I rarely write reviews but I'm still so pissed about my experience here. My gel started peeling after two days. When I came to get it corrected they were terribly rude to me. I am still not over how badly I was treated and I will NEVER go back. I prefer Star Nails on Ridge Pike. My gel never peels from Star Nails and the owner is very sweet. Read Less

So far I have had two great experiences with this salon. I've made appointments ahead of time for a mani/pedi and one time was sat right away, another time they sat me down but I did have a brief wait because it was so busy. Really disappointed. I'm lazy when it comes to writing reviews, so you can tell I'm upset since I actually took the time to write this. My friend got me a gift card here a year back - I went and wasn't a fan. The place is clean and looks nice but my gel manicure didn't last more than a week.Flash forward to a week ago. I was home and decided to give them another shot (I normally go to a salon near my work). I paid $73 (before tip) for a french gel manicure and a normal pedicure. Even if I had a good experience - that's pretty expensive. It's now 1 week later and my gel has peeled on the sides of 7 of my nails. I can normally get 2.5-3 weeks on a gel manicure. And to top it off, my pedicure chipped as well. Never been more disappointed in a mani/pedi - especially for the price. Read Less

I had been to this salon a few times and my experiences were only ever 'ok'.  The last time I was there, however, was the last time, period.  I will say their nail technicians are incredibly nice to their customers but, on this occasion, there was confusion from the owner with my appointment. It was not honored and I ended up having to forego my manicure as I was there for nearly two hours before my pedicure was finished.  In addition, the owner was blatantly rude to me in the middle of the salon.  I understand bad days happen; however, yelling at and scolding a customer over existing gel polish is unacceptable.  I should have just left once that happened and called it a day ... but hindsight is 20/20.Furthermore, while their spa pedicure is a nice touch, I feel they are very overpriced for an overall average experience.  I wouldn't waste your time here ... many more reasonably priced salons in the area that would never allow their patrons to leave feeling like crap. I went here after having a great experience my first time; however, this time was not. Every year i get the same manicure/pedicure of the same design for the 4th of July holiday. This time i decided to go back to Serenity since having a good experience with my girlfriend. Everything was going great until I was ready to pay. The owner came over to look at my manicure and said how great of a job they did. I agreed. Upon doing that, she looks at me and says "You better pay up." First and foremost we are not on a friendship level so I took that to be extremely arrogant and rude to say to a customer who is well aware that having a design on every finger was going to be a bit costly. Not only was it more expensive from where I went in the past; the second day my "gel" manicure chipped. The third day, a HUGE chip on another finger. I had planned to return to the salon to have it fixed; however, the holiday is over and it is pointless to me. I also tried to reach out to the owner via Instagram before writing a google review. She not only ignored my post and deleted it, but when I called to go over my problem, she did not apologize and said she saw my post and was going to reach out to me. Today was my second time at serenity since I figured I'd give them a second try after the first poor experience and now I know for sure I'll never be returning. The woman was very rough, she left the nail polish remover on my gel nails for about 20 minutes which burnt and made my hands red and dry. She then cut my skin (to the point where I actually bled) while filing my nails so rough and she had an overall annoyed demeanor. The manicure was pretty bad too, she painted over my cuticles. For some reason I still decided to tip her well and she literally ripped the cash out to my hand. No eye contact, no thank you, not even good bye. Very strange experience. I had the best pedicure of my life here today. The lady really took her time, was thorough, & did a great job. Someone else was doing my manicure at the same time - It was just okay, but luckily the pedicure made up for whatever that lacked & in the end, both paint jobs were great. I appreciated how other customers were coming in but there was no skimping out or rushing on mine - The lady was unphased/focused. Also, everyone that works here is super friendly & engaging. I have given this nail salon 4 visits. Each time I sit and wait at least 30 minutes after my scheduled appointment. They don't honor their appointment times. Such great service. Very experienced woman and the place is always clean. You get a choice of red or white wine and a great shoulder massage while getting a manicure. Went with my fiancé and he enjoyed the kindness of the stuff. Would recommend it to anyone. :) Read Less

I've tried to go here a few times and each time it has been a disappointment. I like my nails short but they aren't trained in how to cut short nails or file them. They also cannot cut cuticles well at all, each time there was almost no difference from when I walked in to when I left. But most importantly they do NOT sanitize their tools between customers. I do not have any suggestions for a great manicure in the area, but strongly suggest you don't waste your money here. Read Less

Serenity nail bar is a very clean and quiet place to get your nails done. I don't get Polish or color, just regular Mani and pedi. Rebekah is the owner, she will take care of you! It is pricey but worth every penny! Read Less

I've been to this salon a few times. Pros: They give you a massage while your nails are drying and offer complementary wine. The salon is clean and staff are friendly.Cons: Usually my nails turn out really nice, but 2 times my gel nail polish didn't look that great and didn't stay on very long. Serenity is a good place to go to if you want a treatment beyond a regular mani pedi. Their prices are high but you get the extra massage as a bonus. Other nail salons that are cheaper probably offer a better mani/pedi but without all the frills that come with the prices here. I've had 2 gel manicures here that chipped after a week and my mani that I got yesterday has already chipped. If you're willing the pay the extra and want the massage and hot stones then give it a try. Read Less

I love, love, love it here. Best pedicure in Philadelphia. I was just raving to my husband about it after a poor pedi experience at a day spa. The pedi includes an amazing calf massage and a hot stone shoulder massage. It is heavenly. I've also had gel mania done several times and am always thrilled with the results. They last longer than any other gel mani I have had. I have never had a problem going at lunch time and getting whatever service I want done and have been offered drinks multiple times. Not impressed. Against better judgement, I deviated from my regular salon because this one was closer to my home. I wish I could say I liked this place, but the service was seriously lacking. It was busy when I arrived, but I was taken to the nail bar to remove my gel polish after about 5 minutes. Unfortunately, that's where the great service ended. In all, I think four or five different girls did my nails. One applied the tinfoil to soak off the gel, another tried to scrape it off, couldn't, and put them back on. Then, someone else did come and scrape it off. After that, a new person started my pedicure (the only one who finished the job she started...and the only reason I have two stars- the massage was great), someone else game and prepped my nails, then left again. By the end I didn't know who I was going to have to tip. The worst part was no one told me anything! They didn't say "hello" or "be right back", they just kept grabbing my hand and doing a little work, then left me wondering. While all this was happening, the manager was arguing with his staff about who was going to do what. It was a mess. To top it off, my nails and toes don't match! Also, the bottles of wine you see in the pics are there, just don't expect anyone to offer you any. No one in the place had a drink....skip this place till they get it together. Read Less

I've been a patron here before they moved to their new salon. The salon/spa is very nice & clean. I mostly utilize the nail services. I love the ladies, they are really nice. They just need to improve their customer experience & not over schedule. Every patron should always have a great experience. Recently, unless I go at a very slow time, the service is rushed. The quality of paint job really varies from person to person. Often it chips within 2-3 days & isn't cleaned well off the cuticles. For the cost, the paint should last several days. Customer service is also lacking, I'm never offered a wine or hot stone massage any longer when waiting. Though the prices are higher. Additionally, I was sent a grand opening with specials including student discounts. Every time I go to us my student discount, they won't accept it...why the false advertising of specials. I've had a blow out once & the woman soaked my shirt, didn't return my hair clip & basically suggested a new less layered cut. I'll never utilize this service again.
