I went in to get my nails painted with some nail art on them. The appointment started off on bad. They told me I was an hour late, however; I showed them THIER confirmation email to show them their error. So I am getting my nails painted, just painted. The nail tech started drilling into my natural nail bed with an electronic file! At one point I had to tell her she was hurting me and noticed afterward that I had a cut in my finger from her drill. She seemed offended when I said she was hurting me...hello I am not going to let you cut me? So finally we move onto paint. And the nail art I requested was just a few straight lines painted in random directions. Nothing too intricate. Well my lines looked awful, crooked and thick and thin in places. I could have painted these lines better. So I paid $37 for this "manicure" and left a $5 tip (thinking back I should not have tipped). When I gave the receptionist the tip, she asked "Is that all?"...are you kidding? You are commenting that I am not tipping enough? I left with a poor paint job, a cut in my finger, and messed up nail beds. I had to wait 4-5 months after my appointment for the divots in my nails from the drill to grow out. Here is a tip, you do not drill nails esp when they are only getting painted. Anyways, this place is not as great as it appears online and on their social media. My best friend and I have been following this salon since it first opened. She had a mutual friend who would rave about them and post her nails and hair all the time and we fell in love. My friend decided to take us both there as a Christmas present for myself and her. We were really excited to be in this atmosphere and see these girls who we've been watching on social media for so long. The appointments were booked at the same time, so we had assumed we would be put near each other to enjoy this experience, that didn't happen. We were sat literally on the other side of the table from one another. I assumed this place would be spotless, that wasn't the case either. They had just opened from the previous day and there were dirty nail supplies under stations and dirt on the floor. My friends nail tech was so rude to her. She showed her the style she wanted which was pink, navy, and gold and was told that it was ugly and wouldn't work. We both quickly got the impression that this salon is not fond of new customers. There was hardly any conversation going on between us or around us. The nail tech beside the girl doing my nails made a comment that she had a new appointment coming in later that day as she rolled her eyes and said "can't wait for that." We weren't even offered this sparkling water that they rave about. The decor was tacky, the staff had horrible customer service for being in the business they are in, the whole experience was a total let down. I left feeling like I had just walked out of the Mean Girls movie and for sure would be blasted in the burn book. You'd think they'd be a little bit more excited to have new customers to promote more business. We drove 2 hours to come to this place and paid an outrageous price for nails that weren't even completely what we wanted. My friend ended up re-doing hers and adding more color over the grey matte that she was loaded up with. Needless to say we won't ever be back. So if your goal was to make the experience so dreadful that new customers don't become regular customers, congratulations. In the mean time I'm going to play "Bad Blood" by Taylor Swift as I unfollow your salon and all the stylists in it from social media. We will  stick with our regular nail technicians, who by the way are not Chinese, yes that was a question asked by the one girl, "Is your nail girl Chinese?" Went here for the first time yesterday after hearing people rave about it - definitely was not disappointed. The salon itself is adorable and you feel like you're really treating yourself by going there. I got a gel manicure with Olivia and it is literally perfect - not a single flaw. She was very personable and really took her time on each step. Also feel that the prices are very reasonable for the awesome service that you get in comparison to other salons! I scheduled a hair appointment with Genevieve for balayage. This was my first time having my hair colored at DBL and I have always gotten foils so I was hesitant to try something different. Genevieve was so helpful and knowledgeable and made me feel confident in my decision to try something new. She was also very personable and made me feel comfortable from start to finish. So I visited DBL for the first time about three weeks ago and I've been back twice since then! I'm totally hooked. I've had two gel manicures (with nail art) with Emily, and she is a total rockstar. First of all, she's super sweet. Secondly, I'm a bit of a hot mess when it comes to ideas and she always helps me come up with something perfect! And DBL uses structure gel for a couple extra bucks, so I feel like my nails are so much more sturdy and healthy.I've also had a lash lift with Kristina and it's pretty much the best money I've ever spent. I am "blessed" with stick straight lashes that poke straight out and don't really hold a curl. I was intrigued by the lash lift and there was a promo for them in November, so it was the perfect time to pull the trigger. I am totally blown away with how good my lashes look! Major shoutout to Kristina, she chatted with me the whole way through and then sent me