I cannot recommend this place highly enough! I'm not usually the kind of person to go for the """"up charge"""" and usually go for the cheapest option wherever I go. Because I was in Albuquerque on vacation, I decided to treat myself a little and I'm so glad I did. Nothing compares to the experience I had at Lotus Nailbar and Spa. The woman who provided my services was Raquel and she was absolutely wonderful. I came in with a months worth of acrylic french tip (no judging, please lol) and I had my natural nail at full length, I had requested that my fake nails be removed while keeping the nail length of my natural nail. This task is not easy. It took her a while, as I expected, but patience is a virtue. She carefully got rid of all the yuck and then continued to an amazing job with my gel mani. This is my go-to holy grail nail salon that I've been religiously going to for over a month. The quality is always amazing and the price is unbeatable. The workers are kind and very dedicated to their work. I can tell that they really care about the quality of my nails rather than just wanting to get it over with so they can move on to the next customer. Today I got my nails done by Donna and I loved how careful she was with prepping my nails before she put gel on. I figured I would give this place a try since I haven't had my nails done in a while. I'll never go there again. Almost every single one of my nails are crooked, the polish is uneven and sloppy, and less than a week I have a couple ready to pop off. I've never had this problem before with acryllics, they've always stayed on and didn't even start lifting until maybe 2 weeks after they had been done. I am so disappointed, paid $65 for sloppy, uneven nails. Definitely won't be going back to even get them fixed and filled, I don't trust that they'll look good. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. Several bad experiences and the last one topped it off. They are not consistent with how each nail tech applies SNS. I've been getting my nails done for 2 years with sns and know the step by step process. I made an appointment and was soaking my nails in pure acetone for 45 mins and wasn't even talked to or acknowledged. He then wouldn't use the drum to clean off my nail and told me it will be $10 for a manicure if that's what i want I said no. Just do a top coat. Lotus then wanted to charge me $10 for them to remove my old SNS set but they didn't even take them off. I sat in the chair for 45 mins taking off my own sns old set off by rubbing my nails on a piece of paper towel at the bottom of the bowl. I refused to pay and refuse to go there and I will not be recommending them again. MY NAILS in Kingston was were I went and got my nails done instead. My nails are walk in only and I got a nail tech quicker to work on my nails than i did at LOTUS when I MADE AN APPOINTMENT. Read Less

Positives: nice place, nice shopping center. That is it.The worst manicure and pedicure I have ever experienced. I am not high maintenance. I was traveling for work and popped in. Got a spa pedicure and gel manicure. 13 out of my 20 digits have nail polish on the skin past the nail. I asked the technician to help and he tried for a few minutes then said it is hard to get off once the gel had been cured. Well, why did you not look beforehand. The technician also has no clue how to file nails. He would go once across, then it would skew off the nail. Never a constant motion. 4 of. My nails are uneven. He did not cut any of my cuticles. Took 2.5 hours and $75 before tip.During my pedicure another tech was in the restroom. My tech said, "I'm so sorry but I'm going to have to go next door, I can't hold it." Gross. On the positive, the staff is very friendly. The place is also very clean and they use new packages of files and buffers for each customer. However, the work is not worth the price. I think I could have given myself a better manicure. The gel polish was on my fingers and cuticles, and I had a few globs under my nails on the sides. It was very sloppy and took way too long. The place and tools are clean, the staff is courteous...that's the good I can say. I had a spa mani this morning and it was terrible. The woman has no business doing nails...she cut a hangnail which bled...ditto a cuticle. Any professional or beauty magazine or website will note that should simply never happen. The hand and arm massage was brutal, I have a bruise forming on one forearm. The really questionable aspect was the polish....she applied two overly thick coats plus topcoat. My nails took over 10 minutes to dry with the fan, and they still smudged once i got outside. It was hard communicating with this woman as her English didn't seem very advanced. I should have known I was in trouble, because a woman came in next to me noting this same tech (mine) had done her acrylics or whatever and 3 or 4 popped off too soon. I didn't leave a tip, needless to say, nor would I return. In other places the techs have been meticulous both in trimming the cuticle and applying polish. Not only did it take too long, the results and experience were disappointing.Another note...if the person at the desk (co owner I assume) is on the phone when a client walks in...at least aknowledge the client. Meh. I could have done as well frankly. The trappings are nice, it's clean and you get a gentle shoulder massage.  But i drove 45 minutes to get there and expected to walk away with really nicely done nails.  The repair she did was fine and i thought they were okay until i stepped outside and could see them in the light. Now I need to file my nails still as one is actually rough on top and there is polish on my skin and cuticals.   The nail beds weren't made smooth before the polish was applied. I drive a 1/2 hour to have my nails done. The basic pedicure includes a quick & wonderful back and leg/foot massage. The atmosphere is so relaxing. Unlike many nail salons, 3/4 of the staff speak English very well. My nails look great when I leave. I wish I lived closer!! Read Less

