Came here for a team dinner while out at Spooky Nook for a basketball tournament. Good service, nice vibe, and food was quite good. The fresh bread with honey butter was a great start. I got some wings which were excellent-big, fresh and a sweet/spicy sauce. The prime rib sandwich I had was very good. Server brought out a cool dessert with a big sparkler for my daughter's birthday. My man and I went for our first time last night. We had a troubling time deciding what we wanted because everything sounded so good!!! We ended up getting the strip steak and crab cakes. I've never had a steak cook so perfectly! Let's not mention, our food came out in less then 15 minutes. I've never had service that fast in my life. I enjoyed a really good gluten-free cheeseburger last night with tomato, pickle and lettuce. It's a nice they offer $1 GF bun, which had good taste but didn't quite hold together while eating the burger. They have a really big gluten-free menu that is easy to understand. I like that they are clear right on the menu that they have a shared fryer which is not safe for severe allergies. I was a little surprised that a restaurant offering entrees up to $30 had very slow service when it was not that busy. Servers were friendly and helpful but service was very slow overall. The decor is getting outdated and the table tops are very worn looking. Every table top was extremely worn and looked sad. I absolutely love JB Dawson’s. My husband and I went for our date night. We had made a reservation since it was a busy night. As soon as we got there we waited less than 5 minutes and were seated right away. The food is always amazing, our server last night was the best. He was so attentive, made sure we were taken care of. My family and I ate at this location on Sunday 12/3. Unfortunately, we were in town to attend a viewing and funeral the following day. Prior to the viewing, we decided to grab something to eat. The food was wonderful as was the service, except the waiter accidentally spilled a glass of water onto the table. The water then continued onto my father's pants. No big deal. The manager on duty, Chris, did come over and introduce himself. He apologized for the incident and asked,... "Are we good?" Being that it was simply water, we didn't want to make a big deal about anything. Then the bill came. Nothing was taken off, discounted or even a Gift Card was offered. I've never been to a restaurant that makes a mistake and doesn't even offer to make good on it. Certain things just shouldn't have to be asked for. I'm positive if my father thew a fit and started causing a commotion, then five star service would be offered. I'm not upset at the waiter. Accidents do happen. I'm concerned that a poor management decision was made and there was no offer to rectify the situation (free round of drinks, Gift Card or even taking my father's meal off the bill). This was the best meal I have had in a long time. They have a rather extensive gluten free menu. The grilled chicken melts in your mouth. I'm not sure how you make a baked potato so amazing and the green bean almondine was so good. They also have gluten free desserts. Went here with friends and had a piece of the pumpernickel bread while I waited for my soup and salad. The bread was very tough like it was micowaved!The Baked potato soup was very good! My husband was thrilled that the chefs agreed to make his favorite salad, (Club Salad) that was no longer on the menu! When my Salad Tower arrived it was a huge surprise and looked fabulous and tasted very good! It took 2 requests for more bread to get our second loaf, I had 1 more piece and ...it tasted fresh this time. I could only eat about a third of my Salad and started to feel stuffed! Every else said their food was great! Not sure what happened but all night my husband and I were severely bloated and had abdominal / intestinal pain, very abnormal for us! The whole night and all next day I was running to the bathroom and Still had bloating! Slow service even with having multiple managers out and about took forever to get refills and for our food. I was disappointed on the portion sizes of the shimp and scallops and they were over cooked won't order that again but the mashed potatoes and cinnamon apples were good. I expected more. Read Less

Was actually at JB Dawson's twice this week for dinner. The 1st night i had the pulled pork. It was delicious. I did not care for their baked beans. They were like eating a bowl of chili. Gotta love Austins & JB Dawson! Decided to visit Lancaster and walked into a resturant I completely forgot had any relations to my old job. I worked for Austins from 2013-2014 and I can tell you everything is always consistent and made with 100% fresh products. Even after not working there anymore I decide to get my favorite twisted shrimps, chicken flo pasta and their amazing cheesecake. Great job guys! Always impressive!Don't forget the cornbread! I had the strawberry pineapple express, Baja shrimp tacos and broccoli. All of it was absolutely delicious! My hubby had the filet meniogn (spelling??) And my daughter had the chicken strips which were also delicious ♡ The service was friendly and attentive and a floor manager came around to check on the guests to see that they were all satisfied. ehhh.  pros and cons to this place.  more pros than cons, in my opinion, but the con was a pretty big one.pros: absurdly delicious strawberry mojitos.  i'd go back just to cram more of those mojitos down my gullet.  they were so tasty that i couldn't stop sipping on them and got surprisingly buzzed.the ambiance is pleasant, with roomy booths and lighting that was low enough for the place to feel comforting and cozy (i can't stand fluorescent lighting in restaurants!), but bright enough that i could get a clear look at my food and beverages.the service was very attentive.  that said, i showed up around lunch time and it wasn't terribly busy, so i can't speak to how the service quality is when it's busy.  the waitress was friendly and attentive.main con: their 6 oz. filet mignon was surprisingly crappy.  it definitely did not have the consistency of any filet mignon i'd ever eaten before, and not in a good way.  it almost reminded me of country fried steak, or some other 'steak' product where a low grade cut of steak has been minced and then pressed together, in terms of consistency.  i ordered it medium, and it came back well done.  it was well seasoned, but given that it was not properly cooked and considering the price, i was expecting higher quality meat.  i will say that the mashed potatoes were great, however.  cheesecake was 'just okay.'all in all, it's a pretty decent place, but frankly, i wouldn't order the steak again.  i'd go for the drinks and maybe some light apps from now on. I really wish I would have gotten photos.The portions and presentation are great, as well as the service. Coming from the south I would say the barbecue compared pretty distinctly to what an Applebee's would do. I was not impressed with the cost to quality gap. Cost was similar to a firebirds, not an Applebee's. Atmosphere was great and like I said good overall, but for the money I would expect higher quality food. The head chef is obviously trying as the honey butter is a unique treat, even if it's unexpected. Menus seemed to be in disrepair but that's minor. I go to J.B. Dawson's often and it is always excellent service and great food, they don't even question us when we've asked for our fourth loaf of pumpernickel bread. I always get the veggie burger which is a mushroom and rice blend. It's super delicious even if you're not a vegetarian. Read Less

We discovered this recently after being loyal longhorn patrons. Read that review if you want to know more. This place has good steak's and it's a good location for us since we pass the mall on the way home from work. The dishes overall are good quality. The staff and managers are happy and seem to care. We had a problem once when they mixed up the orders but the server fixed it quickly and the managers took everything off our bill to our surprise. Also when we go in, as regulars now, the managers always stop by and say hi and often buy us a drink or appetizer. It's a nice flashback to what our former favorite in this area was like. This bar is also pretty hip during happy hours and on weekends. They also do a good job seating kids on the outside booths and not having them screaming near the bar where adults play. Overall I'd recommend this place if you're near the mall and want a steakhouse type of food/atmosphere. Read Less

The servers present serving options and pay attention to your needs as the meal progresses.