the sweetest note after. I will definitely be back for another lash lift in 2-3 months!The salon itself is so glam - the atmosphere is really fun and it's like you're hanging out with your girlfriends. All of this is great but at the end of the day what keeps me coming back is the quality of the services provided. They might be a little more pricey than other places for some services, but I 1000000% believe that you get what you pay for. You can really tell that Dallas has high standards, and it's reflected in DBL's work, quality of products they use, etc. My nails have never been healthier and I can tell it's because they're using high quality products. And as far as my lashes.. when my eyeballs are involved I'd want to go somewhere with a great reputation, such as DBL. Falling in love with DBL is an understatement! I first tried the salon simply by viewing their IG, I loved Hannah's work and thought to give it a try. I am so happy I did!!! Hannah sets clear goals with my hair and assures me each step of the way why she is doing what she's doing. It is obvious her main goal is to make me happy and of course pretty!!!! She doesn't just do any treatments on my hair, she talks it over with me so I know there's going to be additional charge.  But, they're worth it, I promise! The salon seems to be super clean and orderly. The girls working are all very nice. You can ask any of them a question and everyone is super willing to help. Oh, did I mention they have "spa" water? So fancy, right? Maybe, but also super refreshing!! I tried an express derma plane. How cool! Kari did everything she could to fit me. I will be trying the full derma plane next week and will let you know how it goes! I have a  body scrub and spray tan appointment coming up for my wedding, I will update and let you know how it went! Oh, did I mention everyone has a venmo account so no need to worry about carrying and remembering cash to tip! This salon is amazing.  As soon as you walk in you are blown away by the gorgeous decor and atmosphere.  Most people know Dallas as the best nail salon in the city, and it definitely is, but they offer way more than that.  I love the skin care center at Dallas.  Kari does an awesome job on facials and waxing.  She is so welcoming and attentive.  One of my favorite services is Dermablading.The staff at Dallas is very professional, personable, and seriously great at what they do.  If you are looking for a great nail, hair or skin salon, seriously look no further.  You won't be disappointed. I have been meaning to write this since I first started coming here last year right before Christmas but...life! Lol. This is by far the best nail salon I have ever been to- and I've been to them all- even the top NYC nail art places. The quality here is second to none of them. Dallas not only does the best manicure I've ever had, she is also an artist (see photos- ahh!!!). Seriously- people stop me in the street to stare at my nails and don't believe they are hand painted by someone NOT wearing a magnifying glass! Strangers have even taken pictures of my nails because they are so amazing. Ha! She trains all her employees with the same skills. All the DBL girls I have seen are creative and artistic. I love that if I haven't had time to Insta stalk a mani I want that I can just go in and say, "Do what you want!", and get something badass. I have been to a bunch of different girls other than Dal (love you, Mary) and had great mani's with them all. Dallas also always has the newest tools so your mani will be on trend or even better- setting the trend! The mani's here are the best quality and the best artistically. What is even more impressive is the time and the price. I have never had a gel manicure with art done take less than two to three hours anywhere else. At DBL I'm in and out within 60-90m, depending on how complicated my nail art is. I am a more is more nail person (pics!) so if you like simple nails you will be even faster. DBL also has the best pricing I've ever seen for this level of nail art. I know some people here have said it's expensive- and perhaps compared to your average Pittsburgh nail place it might be if you do the kind of art I do. But it really isn't if you do a simple gel manicure. You'll pay more than double in NYC for thicker and not as detailed nails! Also your DBL manicure will last forever. I have three kids and am very active- I could easily make mine last a month. I go every two weeks though because I love changing it up. I don't know who wrote the few reviews that were negative but my experience with customer service at DBL has been outstanding. My standing appointments are always made and I get a text reminder and email before and after my appointment. The one time I had a scheduling snafu Dallas came in from her OB baby appointment HERSELF to do my nails and then wouldn't let me pay her! This dedication and professionalism speaks to her character and to the kind of businesswoman she is. The last thing I'll say is that when I have regular appointments somewhere like my fav store, gym, hair salon, nail salon, I go to for the quality but I stay because I make personal connections with the people. I've been going to DBL for quite some time now and figured it was time to write a review. These women blow me away consistently. They do amazing work, are always willing to learn or try something new, and are genuinely kind and wonderful people. I *so* look forward