This nail salon in particular got me a little frustrated. There prices are really high.  They were taking off the acrylics and didn't soak them off they ripped and ripped. They ended off ripping part of the nail off and left the nail so sore.  They pack the acrylic thickness on so heavy. I have not been satisfied with any nails salons here. It's a place just to get your nails done, Maria is no longer there, most days there are usually only two nail techs there, that being said, they really only take appointment only..if you do a walk in 90% of the time they wont have time or there is a long wait. They put new acrylic nail on and not even less than a week in I had the nail come off, so I went in for a nail fix, because usually this doesn't happen less than a week in and they made me pay $5 for a nail fix, claiming that it was an extra dollar more for longer length and also a extra dollar for a coffin nail shape. Additionally, a week after that I had a nail pop off and break, I say that is poor quality for nails..however for eyebrow waxing they do a nice job. Read Less

I am a student at IUP so this super close to campus which is a plus. However, they don't do walk ins, it is appointment only. There are usually only 2-3 technicians there everyday. My nail polish selection is pretty limited compared to other salons i've been to, so if you are looking for a certain color, bring your own or go elsewhere. The pedicures are not that great, as they customer listed below they just use water and clean up the cuticles. At other places I go usually go to at home they use foot scrub, massage for a decent time and even use the oil and rocks to massage. They also have limited nail art designs. Walked in for pedicure on a Saturday afternoon. They took me right away. They only used water in the foot bath, no exfoliating scrub, just basically cleaned up cuticles and trimed nails. Scrubbed the bottom of my feet and used a little lotion on feet and legs. Very little massage. Paint color selection is very basic. Of you are looking to have a very basic pedicure with minimal effort and no extras, go here. Service was kind and again very basic. Just not what I was looking for. I can do all of this at home. Hello everyone, I'd like to point out that the reviews on here are not very accurate. This is a family owned business, yes. Also, there are two technicians most days. However, they are appointment only unless there is absolutely no one signed up that day. They however are extremely good so they almost never have time for walk-ins. If you take ten seconds to call in they find a spot for you and they are amazing! If you leave unhappy it's because you didn't speak up the 5-6 times they ask for your opinion throughout the process. They ask you to assure your happiness because not everyone likes the same way of shaping, acrylic thickness etc. They will do anything you ask them to do. I am probably the pickiest person there is and Sara and T are very patient with me. I've gone here for 4 years and will only go to them. I've tried the place in the mall and also the place behind ironwood and they don't care how well they do their job. Magic nails is also not expensive, the lady who said that must not realize that every place in town has competitive prices. Anyways, if you're the type of person that goes to places based off of reviews please just call in, make an appointment, and review them yourself. Strike up a conversation with T and you will laugh for days. Tell Sara a story about yourself and that woman will remember everything! Every time I go to this salon they always tell me they are too busy and to come back the following day. I've waited in the salon before and they took people before me, I do not know what their bias was, but I feel like they don't want me as a customer. A great family owned and run business with reasonable rates and a great atmosphere. They are near IUP within walking distance. A huge selection of nail polish colors, including shellac, nail art, and waxing. I love visiting them because the staff is polite and nice. The massage chairs for pedicures are amazing. You will love them if you try them out. Very popular with students and local ladies. I often see people come in to ask the staff to fixed botched nail jobs from other local salons. They are the best.
