I have been going to the Lua Nail Salon for about five years now. Wonderful smells, very willing to go the extra step to please. I get the shellac nail polish, which lasts 2 - 3 weeks. A year ago it declined somewhat, coinciding with the owner's attention being focused on a new business enterprise elsewhere. (Not as clean, and not keeping to schedule. No longer a five star place, but I still like it better than other places.) This week I had a 10:00 appointment, and there were three of us waiting with only one technician present. My pedicure did not begin until 10:30, when the other employees began to straggle in. I am a regular at Lua. I get my gel refill with gel polish every two weeks. My nails always looks fantastic no matter what crazy design ideas I throw at them. I love that it's clean & professional & doesn't smell like acrylic. The gel lasts so much longer than acrylic in my opinion anyway. Had an appointment with two others today for 1pm. I waited 20 mins while my two friends were getting their pedicures, and my friend asked about it and no one came over for some time. We were not asked if we wanted wine or any beverage, leaving me to eventually ask for water for the three of us. We were falsely under the impression that this service provided a more special nail experience but it was nothing more than a regular pedicure/salon. In town to visit the in-laws and my mother in law wanted to try a new salons. A friend recommended this place and I'm so glad she did! The salon was clean, organized and quite relaxing. Some places can seem really disconnected with all the different stations but Lua Nail Bar was nicely decorated and the stations made sense! I did the Lua Deluxe Pedicure for $50 and it was 100% worth it. Primped and polished for nearly an hour! The massage chair was incredibly relaxing and the various treatments felt incredible. I pulled up a mail design from Pinterest and they were able to pull it off really well. I've had lots of Pinterest fails at salons so I requested something simple and was very happy. I'm holding out on the 5th start to see how long the polish last and my feet stay smooth. I definitely recommend Lau! Read Less

I first came here in February of 2014 with my 2 daughters and my mother-in-law as a walk in on a Monday morning.  They were very busy and were not able to take us at the moment, however, the girl in charge of managing the store while "The Big Cheese" was away explained to us they were unable to take all of us at the same time as they were short staffed for the month.  We were delighted that we were able to get 4 appointments that same day later in the afternoon and been hooked ever since!!From the moment we walked in, we were warmly greeted by Linda who graciously accommodated all of our needs.  She was able to beautifully paint odd requested nail art for my daughters (a puppy, bumble bee, bee tracks, and sunglasses) on such tiny fingers in a timely efficient manner, as well as giving my other daughter a quick tutoring in her upcoming organic chemistry test she was worried about (Def not your average manicurist).   She also did not hesitate to make a couple of rearrangements for my mother-in-law to feel more comfortable as she suffers from severe back pains.  I been in the customer service industry for many years and I really appreciate good customer service when I see it.  This salon truly stands out from other nail salons, not just because of the fancy atmosphere and ambiance, but because you can feel the love that the staff care about their clients and what they do.  I was sadden to not see Linda the last couple of times we been back, my daughters miss her fun and caring personality and the mother-in-law always finds something to complain about whenever Linda isn't there. I'm sure the other staff dread doing her nails because of it.  Our experience hasn't been the same without her. The atmosphere is beautiful...and they offer different types of pedicures with water additives. BUT...your experience all depends on who you get. The person who did mine wasn't friendly at all nor did she speak. I had gone with a friend so more of the conversation was with her and the person doing her pedicure. Mine also must not have had experience b/c when it was time for my manicure...she did a horrible job. The nail polish was lumpy and looked poorly applied. She didn't even apply to the entire nail/or to the cuticle. And by day two my nail polish was peeling off which I've never had before. Not sure if the paraffin dip was to be done first then nail polish applied...as it left a slippery surface. Not sure if I would go back. Very expensive but worth it if you get the correct person. I would not recommend Lua's. Although the place looks nice, I think that's where it ends. The lady performing my pedicure seemed nice, but she was either new or very poor at her job. She left bleeding abrasions on both my ankles w/the filing board. I initially thought she slipped off my foot but it happened numerous times on both sides and she did not skip a beat. She also did not polish the sides of my nails well or skin closest to the cuticle. The nail drying station stools were also very uncomfortable and the space did not allow room to read a magazine etc. The experience that should have been relaxing was only uncomfortable :( Read Less

