through it to make sure it was done correctly if you choose to come here. Well...First when I went in the receptionist asked if I wanted something to drink. She never told me what options they had, so I just asked for water but I never got my water. I had a coupond that I called a day before and asked if I can use it for my service, I was told yes, when I was done and was ready to pay, they told me the coupond was only good for Salon products. The receptionist talked to her manager and they did eventually honor my coupons. However, the same recep...tionist who never gave me my water, made sure that the "regulars" were offered many choices of beverages that they had and made sure they got their drinks. I usually don't do reviews but my nails are horrible (even though I did like my nail tech...she was very personable)....but for what I got, the price is ridiculous. I got the French gel manicure that is supposed to last for two weeks....mine didn't last a week and it was $36... I had the “complete package” which was a facial, massage, lunch and pedicure. The facial was fabulous. Lunch was good. Pedicure was great. The massage was a disappointment. I had better massages from my husband. I am 7 weeks post ankle surgery and my leg was treated like a disease. I said please massage my calf as it was tight from being in a cast and they didn’t. Awful experience. I'd give 0 stars but the salon was clean and used good products. Long story short: I wasted *two and half hours* of my life only to walk out with the hair I walked in with.I was traveling to Lancaster for a wedding and scheduled a blow out at Plum for 9am the morning of. I arrived a few minutes early and after about 15 minutes of waiting, was told my stylist was running late. He arrived at 9:30, was very apologetic, and we got started. I get blow outs often and figured at this point, I'd be done around around 10:30 because I have a lot of hair. No big deal because the ceremony was at 1 and I'd have plenty of time to visit with my family and get ready. I asked for long/loose waves. He asked if I preferred the waves be done with the dryer and round brush or the curling iron. I said whichever he preferred/was faster for him. He went with the dyer and brush. After the longest shampoo of my life, we sat at his station where he combed out my hair for what felt like and eternity. I wasn't facing the mirror during the blow dry so I couldn't see the progress. I got worried once he started saying he recently watched a YouTube tutorial on this method and needed to practice. The big reveal was so disappointing, my hair was basically straight with some slight flips at the bottom. He knew he messed up at offered to run a curling iron through but at this point I didn't have the time or the patience. It was 11:30! I thanked him and went to check out. He lurked by the counter as I checked out so I felt uncomfortable complaining and honestly just wanted to gtf out of there. They took $10 off my bill but didn't explain why...because he was late? Because I was stuck there for 2.5 hours for something that should've taken 1? Because I looked pissed and my forehead vein was on full display? Who knows. The blow out blew. Read Less

Came to Plum for my sister's wedding this past week. Leading up to her special day, we dealt with our appointments getting "lost" which they fixed - but I honestly wish we would have went elsewhere. After explaining to my stylist that my one stipulation was that I needed my bangs pushed back and out of my face - she proceeded to leave them down and ask me what I thought. When I explained that I hated my bangs and wanted them back, she asked why I hadn't told her...I did 4 times. Several other bridesmaids were disappointed with their hair; however, there was no time to fix the mistakes because the stylists were being very verbal about how late they were running. We felt so rushed! Makeup was just okay. Most of us needed to go back to the hotel and do our makeup all over again. None of our updos lasted - not even the Bride's. We were bobby pinning her back into place before she walked down the aisle. Luckily, the bride enjoyed her makeup and felt beautiful which is what mattered most - but I would NEVER have wasted my money here otherwise. You're better off doing your hair and makeup yourself. The receptionists are always pleasant, which is key since it sets the tone for how the rest of relaxing visit should go. My massage therapist was Hailey and she was a delight! She goes beyond the basics to give a deep, personal masssge. She knew what I needed without having to have a long discussion about it and made it clear to me that I was to let her know if anything should change throughout the appointment. I got highlights and a haircut at Plum Salon and Spa. Speaking honestly, I was really unhappy with how they turned out initially. I brought this to the attention of the staff as I was leaving and both the receptionist and Michelle, the manager, took my complaints VERY seriously. Michelle told me I could come back whenever I wanted to get it fixed. She worked around my scheduled and opened the salon early the next day to squeeze me in. When I came in, she was there ready to go and had brought me breakfast and coffee. I only had about an hour and a half before I needed to leave for work and she made my hair look absolutely beautiful