I am not from Pennsylvania and had no clue about a place to get a pedicure. I looked one up and Lotus popped up first and was conveniently located next to a Starbucks (woo!), so I figured I'd give it a shot. First, the ladies that work there are so nice and the place itself is gorgeous. Second, they include a short back/shoulder massage with the basic pedicure (I can only imagine how amazing the better ones are) and it was a wonderful surprise. (I didn't actually read the menu of services before getting my pedicure or else I probably would have known about it. Hahaha.) Sage did my pedicure and was amazing. I would definitely recommend it! I took my mom in hopes of a nice girls day and we were both SO disappointed with the lack of skill! I won't mention names, but the woman and man who did our pedicures has less skill than just about anyplace I've been prior to this. Sad. Callus removal?!? Nada. Cuticle trim?!? Nope. I The polish job was so poor I am going home to redo it myself and the massage was basically nonexistent. They were friendly and the salon is clean. That is all they have to offer. Owner is not very professional I made an appointment (online) for 10am on a Saturday ~ I showed up at 9:55am, the place was already open so I went inside. The 2 ladies on staff said they couldn't access the computer system to check me in (that is only done by the owners). So I waited until 10:10 before asking if the staff knew what time Jake would be coming in or if I could be rescheduled for another day (I had a very tight schedule to keep), the staff advised me that "they were always late" ....and that they couldn't reschedule me because that's "handled by the owners". I said I would try to call them later on in the day to reschedule and went out to my car (which was parked right in front of the doors) and as I was putting on my seat belt to back up and drive away, who parked next to me? The Owners (Jake and Michele) both with coffees in hand. This leads me to believe that Jake thought stopping for a coffee was more important than the appointment that was on his schedule (appointments which allow him the $$ to buy that coffee!) Then Jake had the nerve to call and leave me a voice mail stating "if you could make it to your 10am scheduled appointment, that would be great" what a joke!! I do not want to give my money to a business who doesn't think my time is just as important as theirs. I used to love this place before they remodeled. The new employees have no idea what they are doing. She did three coats of polish which smeared before I left the salon. She redid them and within 15 minutes of leaving they smeared again. Will not be going back. Read Less

So I talked my daughter into going there with me . We made a appt for mani pedis getting the sns on our nails. Our own fault we were 9 minutes late so as soon as we get in the building were told your really late all we can tell you is your not getting the massage with your pedi's. Knowing we were late we agreed and received the worst pedi we have ever gotten and we get them alot, they spent more times painting our toes then giving us a actual pedi. Some of my daughters sns nails popped off and the ones that didn't pop off ripped her nails off, she's a teacher which is a very difficult job but wouldn't effect her nails . I was recently back to get the sns put back on my nails again and they are so bad when i wash my hair the end of my nails by my cuticles are pulling my hair out . I suppose I'll start with the positive: everyone here has been courteous and friendly. However, I feel at this point I've given this place plenty of chances. I have only come in for a pedicure, but each time it's ended up chipping extremely easily and quickly within days. Meanwhile my favorite place before moving here I could expect a pedicure to last for 3+ weeks without chipping, maybe even longer. Any time I have stopped in to make an "appointment" to come back, I often end up waiting quite a while. On top of that, the basic pedicure ends up taking entirely too long. I don't have the time for a simple pedicure without add-ons to take 1.5 to 2 hours, sometimes more including waiting for my appointment time. I'm giving up. Read Less

I've never had a bad experience there. Right now I get acrylic nails/refills. They always look good. They do designs too! The new salon is inviting, clean, and overall relaxing. Being added to their client list I now receive a phone call and/or text to remind and confirm appointments which I love. Eventually I will try other services they offer. The staff was friendly, but my gel manicure was poorly done. It took over 1.5 hours, and I could've done it better myself. I had to ask the nail technician multiple times to file my nails so that they would be even. Eventually, I stopped asking because she wasn't doing it well. I sat down in the chair and repeated what I wanted to the gentleman who would be working on my nails, but he still didn't listen to what I was saying. I just got my acrylic nails done. The service was shoddy. The man cut my hand with the sander and didn't apologize.  He complained incessantly that I need to relax my hand. He forgot to top coat several of my nails. My hands were red and swollen at the nail beds.Then two days later..my nails start peeling.  I go to get them fixed and the only person who can fix it is the idiot who screwed up the first time. I asked to wait for another girl to do it.apparently the manager. She gets a girl to ask to jyst paint it again when thats not all that was needed to fix it. When asking for a refund she said no. Kind of disappointed. I haven't been to this place in years, but my sister and I needed and wanted a gel manicure. They changed up the atmosphere and it looks great but the quality of work is awful...We both got gel manicures - both of us left with really sloppy jobs. I'm from out of town, and stopped here with a girlfriend I was visiting. My normal nail place back home offers the same price range, but this place was very stingy with the services!! I got a basic pedicure. Basic doesn't even begin to describe it! She didn't cut my nails, and barely touched the cuticles. I know I have rough heels, but she didn't even try to get the dead skin off. I walked out with rough heels just like I walked in with. It was also very short. No hot stone, no hot towel...
