I dont get my hair cut as often as I should, but when I do I take the over an hour drive to Kennett to see Devereaux.  She is theeee best, i always feel like a rock star leaving afterwards.  My hair is very thick and has a mind of its own she def knows how to tame the most difficult of heads.  She also is great at recommending new products to keep my hair happy and healthy. I enjoyed my first pedicure and only my second manicure (!!) at Currie Kennett Square. The staff in the reception area we're friendly, not snooty like at other salons/spas I've visited. The nail technician, Trisha was fantastic. I felt so pampered and respected. She explained each step and was very genuine. I would definitely recommend this salon, as it was very clean and inviting. I was happy to realize that two acquaintances work there as stylists, so I'm looking forward to a return visit soon. Read Less

I've been going to Deanna for years now and everytime I cheap out and use a groupon or other deal and go somewhere else, even if I'm not unhappy, I never love my hair like when Deanna does it! As a new customer I was already very hesitant to be starting with a new salon and a new stylist. When I arrived the staff seemed very offputting and the stylist was very awkward and not social throughout the entire appointment. I explained to her that I wanted to go blonde and shorter and showed her several pictures of both the cut and color I was looking for. $180 later I walked out of Currie disappointed and looking as if I had nothing even done while I was there. Being a brunette, I understood that it could be a difficult process going from dark to light but was assured that I would be able to get as close to that picture as possible... That was the furthest thing that happened. She told me to come back in three weeks to try to lighten it up more when I told her it still seemed dark. I called the next day to see if someone else there could help solve this problem sooner and unfortunately ended up speaking to a woman who was so rude and no help at all. Without ever meeting me, she proceeded to tell me my hair was probably too unhealthy to dye that light even after I had explained I had just gotten 12 inches cut off and hadn't had anything done to my hair in months in preparation for this color change. I am excited to say that another local salon took me right away and did an AMAZING job doing exactly what I was looking for at less than 1/2 the price and even did a deep conditioning treatment to make sure that my hair STAYED as healthy as it already was. I will CERTAINLY not be returning to Currie. Their service from start to finish was terrible and their prices are outrageous for such poor quality work and treatment. Read Less

I had the worst experience here. I went to get 2 pieces on my head fixed! I was very clear about what I wanted, just for it to blend in with the rest of my hair. When Victoria the girl doing my hair took out my foils, my hair was blue!!! I never had this happen to me before, she then told me it did not look blue, but annoyingly put a cleanser cream on my hair. She said that I did not have to do that because it will "wash out". I clearly was not happy with my hair and she told me to "sleep on it", and charged me for it. I will never go back here again!! I now have to go to another salon and get her mistake fixed !!! I also had a similar experience at another Currie salon. It just is over priced and the hairdressers are not trained in simple techniques. However  I absolutely love the eye brow waxers at the glen mills location! All of them are so good!! Highly recommend. Read Less

So, I had the worst haircut of my life when I moved out to Chicago. I have not worn my hair down since, it was horrible. I go and see Devereux  here and she gave me hands down the best haircut I have ever had. I did not bring in a picture or anything she was able to work with what little description I gave. She worked with my hair not against it. She even took note that my hair is thick and heavy and properly took the weight off. I almost cried. I actually feel attractive again. She also gave me great advice on how to wash and what products I should use since I have very hard water back in Chicago. I love my hair now. I cannot wait to come back and see what she can do with highlights. I'm going to have to make a special trip back in about 3 months just to get a haircut from her. I've been going here ever since I moved to the area 8 years ago.  I've sat in every stylist's chair at one time or another and have had pretty much ever service: hair, nails, skin care, makeup, massage, etc!  Everyone is professional and GREAT at their job!  I cannot move away because I'd miss them too much.  I'd tell you my favorite stylist's name but then is never get an appointment again as she'd be too booked! I took my daughter here for a hairstyle and manicure for a special occasion.  We made the appointment several weeks in advance.  When the salon called to confirm, they "just realized" that the nail tech my daughter was scheduled with was no longer at the salon.  They did squeeze her in with another nail tech to accomodate the us.  The result, however, was a quick and very sloppy "french" manicure.  It looked awful.  I also found out later that they didn't wash her hair before the styled it.  Wow, $64 plus tips was a complete waste of time and money as far as I'm concerned.  I won't go back to this salon, and wouldn't recommend it to anyone else Read Less

Really, beware of the Hair removal services! I got my eyebrows waxed, and she peeled of a decent amount of skin and eyebrows are asymmetrical. she took of too much of one brow. and not cleaned enough underneath the brow. The facial was decent but she did not explain to me the products used and what they do. I am going on vacation after this with a open wound and asymmetrical brows. I am an avid brazilian waxer and have been for years. I was fortunate enough to live in NYC for a time where you CAN get the BEST brazilian anywhere outside of Brazil. Well I couldn't get back to NYC one weekend and decided to try Currie. I know many friends who have been happy with their hair cuts and colors, and I have experienced their massages before, which I DO recommdend....however, this was by far THE WORST brazilian wax I have ever had. I will spare all you readers the details, but let's just say I was cleaning myself up for a good 24 hours. I don't know anything else about their hair removals.....but DO NOT try the brazilian!