in that time. I am so happy with the results and it was truly one of the best customer service experiences I have ever had. Michelle is extremely nice and truly talented at what she does. Very disappointed in the gel manicure I got. The manicurist did not take her time at all. I was in and out in 20 minutes which I feel is too quick to do a nice job. 10 minutes into my car ride home, 2 nails already peeled off since the paint was all over the surrounding nail. Worst salon ever. Terrible customer service - Stylist do not care about customers, they only care about time. When you call to express your thoughts or issues they make it your fault. They rush rush rush & your hair suffers. Front desk person is more concerned with stylist tip for terrible service verses her job. And forget getting the phone answered, takes servereral calls!! This is one of the WORST SALONS EVER!! I'm still waiting a call back - I'm sure a refund will be an issue - They ruined my hair, but made it to he next apt!! Oh an I left with a blow out that was half wet & full of shampoo & color!! What a joke!! And to make it worse; I had to hear them talk about all the other "problem" clients ...how professional! Anytime I move I always go to a local aveda salon for waxing. I went twice to Plum once for a bikini wax and a lip wax. Both times I was left with wax on my body and spots that were missed. My old aveda salon had a bright light they always used for waxing to ensure they didn't miss anything. Also, when she did my lip wax she wasn't wearing gloves and my skin broke out. (She was of course wearing them for the bikini). I asked her how long she'd been practicing and she said she wasn't an esticician but a cosmetologist. My mom, aunt, and I all had our hair and makeup done here for my wedding. I would highly recommend bringing your own makeup with you that you have used before and know you like as this salon uses only Aveda makeup. I loved my hair and it turned out exactly like I wanted and was even better than my hair trial. My stylist really focused on taking the photos I showed her and recreating it while making it her own, so I felt unique. I would give this salon a 5 star review, but they double-booked on my wedding day and ended up taking me an hour later with no apologies. Luckily, I had some time to spare, but that could have easily impacted a bride's day in a major way. My suggestion would be to call and reconfirm your appointment multiple times leading up to the day to avoid a similar situation. Ive been trying so hard to find a good salon locally. Sarah was sweet and did a nice job on my manicure/pedicure, but I was surprised to learn that its the same price whether you get gel or "regular" polish. $74 for a standard mani/pedi just makes no sense! It takes much less time and definitely doesn't last as long. Their website indicates a signature mani/pedi for $55 but there is no way to book it (link doesn't work) and it isn't available in their online booking menu. As a last resort, I asked the receptionsist and was told "No. Its the same price for gel or regular polish".  Needless to say, I wont return for such an expensive experience. Read Less

I went to Plum Salon & Spa for a massage.  Brad was my massage therapist. I have back issues from a car accident a while ago & explained this to him at the beginning. I unfortunately can't really enjoy & relax during massages anymore because of the pain I have from the accident, however know they are necessary & can help.  I really felt like he listened to me & really took the time to focus on certain parts where I hold my pain & tension.  He was great & will highly recommend him to anyone else that is looking to go for a massage.  I too will be requesting Brad the next time I want a massage.  Thanks so much! I booked spa services and a blow out. While my boyfriend and  I received great service in the spa, I felt that the experience was lacking in the salon. I am a bit particular, I work in the industry and have high expectations. However, I expect to not  have to tell  my  stylist that my hair was still wet when prompting me to leave her chair. She didn't use any leave in conditioner so she was pulling at my hair, I don't think she used much product at all. I definitely didnt leave happy and with my hands running through my hair.  like on any other trip to salon, I can't keep my hands off it. It feels so nice and and looks so healthy and shiny. In her defense, I do have a lot of hair but shouldn't have to tell a professional that my hair is still wet after a blow dry . Her response was that I would be doing my hair for tonight later. I would never have booked an appointment if I had any intention on doing my own hair later!!! Would advise management to a blow dry boot camp and education on products to their junior stylists. Hands down the worst salon experience I have ever had. I went to Plum to have my hair professionally dyed for the first time. While everyone was extremely friendly, by the time I left I had spent more on my hair in a few hours than I normally do in an entire year for a color that wasn't even close to the swatch I brought, to be sprayed in the face at the shampoo bowl, and to be poked in the eye with a brush full of dye (which I didn't get to rinse out- I was just handed a towel). I wasn't even offered a discount. I would've complained to the manager, except she's the one who did all of this and I just wanted to get out of there. I'll never sit in a Plum chair again.It's worth noting that my hair is dark blonde/light brown. The stylist bleached my hair before dying it, which, I found out from an out of state stylist friend, was completely unnecessary. Read Less