to every appointment that I have there, no matter who I'm seeing. This is the only place I'll go for a gel mani. I love this place. The decor makes you feel like you're in the city, and the girls work is amazing. I've been to several different nail techs but my favorite is Emily. I've been here many times and never took the time to write a review but this place is so perfect for me and welcoming, i think it's time I did!I've had Suze, Jen, and Tony do my nails before. All are amazing. I haven't ever seen someone leave without the most photogenic manicure. Is it expensive? Yes. But if you want quality service you gotta pay for it. Kerri - Goddess of brows and facials. Her dermaplane makes my skin incredible and if I ever win the lottery, I'm going to book an appointment with her daily. I've had a ton of facials and eyebrow waxes over the last 15 years and by far she is the best. Jen - I am very picky about my hair. I'm not terribly adventurous. Somehow without even telling her what I want (half the time I don't even know) she makes me feel gorgeous. I'm a working mom and don't have time to get in to see her often, but she and the other girls are never judgmental of how much of a hot mess I am when I come in lol. Jess - I only got one pedi with her but I can't wait to schedule a massage with her. She gave me the most incredible foot rub. She ruined all future pedis for me because she set the bar so high!Dallas - she's never done my nails but she's greeted me at the front desk before and has been sitting beside me when I've been getting my nails. She's so friendly! My grandparents owned a salon for 40 years. I know first hand how incredibly exhausting and stressful it is. You can't make everyone happy. You lose clients. You lose employees who take your clients. It's ultra competitive. I don't know how she always seems to be in such a positive mood every time I see her...even when she was super pregnant! When I was pregnant I was miserable and didn't want to talk to anyone lol  She seems like she truly takes her business so seriously and I am blown away by the fact that she started this all with a $500 loan from her dad. Okay, let me start by saying I've pretty much tried every service offered at this salon because I'm a big believer in the owner's vision and the services clearly speak for themselves. If you're looking for specialty work in the greater Pittsburgh area- look no further, you've found it ladies. First, let's discuss the obvious- Nails. Take a quick peak at their @dallasbeautylounge page on Instagram. Real people, real nail work.. if you're looking to do something unique with your nails- it's a no-brainer, this is the place. Next- the "spa" service area. This has certainly grown over the past 2 years and I personally thank GOD it has! Eyelash extensions with Kelly are amazing and full. Yes, they're pricey- but they're pricey everywhere! Make sure you're getting quality products- this salon has the best. Moving on to my favorite person and service at this salon- KARRI (aka: the brow master). She literally works WONDERS with brows. If you need something as simple as a brow wax- she makes it a very personal experience and actually listens to her clients. Not to mention all the other services offered, like brow tinting and my personal favorite- MICROBLADING. I'm not going to lie, after my first session it faded pretty quick. Obviously, I thought I had probably wasted my money. But- I trusted the process and went back for my recommended "touch up" 5-6 weeks later. I can't express to you how important that touch up really is.. what a difference! It's almost been a year and I truly didn't even need a touch up yet- They still looked awesome! (For anyone considering- just keep in mind the brows will fade the first round but take my word for it- go to the touch up appointment and you'll be hooked forever. SO Worth it.)  Anyway, I just got my "Color Boost" done because they're having a "monthly special" and my routine (annual) time would be coming up soon so I figured "why not get a deal?"... all I can say is, another awesome appointment with Karri. She's truly the best! So, If you're looking for brows, I HIGHLY recommend this salon. If you're looking for unique custom nail designs- again, I recommend this salon. If you're looking for the biggest bang for your buck and don't mind getting basic mediocre results- definitely go somewhere else. This isn't a low quality salon, don't expect low quality prices. It's safe to say that I am OBSESSED with this place. I've been going here for 2 years now. I love that they offer so many different services - it really is a one stop stop. I've  had my eyebrows done, bikini wax and my nails done.Another thing I love about this place is that I always get such a warm welcome when I walk in. These girls remember you and remember what's going on with you in your life. It's so personal here and I always feel so great seeing them. I just recently moved away and still make sure to get my nails done here when I come home (which is very often). Even though I haven't lived in Pittsburgh since November, I walked in recently in July to get my nails done for an engagement party and it's like I had never left. Super warm and excited greeting from all of the ladies there. Eyebrows - Karri, thank you again for saving my eyebrows and making them be so fierce. I've been in her bed many times and I feel like she's my 2nd mom. We always have fun talking about what's going on in each other's lives and the fun trips planned. Nails - I have never had a bad manicure here. I always get the gel nails and just recently got the new gel the salon is using. It's awesome! It's great to sit down and get a great set of nails while talking and catching up the any of the girls. This nail salon is the absolute best!!!!  