Plus-i had a broken nail and he practically took my nail off while taking it off..I asked him if he could have soaked it in something instead of pulling it off. He said I’m almost done. No apologies..really weird..I think they can be more personable-the tech at the Glen Mills location was very nice.. Read Less

I am visiting from Florida and understand that nail services in Pennsylvania are significantly more costly. For example, a pink and white gel fill in my salon in Melbourne costs $27.00. However, whenever I visit, I typically go to Newtown Nails in Newtown Square, which is a little out of the way. So, I decided to try Edgmont Nails for the convenience. Tiffany did an excellent job on my nails. I asked for a pink and white fill, but no one told me that there was a distinction between a $45 pink and white service and a $55 pink and white with gel. When you view the price list, the $45 is prominent, but the $55 is hidden. Regardless, when I asked for a pink and white, I would have appreciated if someone had pointed out the price differential. Either way, this salon charges much more than Newtown Nails, about five miles down the street for the same service. I can get a pink and white gel there for $40 -- not $55. Furthermore, as a business owner, I understand the desire to limit the processing fees for credit cards. However, it's unprofessional to demand only cash tips from customers. After they told me it was $55, I asked if I could add my tip to the total on my PayPal card, so that they would only have to run the charge through once and Tiffany could still get her tip. And yes, even though I was unhappy with the price, I still gave her 20% because she had earned it. Yet, she asked me to go down to Beneficial Bank in the shopping center (which is not my bank and would charge me a fee), simply because she wanted a cash tip. Presumptuous and unprofessional. And still, I gave her 20% because of the quality of her work. For the duration of my time up here, I will use Newtown Nails. I suggest that nail salons like this one stop demanding how customers tip them and just appreciate their business. I'll never return to this salon again. I'm not impressed with the "Main Line' attitude and look forward to receiving the same quality service for almost $20 less when I get back to Florida. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. This was my go to place until recently. I get a pedi every other week. Religiously. They have been citing corners for a whole now and trying to keep up with the mega-salons nearby. If you're going to offer additional amenities. Do so correctly. Not half assed. The microwave heated scented bean bag in a plastic bag on my neck is gross. The hand warmer that doesn't get cleaned is unsanitary. I have stopped having them use that a long time ago.  Mostly I am disgusted with the possibility of compromised cleanliness. The utensils in most salons are put in an autoclave for sterilization. You know this is done by the sealed bag they are in. And typically the machine is visible. Here, I can't see the machine and the bags haven't been sealed the last few times I've been there. Eeewwww! And it wasn't that the tech had opened the bag prior to my arrival. The sticky self adhesive seal strip was still on the envelope/bag. Clearly used. Clearly unsealed. I question their practice of sterilizing tools. And unfortunately for them that is a very big part of my complaint. I think they out them in the bags for appearance. Aside from the nasty factor, the last few manicures I've had recently we're atrocious. Just because I don't get gel or tips or fake crap, don't give me the girl who doesn't know what she's doing.  The polish was Hardly double coated on some nails. It chipped on several nails by the 2nd day. Just poorly done. Sorry folks. I'll not be coming here again. Mostly because I care not to have any bacterial infection from dirty equipment. Clean it up Edgemont Nails! You just lost another person to Blooming Nails. Read Less