Looks really nice, not sure if it's just the girl I had but her concern was definitely not with styling my hair it was leaving. If you can call what she gave me bangs, the starting length changes dramatically about half way and the rest of the cut has no style, awkward thick, and over all poor. Not sure how she could say this was finished or nice. She later blamed my unhappiness with it on us not connecting and basically gave accuses why it was my fault. Although plum salon is a beautiful building. I was not happy with their manicure service. My friend and I got a gel manicure. We paid a little over 30 dollars for it and it was peeling off the next day. We did nothing strenuous. I ended up peeling all of it off just two days after we got them done. And my friends thumb nail polish peeled off. I don't get my nails done very often, but 2 days is not long enough for what I paid. Read Less

I had the great pleasure of  being on the receiving end of a 90 min massage with Shannon, followed by a 90 min facial with Rachel. The spa is comfy and quiet; the Aveda products were amazing and the massage and facial were sublime. With work stress at a max and planning a wedding two weeks out, I truly have never felt worse. I came in on two wheels with a blood pressure I am grateful I didn't know. I left a mushy lump of a human relaxed to the point where I wondered if I should drive home. So this place is one of the worst. My sister got married a few months ago and booked the salon for her and her bridesmaids hair and makeup. Honestly-- my sister looked beautiful and I accredit that to the consultations she had prior to the big day. However, My makeup ended up looking like I was going to a drag show. I wish I was kidding. My hair looked like a horrible clam shell placed randomly on my head. I did not ask for that. I asked for a low loose bun on the nape of my neck. It was so heinous and I was so upset I left the salon and ran to my hotel and washed my hair and makeup off and did it myself. Maybe my expectations are too high (I live in Los Angeles and am used to certain standards) but there seemed to be no rhyme or rhythm to any of the makeup and hair. I had a great experience here!My boyfriend and I bought the couples massage special for Valentine's Day weekend. The massage package included:1) A 60-minute massage for 2 in a couples room2) A glass of champagne and chocolate covered strawberriesThe total price for this was $150 (not including tip).We arrived 15 minutes prior to our slot time, which gave us plenty of time to fill out the simple form and slip into robes and slippers. The slippers were hard plastic, and that was not exactly my cup of tea. I would have liked soft slippers.We were given water with lemon, and waited about 5 minutes after our forms were filled out to be taken into the couples massage room. The room was very relaxing and nicely decorated. Both of our massages were great. They were customized to our needs and wants, and both of us felt totally rejuvenated after we were finished.We were then led to a small sitting area, where we were served champagne and chocolate covered strawberries. There were also other snacks and drink choices available. Everything was delicious!The best part? The unisex rain shower room, complete with all kinds of Aveda products. They have a separate room for the manis and pedis. The experience was nice but it's only been 3 days and it's beginning to chip off. A team of women did the hair and make up for the wedding party. I visited Plum for my sister in law's bachelorette party. Almost everyone who came with us opted for the plum perfect package, but since I was coming in that day from NJ, I couldn't make it for the entire party so I decided to get just a manicure and pedicure. I am not at all happy with the services I received at Plum. Not only was their foot massage during the pedicure dismal (zero pressure at all), but the color selection was pathetic. There was hardly anything to choose from! When I didn't see a color I wanted, I asked for a french mani/pedi, but I was told by the woman doing my nails that she didn't have the time. The worst part was that after paying a ridiculous amount of money for a crappy mani/pedi in a color that I wasn't thrilled about, my polish (including the polish on my toes) started to chip almost immediately! It was coming off in sheets!I get manicures every week and pedicures every 2-4 weeks, so I know what a good mani/pedi should be. The place I go to charges half the price as plum, has the same upscale ambiance (it is also a day spa), gives a hot stone massage during their 10+ minute foot massage during their pedicure, gives a back rub while your nails are drying from your manicure (I don't even know if Plum has nail dryers since I was never shown one), and has about 10x as many colors to choose from. And my place would never be so rude as to tell me that they didn't have time for a French mani/pedi. If I'm willing to pay, they will make the time. What a disappointment. Read Less