I have only been there a few times so far but it feels like a second home.  I have never been a regular at a salon before but after coming here I could never go anywhere else.  The girls are all extremely nice and personable.  There's so much personalization here also, they remember you and will always give you fantastic service.  I always look forward to my appointments.  The quality of the nails and the designs these girls do are amazing.  The girls are also all trained by the owner so you always have consistency here.  Thanks to the staff here at Dallas for the fantastic service!!!!  I will never go anywhere else! Eh didn't live up to the hype. They had a lot of good press- I didn't expect it to be so #tacky.  Lots of pink, black, and white decor. Typical "pops of color" and dorm style pillows with sayings. I totally get the look they're going for, and I think it would be the perfect place to host something like a 13th birthday party. The staff seems nice enough and they do an okay job. I think they try verrrrry hard to look and act 'chic', but it's a little embarrassing. The salon is chalk full of fake LV bags, and obvious CZ engagement rings. The type of place where Steeler nails are considered #classy.I think the owner is fairly young but I got such a hopeless "But I'm a cool mom!" vibe from the whole salon. Ugh. Their website is especially cringeworthy- naming categories things like " ja-rules", which just makes them seem desperate to look 'hip'. Again, totally fine if you're looking for some crazy bachelorette party nails or something similarly trashy, but not exactly a high end salon. They did a perfectly fine job on my mani and pedi but it's not really somewhere I would openly admit I go to regularly. Read Less

I've been going to DBL for a couple years now. Acrylic set here, gel mani there..  But, I have a confession... I recently made a rash decision to go to cheaper salon, last minute, on a Saturday. I knew I wasn't going to get an appointment at DBL and I was going out for a girls day and I'm not sure what I was thinking. ANYWAYS... The place was disgusting and my gel manicure was mediocre at best. The only positive thing that came from this experience was the appreciation I have DBL. Dallas boasts sanitation and continuing education. It really shows when compared to a garbage salon like the one I went to. I haven't been in a salon like that in so long that I forgot that DBL was special. Get yourself on a wait-list or find yourself a referral and treat yo self to the cleanest and most talented salon in Pgh. Read Less

I came here on a referral. It's a nice enough salon. I didn't find some of the girls there very nice, but i let that slide. Keri, who did my brows is great. So great I decided to have microblading done. I made the deposit. However, a scheduling error occurred, I had it down on a different day then they did. Ok. So I will reschedule, right? Wrong. No appointments for a month AND even if I do reschedule they were keeping my $50 deposit. Keep in mind this was with 48 hours notice.  I'm a busy woman. I own two companies and I think great customer service and a little flexibility goes a long way. I understand the importance of trying to keep an appointment however things happen. And this company offers zero flexibility. Enjoy my $50. It'll be the last dollar I spend at this establishment. Read Less

Lovely little spot to get your nails done, just make sure you have a referral when making an appointment!  This salon is decked out in crisp whites, hot pinks, and a GLITTER WALL!  I'm gonna need that in my house. In the meantime, I can at least drool over it while I get my nails done by the fabulous crew at DBL. I had been itching to get an appointment here but finally made the move after a good friend recommended it to me in my hunt for a new nail salon near my new home in the South Hills. My first appointment was with Suzanne and she was a trooper. Allow me to explain... My recent manis have come from a salon in Shadyside that I was pretty fond of. However as Suzanne attempted to soak off the gel polish from my last manicure it. Took. For. Ever. 45 minutes, 1000 cotton balls and foils later (approximately), she was able to put fresh polish on my digits. She was so patient and kept reassuring me as I apologized profusely. I greatly appreciated her attitude and diligence even as her next appointment arrived and was waiting.  Her and I had great conversation through the whole process, she had great input in terms of my polish colors, and my mulled wine nails look fantastic for my upcoming trip to Sonoma! I've seen some reviews complain about the appointment only/referral policy, but its end result is a cozy, friendly salon that I plan to turn into my own personal Cheers where I can build a friendship with my nail tech instead of being plopped down at whoever's station is open, which has vastly been my previous experience with nail salons.  I look forward to my next appointment and can't wait to try some of the fun nail designs and applications (hello hologram and chrome!!) that these fabulous ladies specialize in!