Well, I'm glad that I found this place!Atmosphere - Very relaxed and the interior is beautiful and modern. The natural materials used to decorate this nail salon are gorgeous. The stone / granite manicure bar, hard wood floor, bamboo shades are excellent choices! The sinks are very modern and the whole place is just nice to look at. They also serve tea, wine, and champange if you'd like! If it was later in the day, I would have taken her up on the offer. The back wall looks like an apothecary with different herbs and natural soaks in large glass jars. Staff - Very friendly! Greeted when walking through the door, manicurist talked with me throughout the manicure and pedicure. They speak English too!! Pedicure -I chose their signature pedicure and was surprised with how fragrant the green tea oils and green tea were. It was delightful! She did an excellent job with my pedicure, took her time, and ended it with a relaxing hot stone massage. They have a few different options for pedicures and can't wait to try their others.Manicure -I chose their milk manicure and was treated with dried rose petals that smelled amazing. My hands were left smooth, exfoilated, and moisturized. I chose the Shellac gel polish, which I'm a big fan of because the french lasts more than 2 weeks. After leaving, I noticed that the white part of my french was a little messy under my finger nails, but I didn't mind because I had such a great time there relaxing. Prices -I think their prices are a little steep. For the above pedicure and manicure it was 85.00 and that was with the 10% discount for booking the mani/pedi together. It was definitely worth the splurge but next time I will chose less pricey options. I am open to trying their other gel polish options to save some money. Other - They also told me that they do private parties for a 250 minimum. I'd love to get some yelp reviewers / gals together and take advantage of this. The decor is wonderful and I thought it was clever that the nail station is actually bar with multiple stools. However, I also found it incredibly uncomfotable to be leaned forward for an extended period so that the person on the other side could reach my nails. For my polish I used CND's Shellac because it really does look like a fresh mani for two weeks. When I called and asked the price of getting a Shellac manicure I was told it was $25. Turns out that $25 was in addition to the $15 price for a regular manicure. The regular manicure was having my cuticles clipped and my hands dipped in parafin, no arm/hand massage. Every other salon I have gone to charges $25 for a whole manicure and the Shellac polish. Overall, it was a good experience, but definitely not worth $40 plus tip. If you decide to go, make sure to check out their website so you know what your getting. The staffed seemed nice and didn't constantly talk to each other, which definitely let me know that focusing on doing a job is important to them. I never care if manicurist talks to his/her buddies during a pedicare since our faces are a few feet a part, but nothing at a salon irritates me more at than having someone a foot from my face who is carrying on with someone else.  I also liked that no one tried to push extra services on me. I was asked when I arrived if I wanted a pedicure too, but I declined the offer. Other places I have been to will ask if you want something and when you say no, they tell you how much you need it: calluses removed, upper lip wax, some type clay mask or scrub. At Lua Nail Bar, no one makes up flaws to make you feel like you need them to fix you up. I will definitely go back, but never again for a specialty polish. Read Less

Ahhh, I love this place. It's not a large place which makes it cozy. The decor is beautiful, almost stunning. You can tell they put a lot of money into the place to make it classy. I must say the place feels like "zen" or they used feng shui or something. The lighting and decor makes you feel so relaxed when you leave.I have gotten pedicures twice and the last one I got lasted 4 weeks. The gel manicure I got lasted over 2 weeks, almost 3. The staff is very nice and friendly. The place is CLEAN, which is the most important, in my book. The prices are affordable and worth every penny.The best part of this place is they will serve you wine in the evening. Nothing like getting a manicure and having a glass of wine (decent wine, too). Oh, and they also offer a Moms Night out for mom's clubs. My club brought food and wine, and we had the place to ourselves for 3 hours. It was so much fun! This is my new favorite nail place. The only problem I see is the place is a bit small so it might be hard to get in at times. I don't want the place to become too crowded, so that I can't get in, but I still tell everyone I know about this place. :) Read Less
